Variance Analysis Advantages And Disadvantages
INTRODUCTION

This report will enhance and illustrate the way and uses of variance analysis. It will aims to separate
and juxtapose the budgeted and actual spending of the company production line. At the end of the
analysis, it will identifies the company s weaknesses and states where it needs improvements for
instance on materials, wages and labour.
Consequently, the report will further elaborate on the approach behind variance analysis and to
achieve a good result, an instance study on London Plc stand costing and actual expenses will be
cited. Furthermore, it will demonstrate the drawbacks of using this approach and the reasons why it
is almost impractical for several companies.
VARIANCE ANALYSIS
Conceptually, the word Standard means a Measure. The term Standard Costs refers to Pre
determined costs. Brown and Howard define Standard Cost as a Pre determined Cost, which
determines what each product or service, should cost under given circumstances. This definition
states that standard ... Show more content on [Link] ...
The frequent change in governments, policies, laws and principles in the societies have been one of
the major issue facing a smooth and efficient application of standard costing and variance analysis by
most businesses in the societies Nutton E.S (2008).
Standard costing cannot be applied in the case of a concern where non standardized products are
produced: An important issue that requires consideration in the adoption and application of standard
costing and variance analysis system is the issue of having a standardized product peculiar to
organizations. In a situation where by an organization is not engaged in the production of a
standardized or identified product, the application of a standard costing system cannot be
Victims of Rape and Torture in India
No woman should ever have to feel scared or threatened every single day of her life. No woman
should have to look over her shoulder while walking down the street. No society should turn the
other cheek when they see something wrong happening. According to the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights, no one has the right to hurt you or torture you. Laws like this exist everywhere yet
there are women having to face the danger of being attacked at any moment. There are big threats
such as rape and other forms of torture that women in certain countries have to live in fear of
everyday. Women are targeted all around the world. Two counties in which this problem is very
prevalent are India and Pakistan. These two countries are not the only places in which this happens
but recently, there have been even more instances of these types of attacks. In India, rape has been a
very pressing issue for quite some time, but it wasn t until recently that action was taken. According
to Indian government statistics, a womanis raped every 22 minutes on average . That means 65
women are raped every day. Acid attacks, a kind of torture where a person gets acid thrown in their
face, is a very big issue in Pakistan. In 2013, there were 143 acid attacks registered with the Acid
Survivors Foundation. The Acid Survivors Foundation, a Pakistani advocacy group for victims,
estimates that 150 attacks occur each year. This is just an estimate because there are many attacks
that go unreported. Reasons for
Why College Students Dropout
With the current fluctuations in the economy and instability in the job market, it has become
extremely important to have a diploma from high school and a higher education. Despite the success
associated with education, the country is being faced with high rates of college dropout. Dropping
out of school results in social integration failure. This leads to subsequent diminishment of an
individual s chances of attaining personal success in fields that are legally accepted. The reduction
and deterrence of this phenomenon are difficult to accomplish because of the high intricacy of its
causes. A just identification and exploration of the factors causing collegestudents to drop out would
be helpful in revealing the necessary course of action to assume and result in a diminution and
prevention of cases of college dropout. Many college students drop out of school because of
economic needs, poor academic performances, and lack of advising. Economic needs affect college
students hindering them from progressing easily with their learning (Beatty 16). Theoretically,
learners do not pay to receive public education from first grade to twelfth grade for the reason...

Everyone thinks about how his or her future will turn out. Some individuals have experienced
success because during their time in college they were in full contact with their advisors, had no
financial problems, and performed well because they were self controlled. Other students, for
various reasons, drop out of college and fail to live up to their life expectations. Dropping out of
school results in social integration failure. This leads to the subsequent diminishment of an
individual s chances of attaining personal success in fields that are legally accepted. The reduction
and deterrence of this phenomenon are difficult to accomplish because of the high intricacy of its
Ethical Issues In Training Day
In 2001, Training Day, a police drama film speaks on the issues of lacking integrity,
professionalism, ethics, and misconduct that heavily violate the police department s policy. This
film was constructed on the basis of a scandal that occurred in the Los Angeles Police Department.
In this film, veteran officer Alonzo Harris trains Jake Hoyt a young rookie that is on his first
training dayfor potentially joining the narcotics unit. Throughout the film, Harris tests Hoyt by
telling him to perform acts of misconduct that breach the department s policy. Hoyt is a young
officer who is fresh out of the academy expecting to use everything that he was taught in his job
duties. Hoyt s character is illustrated as having integrity, remaining truthful,... Show more content on

When one endures negative confrontations with the police, it is quite difficult to get rid of the
belief that police officers are corrupt. One negative experience often tampers one s judgement.
This is seen as a detrimental factor when trying to reconstruct pro social relationships with the
police. On September 20, 2017, probation officer Oscar Calderon from L.A. county was found
guilty for assaulting female minors in juvenile hall. Calderon was arrested in January and charged
with four counts of assault under color of authority and two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with
a child. Prosecutors said that the victims ranged in age from 15 to 18 and that the abuse began in
2014 (Queally, 2017). Calderon held a supervisory position in the department using it to his own
convenience to get the females to comply to having sex with him. It was noted that other supervisors
at Camp Scudder ignored the accusations from the young females, allowing the abuse to continue.
The results of this case concluded in a pending lawsuit against the county for the probation staff that
were informed by the victims of the assault yet remained silent allowing the abuse to continue.
Calderon was dismissed from the county and is no
Everyone Should Have The Right To Doctor Assisted Suicide
As a child, every one ponders all of the many career opportunities they can become one day. As a
teenager, everyone wants to fit in and find the love of their life. As an adult, most people have
their lives figured out. Most have graduated with some form of degree, have a job, happily
married to the love of their life and has children with them. No one considers what age has to bring
with it. Sickness is everywhere; it is almost inevitable. No one wants to contemplate being an
elderly person who is helpless and terminally ill. People who suffer from terminal illnesses should
have the right to doctor assisted suicidesince every person has the right to personal control over his
or her body; quality of life should supersede quantity of life, and euthanasia is more humane than
slowly suffering. The terminally ill should have the right to doctor assisted suicide since every
person has the right to personal control over his or her body. Every individual has personal morals.
No one wants to suffer while others, especially family, can do nothing but simply watch them perish.
Everyone has the right to a peaceful death. A woman, carrying an unborn baby, has the choice to
keep the baby or abort it. We give women the right to murder innocent, unborn babies who have
never even seen the world, therefore, terminally ill people... Show more content on [Link] ...
Every individual has dignity. Even dignity in death. Death is not something anyone is ready for, but
when it is inevitable, a person can prepare themselves to perish with their dignity still intact. People
who become terminally ill, sometimes experience a sense of physical indignation. They become a
total dependent on others. Occasionally, people also have an occurrence of emotional indignation.
They become incensed with not only themselves but with others as well. Their needs reflect upon
everyone else, resulting in the patient feeling
Comparing Sagan And Plato s Allegory Of The Cave
Sagan and Plato are two authors who write about different theories on how humans learn. Sagan
believes that people are interested in exploring the truth. On the other hand, Plato believes that
humans would rather be taught the truth. In the world that Plato and Sagan suggests, there is no
room for spiritual beliefs. In Allegory of the Cave, Platouses examples or humans in a cave that
cannot move to support his theory. In Can We Know the Universe, Sagan uses a grain of salt to
support his theory. Both Plato and Sagan make interesting points to support their theories.
Plato s Allegory of the Cave makes a better case for his point of view that humans are most happy in
the world of shadows where the truth is provided for us. In Allegory of the Cave he states: Being
self taught, they cannot be expected to show any gratitude for a culture which they have never
received (Plato 205). He gives a great example by using the people in the cave. In the cave with
only a light of fire and no way to move around, it is no way of knowing that what they see or hear is
in fact real. Until someone can teach them about the shadows, they have no way of knowing the truth
about them. Outer space can be used as another example. Not everyone has the opportunity or interest

For this reason, there is no room for spiritual belief. A spiritual belief is believing that there is
more to the world than what is seen. A person s spiritual beliefs are not based on science. In
Allegory of the Cave Plato says: Men would say of him that up he went and down he came
without his eyes; and that it was better not even to think of ascending; (203) For example, a
person that is spiritual can believe that once you pass, your soul is recycled and born again into
another body. There is no way to prove this theory. If one were to try to explain this to others
without any proof, it would be difficult for people to believe
Business Vs. Government Owned Business
Most Military Soldiers believe that when they get out of the Military and start a business that there
is only one type of business they can own. They also believe that they will not have any problems
in achieving their own business goals and will have stability in that business. This is why they have
to set long and short term goals. Look at privately owned businessvs. government owned business
and the pros and cons of making your choice of business. When making that choice of either
business type education level, wages, benefits, and total compensation are an affecting factor to a
positive or negative outcome.

Accomplishment, Issues, and Concerns

The state of this project, including accomplishment, issues, and concerns are as followed: when
doing the research, finding sufficient information to support the entire topic outline is difficult to
find, narrow down, and changes from country to country. However, the choice of privately owned
business vs. government owned business have been broken down into a small sample population of
ten Military Soldiers out of twenty five that are attending a class called, Boots to Business. While
looking at the pros and cons of education level, wages, benefits, and total compensation, one can
become somewhat familiar with the research topic by experience, while testing the validity,
reliability, and obtain the purpose of this research. The ten Soldier names and identity will stay
confidential and private; unless otherwise
The Old South In The Rose For Emily
In the Rose for Emily, there is a present struggle between the new south and old south. The two
main characters in the story are Emily Grierson and Homer Barron. Emily represents the old
south while Homer represents the new south. Emily has been raised by her father who follows
the old south rules very strictly, so therefor she acts as if she still lives in the south. Homer on the
other hand is a Yankee and is seen as an underclass in the south. The old south reflects very
heavily on Emily as she follows the rules very strictly. She follows the etiquette, the rules, and the
customs. Emily clings to the past in a strong way as many southern people do. She refuses to pay
her taxes for Colonel Sartoris told her she did not have to pay them. The
