📝 Problems I Faced During GST Registration
● I don’t have a property nor my Father/mother. So I approached a family member's
property but they already had a GST registered on the property, preventing me from
using the same address.
● Address Requirements: If a property already has a GST registered, you cannot
apply for another GST on the same address. There must be a clear distinction in the
address (e.g., floor number, unit number). In my case all the floors have the same
address.
● Residential Property Rejections: Nowadays, GST applications from residential
properties are often rejected. ( An Auditor told me this while discussing for my
registration)
● Mandatory Monthly Filing: After registration, GST returns must be filed every
month without fail to avoid penalties and maintain compliance.
● Need for NOC: If the property is owned by a family member, a No Objection
Certificate (NOC) is needed.
● I don't have any other option. I have to go with rental spaces to get a GST. There is
no other option and it is adding extra cost to the business. If you are in the same
situation don't worry you are not alone.
💡 Tips for GST Registration
● Keep both digital and physical copies of documents ready.
● Double-check your PAN and Aadhaar details for any mismatches.
● Choose a reliable auditor to avoid unnecessary delays. It is always best to go with a
good auditor they know the process.
● Track your application status using the GST portal.
Note: This checklist and experience are based on my personal journey of registering for
GST. Prices and procedures may vary based on your region and auditor. Always verify with
your auditor for accurate information.
