Excel Functions Cheat Sheet

Logic and Info Functions

AND, OR, NOT - Logical tests; combine multiple conditions.


IF - Returns value based on a condition: =IF(A1>10, "Yes", "No")
IFERROR, IFNA - Return a value if an error or #N/A occurs.
ISBLANK, ISNUMBER, ISTEXT, ISODD, ISEVEN, ISNA, ISERR, ISERROR - Test for conditions or types.

Math and Statistical Functions

SUM, PRODUCT, ABS, POWER, SQRT - Basic math operations.


ROUND, ROUNDUP, ROUNDDOWN, INT, MOD, QUOTIENT - Rounding and modular arithmetic.
COUNT, COUNTA, COUNTBLANK - Count values, non-blanks, blanks.
COUNTIF, COUNTIFS, SUMIF, SUMIFS - Count/Sum with conditions.
AVERAGE, AVERAGEIF, AVERAGEIFS - Average with optional criteria.
MAX, MIN, LARGE, SMALL, MEDIAN, [Link] - Central tendency.
[Link], [Link] - Ranking with/without ties.
VAR.S, VAR.P, STDEV.S, STDEV.P - Variance/standard deviation.
RAND, RANDBETWEEN - Random values.

Date and Time Functions

DATE, TIME, NOW, TODAY - Return or construct date/time.


DAY, MONTH, YEAR, HOUR, MINUTE, SECOND - Extract parts of date/time.
DATEVALUE, TIMEVALUE - Convert text to date/time.
DAYS, WEEKDAY, YEARFRAC - Date intervals, weekday number, year fraction.

Text Functions

CONCATENATE - Join text values (TEXTJOIN is modern alternative).


LEFT, RIGHT, MID - Extract text parts.
LEN - Count characters.
FIND, SEARCH - Find position of text (FIND is case-sensitive).
REPT - Repeat text.
LOWER, UPPER, PROPER - Change case.
REPLACE, SUBSTITUTE - Replace text by position or substring.
TRIM - Remove extra spaces.
EXACT - Compare two texts exactly.
TEXT - Format value as text.
VALUE - Convert text to number.

Lookup Functions

ROW, COLUMN, ROWS, COLUMNS - Row/Column numbers and counts.


INDEX, OFFSET, ADDRESS, INDIRECT - Reference cells dynamically.

CHOOSE - Pick value by index.


MATCH - Position of value in range.
VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP - Search table vertically or horizontally.
Tip: Use XLOOKUP in modern Excel.
