Evaluating The New Process For Managing Priorities At...
Q1) During the 10 years from 1992 through 2002, VWoA considered IT as a source of overhead and
prioritized more on marketing and selling activities by allocating all the available funds. According
to Matulovic, the major issues at VWoA were not related to IT but rather to the ambiguity that
surrounded governance and development process.
Assessment of the new process for managing priorities at Volkswagen of America?
Significantly, he empowered PMO (program management Office) that focuses on proper planning
prior to execution phase in order to generate on schedule and on budget projects. Hence,
Matulovic satisfied that projects are working in a right manner. In order to choose the right
projects to fund, the new process was implemented which is very organized, more structured and
select projects based on the business requirements/scope. Several Organizational entities played a
role in creating and managing a new process for managing priorities at VWoA. The focus of new
process have been on aligning IT projects with Organizational goals i.e., each of the top three
projects of business units should map to one of the major enterprise goals. Since the budget is
limited ($60 million capped by VWAG), the funds are allocated to the projects which are highly
prioritized by their business units. Business architecture played an important role in formalizing
governance and prioritization process as it provided means of categorizing organization activities
including IT projects and
Pros And Cons Of Data Security
On Piotrowski et al\cite{Piotrowski}, the authors present a collaborative data storage (tinyDSM)
middleware that addresses the common problems of store data on wireless sensor networks
(WSN) using data replication on nodes of the network. However, in the proposal, the decision of
the node to assume the role of data replicators is static and uses a random criterion depends only on
the number of nodes and density of the network. It s created some problems if that node disappears
from the network.

On Lieskovsky et al\cite{Lieskovsky}, the authors present a solution for data distribution and
replication in VANET(Vehicle Ad hoc Networks) that allows the perception the whole VANET
system as a simple distributed database system. However, the ... Show more content on

One local layer that performs a preprocessing of data and later replicates them to a layer that is
centralized in the cloud. Although the proposed address addresses a relevant problem in the IoT
area, the work does not address the persistence of data at the edge of the network, considering the
dynamic environment of Mist computing.

On Confais et al\cite{Confais} the authors evaluate through performance analysis three off the shelf
object store solutions, namely Rados, Cassandra and InterPlanetary File
System (IPFS) in Fog context environment. However, the used software platforms need devices with
some computation processing power, so it is not applicable for simple devices, often found it in IoT
environment.

A first step to address the data persistence problem in the environment of Fog/Mist computing
(DPPF), it is to model the problem formally. Therefore, given $D$, a data block of size $L$, which
it wants to persist in the environment of Fog/Mist computing. Let s define $F$ as the network
devices located at the edge of the network, and dynamically composed by $n$ active devices at time
stamp $t$, among a total possible of $N_{t}$ devices. Therefore, let s assume that the set $F$ at
the moment $t$ can be represented by a graph $G(V, E)$. Where the set of vertex $V$ are the $n$
active devices at the instant $t$, and $E$ the set of edges formed by the communication link
between them.

In our approach, the devices that are part of $F$ at instant $t$,

Introduction: The development of gender as we know it.

How does history relate to our genders?

Most introductions to gender studies start telling us how basic one s gender is. The first thing
they said when you were born was: it s a girl! or it s a boy! and the first thing people notice about
you is your gender (quotations from a gender course). The two gender order is pervasive indeed.
This paper tries to give an insight into the historical development of the two gender order and more
specifically transgender identity. Some people who read this paper may be questioning their gender.

Once, after a lecture I did on the topic of this paper at the University of Amsterdam, a TG member
of the audience got up and said the material from this paper clearly showed the two gender system
to be a shared psychosis. She had stepped outside this psychosis and had decided against medical
treatment. I felt s/he misunderstood what the lecture was about. No one should allow him or
herself to be critically influenced by a description of large societal developments through time,
which have set the stage for today s life. The depth of our own sense of gender is rooted in our
personal histories. Most children grow up trying to be a good son or a good daughter, to a father
who wants to be a good
The Grapes Of Wrath By John Steinbeck
Pecunia Præstat Hominibus A United Kingdoms survey found that child parent relationships are
breaking down as parents put work before their children, especially in middle class families
(Ross). This statistic can explain many of the darker portions of our culture, from the lack of
complete families to the increase of drug abuse. Yet one may wonder how this is in any way
connected to the novel, The Grapes of Wrath. However, both the statistic and the novel have a
similar theme Money being placed before people. John Steinbeckendeavors to teach us how
dangerous and common this mindset can be through his novel. Although there are some instances of
the Okies aiding one another, money before people is a central theme in The Grapes of Wrath
because it is the main source of motivation for the antagonism displayed towards the Okies. money
before people is a common, recurring theme in the novel. As soon as the fifth chapter of The Grapes
of Wrath, this theme is introduced. When the landowners come to take the Okies lands, the narrator
introduces the theme as an invisible monster. He remarks, Some of (the landowners) hated the
mathematics that drove them, and some were afraid, and some worshiped the mathematics because
it provided a refuge from thought and from feeling. If a bank or a finance company owned the land,
the owner man said, The Bank or the Company needs wants insists must have as though the Bank or
the Company were a monster, with thought and feeling, which had
Analysis Of Mrs. Mallard In The Story Of An Hour
Death s Loving Embrace
Love does not claim possession, but gives freedom, this quote written by the famous nineteenth
century poet, Rabindranath Tagore, highlights the underlining belief: if one loves or is truly loved
it will free them in body and soul. In the Story of an Hour, it s brings to light the death of someone
who shares a bond with several, modest people. Billy Mallard is a husband, a son, and a friend.
Yet, instead of his passing remaining an unfortunate incident his wife, Mrs. Mallard, is
opportunistic and turns it into a joyous occasion. However, she finds that he s alive and as their
meet eyes again for the last time, their union embodies the phrase death do us part. Mrs. Mallard
earns her escape at the helm of the death s one way trip. Within the Story of an Hour, Mrs.
Mallard embodies the classic form of a non sympathetic character: she shifts to joy about her
husband s death quickly, she has a lack of concern for others who are grieving, and her glee at her
future solo endeavor.

In death, usually one recalls moments with the deceased, yet Mrs. Mallard alters her sadness to joy
rather quickly. Mrs. Mallard is a woman of privilege; she doesn t have to do hard labor, since she
has two white slender hands (Chopin 235). This means that she isn t in an environment that has a lot
of dangers around her, and women in the nineteenth century usually stay in their homes. She wouldn
t have gotten the chance to become desensitize to the concept of death. As a

By effectively addressing the above considerations, an organisation can be in a position to

Essay on American Women Leaving the Home and Going to Work
One of the most significant sociological changes in the nation s history began in the last decade of
the nineteenth century and the ramifications are still being felt today. This change consisted of the
large numbers of women who entered the work force. This dramatic change in American society
was accompanied by a great deal of controversy and prejudice directed towards women. It was
predicted that femaleemployment would bring about the downfall of society and the change of the
American family.
While a large portion of the public was appalled by the thought of independent young working
women, they were also fascinated. Therefore, the attitudes of the public toward these women can be
seen in the literature that was produced at that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, the prejudice against female workers essentially allowed their employers at the various
factories to blame the women themselves for their low wages. The standard argument was that these
women did not need to work. Part of this concept was that these women were supported by fathers,
brothers, etc. and only wanted the jobs so they would have money for nice clothes and extras .
Despite numerous government statistics that demonstrated financial need by many female workers,
the prevailing attitude was that women brought their low earnings on themselves (Kessler Harris
100).
This, of course, totally ignored the government statistics that pertained to immigrant families and
minorities, where family finances were the prime motivating factor towards women joining the work
force (Kessler Harris 123). Additionally, the census figures that showed immigrant wives as not
working failed to take into consideration that these women were usually employed as their husband s
assistants (Anonymous 25; Kessler Harris 124).
Those knowledgeable about working conditions within New York s factories found the facts to be
far different from this scenario. While some women lived at home, many did not. At a weekly
wage of eight to ten dollars per week, these women generally paid five to six of that for their rooms
(Barnum 7). Women who
Feminist Criticism In Mr. Tang Girls
Shirley Lim Geok Lin s Mr. Tang Girls is a short story that illustrates the life of the four Malaccan
girls in the second family of Mr. Tang or better known as Ah Kong in the story. This story, set off
back in the 20th century in Malacca, mainly revolves around how Ah Kong tried to control his
family especially the eldest girl, Kim Li and how she finally set herself free by killing him. The
theme victimization and resistance of women against the patriarchy of familyby using the feminist
literary tools of male domination, exploitation of women as well as resistance.

By the phrase of controlled socially, it means that the girls movement and circle of contact are
restricted and closely being watched by him. For example, the four girls and Mother are prohibited
from going out during the Saturdays in order to carry out the high tea with Ah Kong. There is a
line emphasizing of it that goes like, On Saturdays, the girls stayed home. No school activity, no
friends, no parties, no shopping trips. Nothing took them out of the house. The four girls will
stay home the whole day and have tea with Ah Kong in order to please him where he wanted them
to constituted his sense of home yet their voices were to be heard like cheerful music in the
background, but never loudly or intrusively which is the ideal way of spending Saturdays for him.
The dominance is shown as he set the rules and made it compulsory for the girls to follow his
ways by staying in as well as not talking to loudly to each other. There is also a line that goes like,
Saturday tea was when he considered himself a successful father .. where he is indicating that he
enjoys playing the master for the weekend role as it is also the time where he shows that he is a
dominant one in the family as the entire family listens to him and attend the tea
Historical Accuracy of the Film Good Night Good Luck Essay
The Movie good night good luck is incredibly historically accurate. The Movie uses authentic clips
that show McCarthy and many speeches Murrow used. World War ended in 1945 leaving a broken
Europe and a communist block behind. The United States quickly receded back to the red scare that
had existed before WWII. The United States quickly set an anti communist stance and prepared for
a war against the communists. While the war never came some enterprising individuals placed
themselves in powerful positions using the paranoia created. Among these individuals one came
