Microorganisms can easily be found in water. In third world countries, this can pose a huge
threat, because lots of people can get sick from drinking water. SODIS is a method used by many
in undeveloped countries as means of attaining microbe free water. It involves allowing water to
stay exposed to sunlight in order to kill whatever microbes are living in it. For this experiment,
microbial diversity was determined by collecting a sample of water of different from shaded water
and water directly hit by the sunlight. Microbes were then cultured for 7 days. The abundance of the
different colony types was then counted. Results exhibited that the community from the light area
was more biodiverse. It was concluded that a possible reason for this is due to the different
structures of bacteria, allowing some of them to sustain the light and others to be restricted by it.

In order of social status, they were the preps, the jocks, the wannabe preps, the general population
(which included nerds and any outliers whose cliques were undefined), and lastly were the
individuals labeled freaks by those of higher status. When I started high school, I almost
immediately noticed the status and power of the girls who were part of the preppy clique. Even
without being actively informed, everyone seemed to be conscious of their esteem, and this was
not lost on me. During an interview I conducted with former classmate Blake LeBlanc, I asked
him if he was aware of a status system on our campus to which he replied. Ha! Of course... I blind

Mother to Son by Langston Hughes was written in 1922 by Langston Hughes. The poem first

Colored People. Langston Hughes was born February 1, 1902 in Joplin, Missouri to James Nathaniel
and Carrie Mercer Langston Hughes. Hughes mother and father separate shortly after his birth. His
father moved to Mexico in pursuit of a better life and his mother moved often from state to state
because of financial difficulties. Hughes lived with his grandmother until her death in 1910. He then
went to live with family and friends and later settled in Illinois with his mother. Hughes attended

or region. They can help connect people with places, and through this loyalty, a sense of civic pride
can be seen. Furthermore, the multi billion dollar industry sports produces effects that can impact
individuals and communities. In recent years dozens of new sports stadiums have been built
throughout the country, with major funding coming from public subsidies. The aim of this paper is to
analyze the positive and negative impacts that come with these subsidies.
The issue at hand, however, is that power has shifted from the cities to the teams themselves.

For this assessment I chose to observe my six month old daughter, Abigail, interacting with her
mother, Melissa. Abigail is our third child and Melissa is comfortable with her role as mother.
Abigail was born full term and is a healthy baby. All developmental milestones have been reached up

Abigail and her mom began the morning with Abigail getting dressed. She smiled and cooed at her

Abigail reacted with pre language skills of babbling while the music played and Melissa
responded back to her sounds. Because Abigail was able to get a response with her actions and
sounds, she repeated them demonstrating that she is beginning to understand cause and effect.
Clearfield and Nelson (2006) pointed out in their research that mothers were more likely to offer
toys to their infants and engage in conventional play which we see Melissa doing during this
observation. When Abigail became fussy, mother picked her up from the floor and began to walk her
