A- CHESS GAME PRESENTATION

1- BRIEF HISTORY OF CHESS

Chess is an abstract combinatorial board game for two players. The history of chess is over
1500 years old. It appears in Asia between the third and the sixth century and since then, chess
is practiced throughout the whole world.

After a standardization process, the chess game in his modern form is now widespread
throughout the world, and is practice by several players, freely or affiliated with clubs and
national federations. Competitions are organized at all levels, including world championships
and the Olympics under the aegis of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

In Cameroon, the Cameroonian chess federation (FECADE), for nearly a decade, has
been organizing for each sporting season national and regional tournament for each category
(women, open, etc.) and many exhibition sessions to publicize the game. In the littoral region,
there are many clubs like the Douala Intellectual Sport Club (DISC) where this discipline has
been intensely practiced for competition and leisure purposes for almost eight years.
