Our first encounters with honeybees were long ago, most likely in Africa. Someone discovered
probably simultaneously that these tree dwelling insects produced a sweet, sticky substance unlike
any other, and that they had stings in their tails.

When fire became portable, someone else discovered that smoke caused bees to become more
amenable to robbing.

Some time later, a more settled tribe found that they could house bees in baskets or pots, which
saved them the trouble of climbing trees to get the honey, and the craft of beekeeping was born. Pots,
baskets and logs continued in use for many centuries, and while proficient beekeepers would have
understood a good deal of the behaviour of their charges, the inner secrets of the hive remained
closed from observers until the end of the 18th century, when a blind Swiss by the name of François
Huber found them out through the medium of his faithful and sighted servant, Burnens. Huber s
New Observations on the Natural History of Bees remains a classic to this day.

Examples Of Truth In The Virgin Suicides
French novelist Gustave Flaubert once said, There is no Truth. There is only perception. Since the
1800s, when this quote was given, it still holds true. This quote puts the idea that no one really
knows the truth, and what is believed to be the truth is merely the perception through which it is
seen, into words. A modern day example of truthbeing used is seen in the movie The Virgin
Suicides. This movie is about a group of neighborhood boys who become obsessed with the five
Lisbon sisters who were strictly controlled by their overbearing, protective, religious parents.
Throughout the movie, viewers watch the Lisbon sisters and their downward spiral to mental illness
that ultimately took each of their lives. The movie was all told from the neighborhood boy s
perspective.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first example is in the opening scene the youngest sister, Cecilia, was rushed to the hospital
after being found with her wrists slit in her bathroom. After the incident, it was left to
neighborhood speculation about what had happened. The neighborhood boys believed her suicide
attempt was committed because of her heartbreak with Dominic Palazzolo, a boy from school. The
doctor believed it was merely a cry for help and the Lisbon sisters believed their sister was lonely
and unhappy. All the while Cecilia knows the true reason why she attempted to take her own life,
and that was because of her overbearing parents who refused to let her live out her childhood. This
opening scene is related to the theme of truth because, as Flaubert stated in his quote, no one truly
knows the truth. It is based on how one perceived the incident. Each of the characters perceived
Cecilia s suicide attempt completely differently from the way she
Return To Port Charles
The rumors have been brewing for a while, and it has now been confirmed that Helena Cassadine
is still alive and returning to General Hospital. Today the show went to their Facebook page and
shared the details that Helena is coming back. This is after it was announced a while back that she
was dead, but you know that nobody is ever really dead on a soap opera. Helena left several things to
people in Port Charles, and it really did seem that she was finally dead. Helena is seen in a new
preview for General Hospital, and all that she says in the preview is You know, Port Charles is a
very mysterious place. You never know who s going to come on.

The preview doesn t confirm very much just that Helena Cassadine is coming back to Port
Charles once again. Celeb Dirty Laundry did have a few more details about her return. Everyone
knows that Jason Morgan was headed to Cassadine Island to try and figure out why his son Jake was
afraid of him. He knows that he was the scarecrow, but not exactly what Jake saw him do or how
bad it really was for him while there. Of course, going to Cassadine Island during May sweeps on
General Hospital is going to be more than just a simple trip. It sounds like Helena will be back for
the big Nurse s Ball, which is the perfect time for the drama to heat up in Port Charles. Spencer
Cassadine is also supposed to be in town for the ball. Fans are excited to see the little boy return but
hope that he is safe with Helena in town. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of these two going head to head is going to be an epic showdown for sure. This will be
everyone against Helena because it is going to be really hard for her to find anyone on her side.
Helena does love her grandchildren, so that is the one good thing she has going for her. Maybe she
will at least protect them if she can do

Agricultural production entails investment of resources and farmers will have no incentive for
making investments in areas where there is little opportunity for marketing their products or if the
returns accruing from the sales of agricultural products do not reflect the opportunity cost of
investment. As a result, most farmers in areas with few marketing opportunities are engaged
primarily in subsistence agriculture, which has constrained improvement in their quality of life [3].
The problem of market access is linked to the inability of farmers to meet market standards, low
volumes of produce, wide dispersion of producers, presence of middlemen and perceived low prices
in the formal market [1 7]. Therefore, development policies in Ghana have focused on the
modernization and commercialization of the agricultural sector in addressing the major agricultural
production and marketing challenges.
[8,9]. The development policy of the Food and Agricultural Sectors II (FASDEP II) is notably
among these policies. It seeks to increase both the competitiveness and integration of farmers in
domestic and international markets by producing the required volumes as well as the quality of
commodities on a timely basis. Specifically, strategies adopted by this policy to

The Colonial Period Of American Literature
The Colonial Period in American Literature Blake Quickel The Colonial Period of American
Literature was vital not only to the timeline of literature in our country, but it shaped the values and
tradition that we identify America with. Literature from this period gives us a look into the
beginnings of our country from different views such as Poems and stories from Native culture,
Puritans, and the founding fathers. These writings give us an honest view of the way of life during
this time. The Puritanwritings we read in this class were very interesting in how they showed the
early stages of America s religion. Although religion in our government and our country s values
has become less and less extreme over time, it is amazing knowing how much control it had over
society in our country s beginnings; and many of the morals exorcised in the Puritan culture are still
values relevant to our society today. In a reading from the Introduction: Puritan Voices assignment
(a), the writer refers to the Massachusetts Bay Colony as a man s world , describing the limited roles
of women in society and how men were portrayed in the church as superior. Puritan ministers often
preached that the soul had two parts, the immortal masculine half, and the mortal feminine half.
Gender inequality is an enormous part of American Literature throughout all periods, and here you
can see where these values originated in our country. Puritan society exists as a valid demonstration
for why the first

The increasing complexity of business operations and the ever changing conditions of business
environment such as the economic, social, technological political development as well as
Government policies, make it increasingly difficult for a company to consistently earn profit that
would constitute a fair return on the capital invested. There is thus the need to employ modern
management tools to improve manager s efficiency in order to guarantee a steady return on capital
invested.

1.2 DECISION MAKING AND MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING INFORMATION.

Decision making is purposeful selection from among a set of alternatives in the light of a given
objective. (Oyedijo 1996) Decision making is not a separate function of management; in fact
decision making is intertwined with the other functions such as planning, co ordinating and
controlling. Chiefly among all these functions is planning which is described as the foremost and
most basic of all management functions and the skill with which it is performed determines to a
large extent the success of all operations of an organisation.

In planning, managers outline the steps to be taken in moving the organisation towards its
objectives. The decision making aspect of management function however ensure that best alternative
is selected to achieve the objectives. Budgeting plays a vital role in planning and that has a direct

The Doctrine of Christian Universalism

Universalism is perhaps the greatest unspoken premise of modern thought within the Christian
church.
N.T wright The salvation of humankind has been always presented in 3 possible positions: 1)
none will be saved, 2) some will be saved, or 3) all will be saved. The traditional Christian
teaching has been always focused on the second position and maintained that only some of people
will be saved. But there have been ongoing debates within this position about who exactly will be
the saved group? And what will be the condition of the lost ones?

Christian Universalism is a school of Christian theology that is focused on the doctrine of universal
salvation. This doctrine holds the third position and believes that eventually all human beings,
regardless of their faith, will be saved and will enjoy everlasting life with Christ. This doctrine has
been presented differently by those who advocated it throughout the centuries and various labels
have been used to refer to this doctrine, including Universal restoration , universal restitution ,
universal reconciliation , and universal salvation. Universalism is also closely related with other
complicated theological issues, such as the relationship between God s nature, his love and His
justice, free will and predestination, and the retributive punishment. Therefore, it
