JOB DESCRIPTION ICU TECHNICIAN
1. Respond quickly and competently to medical emergencies.
2. Assists the nursing staff in patient care (personal hygiene, grooming, positioning etc.)
3. Assist nursing staff in suctioning and operating the ventilator machine.
4. Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies.
5. Initiates CPR and activates code blue as and when required.
6. Is skilful in implementing medical aid.
7. Assists the physician in procedures like ET intubation, Central line insertion etc.
8. Ensures supply inventory is sufficient to meet the demands of work area, and that that
the work area is kept clean and organized.
9. Is able to report any changes in patients' conditions to a registered nurse or physician.
10. Implements the principles of universal precautions in the performance of duties.
11. Identifies the emergency codes and protocol and recognises their role in an emergency
situation.
12. Ensures high wash and thorough cleaning of the ICU.
13. Is responsible for care of biomedical equipment, checking par levels and working
order for BP cuffs, EKG cables, leads, oximetry cables, etc.
14. Sends malfunctioning equipment to Medical Engineering per established procedure.
15. Performs 12 lead EKG
16. Assists with patient care procedures as directed by the nurse, using proper body
mechanics and ensuring patient dignity
17. Promotes responsible and efficient use of resources
18. Performs patient’s transfer, and shifting tasks as required.
JOB DESCRIPTION OT TECHNICIAN
1. Prepares the anaesthesia trolley, Operation Theatre, Equipment and sterile trolley.
2. Is accountable for Checking and cleaning

4. of the anaesthesia apparatus, medical gases cylinders, laryngoscope, airways,
Endotracheal tubes & connections.
5. Ensures the O.T. Light, O.T. Table, Diathermy machine, Suction Machine, Electric
points for proper functioning
6. Assists the anaesthesiologist during intubation’s/ extubation and during various
anaesthetic procedures like tracheostomy, cannulations , endotracheal suctioning,
CVP lines, Arterial lines, etc.
7. Checks the central oxygen and other medical gases supply to the Operation Theatre.
8. Is able to adjust the shadow less lamp or spot light in position, table during operation.
9. Is able to handle the working of microscope.
10. Checks the breathing system & endotraheal cuff tubes for leakage, kinks, damage, for
leakage etc.
11. Assists the doctors in procedures and equipment setting in Operation and Anesthesia
Work.
12. Is knowledgeable about necessary equipment to be provided during the surgery.
13. Ensures high cleaning, thorough washing and fumigation of OT’s and their
documentation.
14. Is able to handle the C-ARM Machines during the surgery.
15. Ensures working of OT equipment like anesthesia machine and ventilator equipment.
16. Prepares the surgical site (cleaning, shaving etc.) before the surgery.
17. Is able to handle the laparoscopic machine during surgery.
18. Assists in the patient transfer or shifting from stretcher to the table and also
sometimes to and from OT to hospital room

1. Provides intra-operative equipment and technical support.

JOB DESCRIPTION PET SCAN TECHNICIAN
1. Ensures patient safety during procedure.
2. Is able to Perform PET scans and Capture quality diagnostic images.
3. Is knowledgeable about radiopharmaceuticals and asssits the nursing staffs for the
same.
4. Inspects and Ensures the functionality and maintenance of the machines.
5. Is knowledgeable about the human anatomy and reaction of the radioactive drugs.
6. Keeps a track of safety measures to protect patients from constant exposure to rays
while performing scans.
7. Is responsible for shifting and positioning of the patient before the scan.
JOB DESCRIPTION ECHO TMT TECHNICIAN
1. Positions patients, applies medical gels and electrodes, connects and adjusts
equipment and verifies wave signals.
2. Produces high-quality imaging by accurately positioning transducer, monitoring
display, listening to signals, adjusting beam strength and focus, detecting artifacts that
mimic abnormalities, and records images.
3. Observes all safety policies and protocols for patient protection.
4. Prepares equipment and machinery for examinations
5. Ensures the equipment works correctly and identifies malfunctions
6. Perform maintenance on machinery before and after use to keep it operating as
intended.
7. Manages the inventory, indents new order as necessary and organizes stock for easy
access at all times.
8. Ensures that records are kept properly.
9. Prepares a provisional report & record the image in CD and send the provisional
report & CD images to the respective physician for reporting.
10. Demonstrate the procedure of how to walk on the TMT machine.
11. Observes the patient during the procedure.
JOB DESCRIPTION DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN
1. Is knowledgeable and competent regarding all the scientific principles of dialysis
2. Assembles the dialysis machine and ensuring its proper performance.
3. Prepare the dialysate according to the procedure that is highlighted by the physician.
4. Is responsible for transportation of patient to dialysis room and positions patient at
haemodialysis machine.
5. Monitors the patients undergoing dialysis treatment.
6. Ensures the usage of the dialysis machine is safe and secure.
7. Ensures the sterilization and cleaning of operating equipment before and after use.
8. Inspects equipment settings, including pressures, conductivity, and temperature to
ensure conformance to safety standards.
9. Monitors the vascular access of the patient.
10. Ensures the machines and the monitors are functioning properly
11. Documents the pre and post dialysis specifications like weight, temperature and the
other vital signs of the patient.
12. Is able to calculate the fluid removal rates of the patient and make sure that they are in
accordance with the prescribed and established protocols.
13. Calculates fluid removal or replacement to be achieved during dialysis procedure.
14. Monitors the urine output of the patient.
JOB DESCRIPTION CTVS ICU TECHNICIAN
1. Assist with patient mobility by regularly turning, positioning, and ambulating as well
as transferring patients to and from other units/departments.
2. Assist in taking care of the patients who require invasive hemodynamic monitoring,
mechanical ventilation, intra-aortic balloon pump.
3. Initiates CPR and activates code blue as and when required.
4. Performs and interprets electrocardiograms and other diagnostic tests.
5. Ensures all tools and equipment are in good condition and stocks supplies.
6. Checks and cleans the Anaesthesia Apparatus, Medical gases cylinders,
Laryngoscope, airways, Endotracheal tubes, connections.
