Explain the concept of sell appraisal aand ow an it contribute to personal

behaviour and personality trait identification.

Employee self -appraisal involves asking the employee to self-evaluate his


o her job performance and other persona requeriments.

Self-appraisals can be used as basis for discussion during the annual


performance review meeting.It may help an employee to be more aware
os their strengths and weaknesses, to acknowledge the need for
development and understand their perssonalty impacts their work
environment.

2. Explain the concept of peeer appraisal and outline one benefit of peer
appraisal.

Peer appraisal is employee asswessments conducted by colleagues in the


immediate working environment i.e., the people the employee interacts
with regularity.

Peer appraisal processes exclude managers.

Peer appraisal are a form of performance appraisal designed to monitor


and omprove job performance.

Commonly cited advantages of the peer appraisal process include:

-Isingt and acknowledge;workers have their ‘ear to the ground’ and are
often in the best position to appraise a colleague’s performance.

-Encourages a moore inclusive team dynamic, and development of shared


goals as workers realise, they must impress their colleagues and respond
to their ideas, concerns and needs.

3.Ouline three benefits for an individual of planning work.

-Assiste in setting and prioritising tasks that need to be completed.

-You know what you neeed to achieve during a specific time period.

-Provides a basis for discussing progress with the manager or supervisor.

-Links to organizational priorities and ensures these are followed.

4.Outline each of the letters

Specific:Well defined, and clear to anyone that has a basic knowledge of


the project.
Measurable:An objective statement of completion, preferably a hard
number that lets anyone with a basic knowledge of the project understand
when it has been achieved.

Accountable:Agreement with all the stakeholders as to what the goals


should be and who is accountab le and responsible for what.

Realistic:Within the availability of resources, knowledge and time, can the


goal be met and is there concurrence between the supervisor and
employee on achieving the goal.

Time Bound: A clear date is provided and enough time to achieve the
specific measurable result.

5.Discuss the concept of the Pareto Principle in relation to time


management

The Pareto Principle suggests that for most us, most of the time, 80% of
what wee achieve comes from just 20% of what we do. In others words,
there is a huge imbalance between effort and results.

6.Explain the concept of work-life balance

Work-life balance is about ensuring that work (career and ambition) and
lifestyle (health, pleasure, leisure, family, spiritual development and
meditation) is in balance.In thers words, that a person’s work is not taking
over their life.

7. Outline….

-Practice relaxation techniques or meditation

-Eat a well-balance, healthi diet.

-Get enough sleep

-Set small. Manageable and achievable goals.

-Apply problem-solving techniques:identifying the probkem, clarifying its


nature and map out options for dealing with it.

-Develop, keep and use your sense of humor.

-Offering flexible working hours so that staff can, for example, fit in a gym
session in the morning, or take their children to school.

-Discussing performance with a manager and identifying skills gaps.

praactising.
