KG1 (FS2) Expectations on Entry Date:

• In UAE, a child may join FS2 if he/she is 4years by 31st August.


• KG1 is equivalent to FS2 in a school that runs the English National Curriculum.
• Therefore, expectations for entry are in line with FS2 expectations in UK.
• A child would need to attend FS1 or nursery prior to joining FS2, in order to have basic foundation literacy, social &
numeracy skills.

A child should be able to achieve at least expected or exceeding level in age band of 3-4years
