in 1939 and ended in 1945. In those 6 years he went on two death marches and went to eight
concentration camps. Although the story took place in several locations one word describe almost
all of them. That word is filthy. I will explain why that word is fitting later on.

name. While he was there he learned why he shouldn t escape because someone tried to escape
and he was shot until the SS officers machine gun ran out of bullets. Then he was sent off to the
most infamous camp called Auschwitz. Yanek was at Auschwitz until 1945. At the gates Yanek
was greeted by a guard that said you enter through the gates and exit through the chimney. While
at the camp he met a kid named Fred. Fred got very sick and couldn t work. So the Nazi s hung
him in front of all the other prisoners and said this will happen to you if you don t.Then he went

Meanings and Significations of Linguistic Terms
The language is the main communication channel for the human species. As humans are social
beings, thorough understanding of the language is essential for coherent and correct communication
that can lead to good, clear transmission of ideas, meanings and subtle nuances the way people
intend to. In former times, humans relied on symbols and drawings to make their messages known,
their system of communicationbeing quite rudimentary compared to what we have today, when the
languagehas seen an accelerated development and has grown into such broad directions that people
cannot even possibly know the entire array of meanings and significations. In the following, the
paper will go through a list of words, trying to explain what they mean and give examples of their
uses.
Idiom simply said, an idiom is a construction of words that has a figurative meaning, different from
the meanings of the words that build it. However, the figurative meaning of an idiom is not
necessarily predictable from the direct meanings of its components. To illustrate this main aspect,
perhaps the best well known example is: It s raining cats and dogs . Here, there is clearly absolutely
no reference to the animals mentioned, what the idiom points out is that it s heavily raining. The
English language (both British and American) has thousands of idioms, this showing just how
heavily important they are to the language. Another, more direct meaning of the word idiom would
be synonym to dialect , the
The Shot Heard Round the World
A shot that made headlines was one to be remembered. The Shot Heard Round the World was
regarded as a truly important event in history. It was the start of the Battle of Lexington which was
the first official battle of the Revolutionary War. On April 19th, 1775 British troops were marching
to Lexington where many militia were already awaiting their arrival. The British were after the
ammunition of the militia. Paul Revere had warned the militia ahead of time so that they could be
prepared. They removed their stockpiles of ammunition from their hiding places and moved them to
a new shelter. When the British arrived at Lexington, the militia were lined up, ready to defend
themselves. The British stopped, prepared to face the militia. They... Show more content on

Though Emerson believed it took place at the Battle of Concord, history attributes it to the Battle
at Lexington. Emerson most likely believed this because British troops were also looking for
ammunition stockpiles in Concord as well as Lexington. As previously mentioned, the militia
were already expecting the arrival of the British Troops. Six troops were being led by Major John
Pitcairn while reinforcements were being requested. The militia that awaited Pitcairn and his
troops consisted of 137 men who were assembled by Captain John Parker. The militia waited in
taverns while a few men were sent out to locate the British troops and figure out their estimated
time of arrival. Unfortunately, many of these men did not return. They were mostly arrested by the
British. A man named Thaddeus Bowman had been sent out to locate the British and returned with
news that the British were only half a mile away. Parker reassembled his militia, which now
consisted of 77 minutemen, and came face to face with Pitcairn s troops of approximately 250
soldiers. The first shot was fired, followed by others. After the smoke clear there were 8 dead
minutemen and 10 who had been injured. Only one British soldier had been injured. Though the

The Holy Spirit Of God
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses
unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the
earth. (Acts 1:8) The many works in the book of Acts were undoubtedly impossible without the
power of the Holy Spirit. In Acts alone, there are 57 references to the Holy Spirit. There is no
doubt that the Spirit was powerfully important in the early church and especially among the
apostles. Yet in order to understand how the apostles were used of the Spirit, it is imperative to
know who the Spirit is. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the
Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (1 John 5:7)

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18)

In New Testament Greek two words meaning to fill, to fulfill, to complete are used in association
with the Holy Spirit. They are πληρόω and πίμπλημι. The filling of the Holy Spirit is what
enabled these ordinary men to do the extraordinary. The filling of the Spirit is not the same as the
baptism of the Holy Spirit. Baptism of the Holy Spirit is what happens at the moment of salvation
and is permanent. When a person is filled with the Spirit it is temporary, and is a continual
process of being emptied of sin and surrendering in order to be full of the Spirit. To be filled with
the Spirit means to be completely controlled not by the flesh, but by the power of the Spirit. These
men in the book of Acts certainly knew and experienced the power of the filling of the Holy Ghost.

...they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost...

First of all, we see of the Spirit s work through the deacon and martyr, Stephen. The twelve
disciples were in need of faithful and Spirit filled men as deacons to help the widows. Stephen was
one of the first deacons chosen. Besides attending to the widows, God used Stephen to work great
wonders and miracles. Despite this, Stephen was faced with opposition to his
Reflective Essay On Self Esteem
Self acceptance is an extremely prevalent issue that numerous people struggle with. It is one of
the hardest to surmount, for it is something I still struggle with to this day. Overall, my journey is
a working progress as it will perpetuate to have its downfalls to test me. Like many of my
generation, social media has played an excessively paramount role in our lives, both negatively
and positively. Sources of harmless entertainment have also unintentionally encouraged self
judgment. Be that as it may, my perspective has been widely opened unexpectedly through a
speaker s presentation as she showed us how to recognize our self worth. Confidence and self
esteem are hard to acquire for some, but it should not be a quantity you divest yourself of. Self
acceptance of all insecurities and doubts is paramount since every individual has a unique beauty
that should be cherished in order to pursue a life full of loveand jubilance.
During my sophomore year in high school, we had a Career Day with several guest speakers.
They had split us up by gender, the girls stayed on the right side of the school while the boys
stayed on the left. We could not enter the opposite sides considering we had presentations
concretely for each group. As the boys had speakers to discuss the development of a gentleman,
we had speakers addressing topics relating to makeup and on how to be a lady. Towards the end
of the day, my friends and I decided to choose our last presentation randomly. As we entered the
room, there was this resplendent woman with a surprisingly cordial atmosphere. She addressed us
as if we were her own children; you could sense the love she had for positivity before she even
commenced to speak. She gave us a background story of her childhood during our age, for she too
had struggled with accepting herself with all her insecurities. She described her several encounters
with bullying and how it had impacted her self esteem even though she appeared so vigorous and
confident. I admired that about her the most, not once did she ever show the slightest bit of
weakness, yet she too had relatable problems. Then she mandated us to indite down the worst thing
someone had ever verbally expressed about us, even if it were of our own
Personal Narrative-The Insanity Of A Video Production Company
If you have ever involved yourself with video production companies you are aware that they can be
frustrating. When I say frustration, the point I m trying to emphasize on is that there are several to
choose from, which makes it difficult and annoying finding the right one. The finality of the
experience will literally create insanity or drinking excessively.
I was in the market for a professional video production company to help with some infomercial
companies. Literally, there are hundreds of companies to select from on the internet. Every single
one of those so called companies promised to do exactly what I wanted. Of course, they ll say
anything to get your business. When in actuality, these companies hire immature employees with no
experience, or knowledge of the task at hand. Yeah, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though I was only concerned with production videos for my infomercial companies, I found
myself intrigued at what other services they were offering. If I ever have the need for another
venture I will be calling them first. By bypassing the headaches in the first place, my life will be so
much easier and give me time to concentrate on what I do excel in.
I almost forgot to include my end results. When I received the finished videos I couldn t contain
myself and my enthusiasm. My videos exceeded far beyond my expectations. I was so excited to
get them up and running. I just knew from the quality and sincere dedication that they were going
to be well received by the public. My infomercial companies are thriving and I am beginning to
receive a lot of positive feedback. Success is just within my grasp; it s hard not to boast about a
company who has created excellence.
Please take my advice, before you go on a mad hunt to find a production company that is not all
cracked up to be what they say they are, first call Vertex Media. I ve provided the companies contact
information to make the process
Carthage And Rome Similarities
Carthage and Rome were nations that were both well known for the power and strength, as well
as impressiveness, of its nations. Carthage was a strong nation whose power was mighty, and
start was shrouded in mystery. The origin of Carthage, like that of Rome, is almost lost in the
clouds of tradition. An old story tells us how Queen Dido was driven from Tyre and landed in
Africa, as Aeneas did in Italy, with a band of fugitives. It is said that Dido purchased from the
African princes as much land as an oxhide would cover; and cunningly cut the hide into thin strips
and encircled enough land, upon which to found a city. (Morey, 1915)
One similarity between Carthage and Rome was government. Carthage had two chief magistrates
and a council of elders. This was similar to the Roman consuls and senate, respectively. Rome was
different in that in involved every Roman male citizen and was a but of a direct democracy.
Carthage was truly ruled by a select few prominent families. While, Carthage didn t have the love
of its people in its decision making it was helpful that their army was under the control of a solid
leader. Despite this, Rome had a much more effective army and Carthage was a naval powerhouse.
Carthage much better in terms of physical wealth and resources but Rome had a well supported (and
much more stable) political systems since they had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Christian and Pagan Ideals in Beowulf
Before the invention of the printing press or written history, oral history, especially in early
Germanic culture, became the foremost means of transcribing values, and past events. Written down
in approximately 1,000 A.D. by an unknown author, Beowulf, originally a pagan fable, became a
Christian allegory upon its transcription by Christian monks. However, as scholars have debated
over the religious context in Beowulf, the attempts by the monks to turn the epic poem into a
Christian parable ended merged, including both original and Christian aspects. Throughout Beowulf,
the epic combines pagan ideals of fate or wyrd and the will of God, the similar concepts of the
afterlife, and the contrasting ideas of the individual. In Beowulf, a... Show more content on

Other themes arise in Beowulf concerning Christian principles when King Hrothgar speaks because
the majority of his speeches allude to Christian imagery:
God may always work wonder upon wonder, the Guardian of Heaven...Now through the Lord s
might a warrior has accomplished the deed that all of us with our skill could not perform (17).

After the battle with Grendel, King Hrothgar elaborates on the mightiness of the Lord, and the
salvation that He gives to the Danes in the form of Beowulf. Upon the defeat of Grendel and his
mother, Hrothgar presents Beowulf with several splendid gifts, but reminds him keep yourself
against the wickedness, beloved Beowulf, best of men, and choose better eternal gains. Have no
care for pride... (31). Foreshadowing the necessary qualities that Beowulf uses in his reign,
Hrothgar reminds Beowulf to take precautions on the spoils of warfare, and avoid the deadly sin
of pride. After the death of Hygleac, Beowulf rises to the throne due to his respectful and altruistic
nature, not because of some divine right. Despite the religious allegories of Hrothgar s speeches and
Beowulf s gratitude to the Lord, most of the poem retains the underlying pagan ideal of fate. The
concept of the afterlife in Beowulf becomes one of the major similarities between the underlying
pagan idealism and the Christian allegory attempted by the monks. In both religions the concept of
the afterlife involves
