P.R.O.J.E.C.T RESTORING HONESTY IN SCHOOL

1. Values Education Theme: Honesty (Pagkamatapat)

2. Real-World Problem: A growing dishonesty among students, leading to issues like cheating,
plagiarism, and a lack of transparency in various school activities.

3. Problem Based Learning Plan:

3.1 Define the Problem:
 How can we foster a culture of honesty and integrity within our school community to
increase trust, improve academic integrity, and promote ethical behavior among students?
3.2 Set Learning Objectives:
 Students will deeply understand the value of honesty, its impact on personal character,
relationships, and the school community. They will be able to identify situations
requiring honesty and practice ethical decision-making, even when difficult. They will
explore the concept of pakikisama (getting along) in relation to honest communication
and conflict situation.
 Critical Thinking: Analyze data related to honesty in the school surveys and
observations, identify root causes of dishonesty, evaluate the effectiveness of different
strategies to promote honesty, and assess the feasibility of proposed solutions.
 Collaboration: Work effectively in the classmates or groups, leveraging individual
strengths to research, brainstorm, design, and implement solutions. Practice active
listening and respectful communication during disagreements.
 Communication: Clearly and persuasively communicate research findings, proposed
solutions, and action plans to various audiences (teachers, students, school
administration). Develop effective presentation and persuasive writing skills.
 Creativity: Design innovative and engaging campaigns to raise awareness and promote
honest behavior. Develop creative solutions that address the root causes of dishonesty.
3.3 Plan Learning Activities:
 Phase 1: Needs Assessment
 Conduct anonymous surveys and focus groups to gather data on students' perceptions
of honesty in the school.
 Analyze existing school policies and procedures related to academic integrity.
 Research best practices from other schools in promoting honesty.

 Phase 2: Solution Design & Planning

 Brainstorming for the solutions like peer mentoring program focused on ethical
decision-making, school-wide awareness campaign emphasizing the importance of
honesty, development of a clear and accessible code of conduct, workshops on
plagiarism prevention, improved systems for reporting academic dishonesty.
 Develop detailed action plans for chosen solutions, including timelines, resource
allocation, and communication strategies. Create compelling visual aids
Example: posters, videos, social media campaign to support their campaigns.

 Phase 3: Implementation & Evaluation

 Implement chosen solutions, engaging with teachers, students, and school
administration.
 Collect data to monitor the effectiveness of the implemented solutions. This could
involve repeat surveys, observations, or tracking of instances of academic dishonesty.

 Phase 4: Presentation & Reflection

 Prepare and deliver a final presentation to the school community, showcase the findings,
solutions, and impact. The presentation should clearly demonstrate the connection
between honesty, trust, and positive school culture.
 Write individual reflections analyzing the project's success, challenges encountered, and
personal growth in understanding and promoting honesty.

 Printing resources for posters and flyers
 School administration support
 Access to school data (if available)
