and Measuring Voltage transformers for LHB AC/Non AC coaches, LSRD Coaches, Power

Instances of smoke emission/heating from 100 VA feeder contactor control transformer have
been reported from different Railways. These transformers have been provided in switch Board
cabinet of HOG type LHB ACI Non Ac coaches, LSLRD coaches, Power Car and Pantry car to
provide 415VACSupply to HOG feeder contactors coil. Above issues has been examined by RDSO
Accordingly, RDSO have revised the rating of 750/415 100 VA control transformer to 200 VA for
LHB AC COaches and have also issued specification no RDSO/PE/SPECIAC/0203-2020(Rev-0) for
Control Transformers and Measuring Voltage transformers for LHB AC/Non AC coaches, LSRD
Coaches, Power car and Pantry car. (Copy enclosed).
With reference to the above, Railway Board vide their letter under ref(i) above, has issued
following instructions to All Zonal Railways
Availabilty and provision of proper make and rating of fuses is extremely essential to avoid
any untoward instances in case of failures of any electrical equipment.
Il. Al the new supply of the 750/415V transformers should be of 200 VA in place of 100 VA for
LHB AC Coaches and should meet the requirement to RDSO specification no.
RDSO/PE/SPEC/AC/0203-2020 (Rev-0). Such transformers to be supplied only after
prototype clearance given by RDSO,

&rating of HRC fuses in all the coaches, power cars and pantry cars.
