Analysis Of The Laughing Man
Behind the shroud
Children need role models. Think back to when you were once a young child for just a moment, do
you remember specific times in your early childhood where following the leader meant more then
just simply; walking behind someone ? I certainly trailed behind the footsteps of my own older
brother quite frequently. More so I was emotionally behind him one hundred percent in everything
we did and everywhere we went. In this short story, The Laughing Man you re taken on a similar
journey of follow the leader, with a few twists to keep you interested and hidden away from the
truth until the very end. Very much like an early Christmas morning knowing you have presents
waiting to be unwrapped, but not foreseeing what may lay underneath the shiny, tacky, and almost
perfectly wrapped goodness. If it wasn t for my own role model egging me on to peak under them I
would have never thought about breaking the golden rules of christmas. Role models tend to be the
elder of the group, with knowledge beyond what you re young brain can feasibly understand. When
that happens, that elder must find a way to get his/her point or instruction across in a way that you
can comprehend.
For just a short while, let me take you inside the inner workings of my brain, which prove to me
that The Laughing Man , is indeed more than just a story. Without a helping hand and a second
opinion as a child, you may second guess yourself and fail to continue on. Whereas if someone is
Negotiating a Divorce for the Kids
Running Head: I SAID, IT S FOR THE KIDS ! 1 Negotiating a Divorce for the Kids Keller
Graduate School Abstract Running Head: I SAID, IT S FOR THE KIDS ! 2 Conflicts are a part of
everyday life. These conflicts are solved through negotiation. The most important element of
effective negotiation, is preparation, preparation, preparation Divorce negotiations can be very
stressful and highly emotional especially when kids are involved. These negotiations can also be
complex because they mix both personal and business issues. Divorce negotiations, by definition,
means that you should not go in expecting to get everything you ask for. You and your spouse are
negotiating, which means there is a middle ground which the two of... Show more content on

They also disagree on how the assets should be divided. The parties to the negotiation include

S FOR THE KIDS ! 5 The Negotiation: Planning your strategy Before beginning the actual
negotiation process you and your spouse should decide when and where to negotiate. You should
also make a list of the issues to be negotiated and what information and documents you will both
need to bring to the negotiations. Meyer, (n.d) It is hard work negotiating a divorce settlement.
You must be willing to act like adults, which can be hard to do if there is animosity and hurt
feelings. For the negotiations to work you and your spouse must be able to talk without arguing,
be honest and open with each other and be willing to give as well as take. You must keep in mind
that negotiations are about the legal issues involved in ending your marriage. They have nothing to
do with the emotional issues. Leave your emotions at the door or your efforts at negotiating will be
fruitless. You must: be civil to each other. Leave the reasons for the divorce out of the negotiations.
Do not use negotiations as an excuse to rehash the problems in the marriage. Be willing to allow
your spouse to speak without
The Necessity At The Heart Of Every Command
The necessity to communicate is at the heart of every command. General Gordon Sullivan put this in
perspective best when he explained: Force XXI will leverage the capabilities of the latest
technologies to optimize the skill and courage of our soldiers. We will integrate information age
technology with our tactical units. We will redesign units, built around people and new technologies,
to enhance their agility, versatility and lethality. Combatant commanders who rely upon their
communication channels are not able to effectively move vital elements within a combat theatre
without the ability to move information. As the country continues to engage combatants in countries
such as Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria, the need to effectively communicate has become ever
increasing. Moreover, the requirement to share data within and amongst theaters is even more
imperative as we link actors to one another well beyond the borders in which we are currently
engaged. Program Manager WIN T (Warrior Information Network Tactical) provides commanders
with the ability to move data across the world and receive real time directions from commanders
located within the Continental United States through internet access. Soldiers, to include
commanders are now able to further untether themselves from their command post and communicate
both on the move or at the halt, further maximizing their time on the ground. However, progressing
to such a point has taken years to accomplish. The

The Blu Ray Disc
1 Introduction
An emergence roadmapping process is crucial to managers and policy makers taken decisions about
which technologies it should be or it should not be developed, despite the uncertain trends of the
market.
This report aims to address the emergence roadmapping of the Blu ray disc. It will be structured in
the three essential parts: the development of this technology, the environment involved and its initial
market and competitors. The first part describes the technological development and the advantages
that led to the implementation of this innovation, and it presents the challenges faced by it. In the
second part, an environment analysis will explain what helped to the success of the Blu ray disc. In
the last part, market ... Show more content on [Link] ...
The Blu ray, thereby, is the successor of the DVD format, as well as the High Definition/Density
Digital Versatile Disc (HD DVD). By 2007, these two serious competitors stood up over several
other companies attracting the largest consumer portion (Uijla Vriesa, 2013). Major changes that
occurred in the market by the end of 2008 have led the Blu ray to absolute dominance of the
market. In the section 4, a better explanation of the war raised between those two companies will be
presented.

3 Emergence Roadmapping Trends and Drivers
3.1 Technology Development and Challenges
The main purpose in a technological innovation is to integrate its benefits in an application and to
utilize properly its advantages to create a potential market that will generate revenue.
In 1998, The High Definition TV (HDTV) sets began to act in the United States and Japanese
consumer markets. The old formats of media, such as DVDs and CDs were not able to store the
amount of data necessary to record high definition content. At the same time, the video game market
was growing in a rapidly rate. The market demand generated after the success of DVDs pushed
several companies to invest in this type of technology. In this framework, the company that would
come up with an efficient innovation to provide higher data storage would have greater chance to
have a big market share.

Mass Murderer Research Paper
One of the first means of profiling a mass murderer is by their type. Mass murders can range
anywhere in the organized or unorganized type. Typically, an organized mass murderer carefully
plans out much of the crime he is about to commit. A disciple killer is an example of an organized
mass murderer. They are usually followers of a charismatic leader, who influences them into
killing any victim he directs them to. One disciple killer case would be that of Leslie Van Houton, a
16 year old girl who was persuaded by Charles Manson to murderfor him. Another type of organized
mass murderer would be known as the pseudo commando. This type of mass murderer stockpiles
exotic weapons in their home and often wears battle fatigues. Pseudo commandos
Ufo Research Paper
An unidentified flying object, also known as a UFO, have been around since the early records of
history. UFOs are typically associated with extraterrestrial life or in some circumstances there has
been some conspiracy theories that they are government related. UFOs have been used and
portrayed heavily in Hollywood films throughout the decades and in the media. Technically a
UFO could be categorized as an unknown plane or helicopter but when instead UFOs are brought
up people think of a saucer like object shown in the picture. Since the birth of the UFO the media
and Hollywood have in a way blown the thoughts of UFOs out of proportion. The large majority of
UFO sightings have been made from citizens and they can be easily dismissed. Also, many UFO
sighting cases go unseen due to the government and how... Show more content on [Link] ...
This case was different from others because in the past the claims that were made of UFO
sightings or landings came from uncredited people who were just civilians and had no credibility.
These sightings came from multiple people that hold a prestigious and well respected position.
Reports were made from on duty police officers that they spotted lights descending into the
forests. Astronomers have said that these lights were a piece of natural debris burning up as a
fireball. The men on duty first thought that it was a downed aircraft and naturally went out to go
check on it and see what was happening. As they entered the forest to investigate, they claimed to
have seen a glowing object, metallic in appearance with different colored lights. As the men went
closer to check it out, the object started to move through the trees, causing animals on nearby farms
to panic and freak out. A couple hours later, the local police were called out to the scene where the
UFO was reported, the only lights that were seen by them came from a local lighthouse a couple
miles on the coast.
The Influence Of Residential Schools For Aboriginal People...
Residential schools for Aboriginal people in Canada funded by the government were set up to
eliminate parental involvement in the intellectual, cultural, and spiritual development of Aboriginal
children. The continuing influence of residential schools has persisted and led to the continued
existence of social problems. There were many negative effects, they were robbed of their mother
tongue, the residential schools also prohibit the use of their traditions, teachings, and customs.
Children have not seen their families for months or even years.
There are countless abuses in schools, including physical abuse, neglect, abuse and sexual abuse.
Although abuse is targeted at specific individuals, they are part of a larger project aimed at
suppressing
Brutus Vs Mark Anthony Essay
William Shakespeare is a master at literature, drama, and even poetry. In his 1599 play Julius
Caesar, he shows his literary talents and they shine exceptionally well in Act 3, Scene 2 3 in
which he has both Brutus and Mark Anthony speak to the people of Rome about the murder of
Caesar. Brutus goes up first and sways the people into his favor by mentioning that he killed Caesar
for the safety of Rome but then Mark Anthony with great oratorical skills brings the people into his
side with appealing to certain feelings such as pity and other skills such as praeteritio and therefore
leads the people into riot and mutiny against Brutus. With this scene, Shakespeare shows many of his
intentions. First of all, he shows his mistrust of mobs and mob... Show more content on

The people are irrational and angry for they go rioting in the streets and want to hurt all the
conspirators. Once they are on the street and they find Cinna the Poet and ask him his name and
what he is doing. Once he answers truthfully the mob wants to kill him because he is named
Cinna to which he replies he is Cinna the poet but the people reply Tear him for his bad verses!
Tear him for his bad verses! (3,3,30 31). And this perfectly shows what Anthony has done to the
people, he has angered them to the point that they will kill anyone for simple reasons such as just
having the same name as a conspirator and this is extremely important because it shows that even
though Brutus and the conspirators killed Caesar to make Rome a better place, in the end they
made it so dangerous that even a poet is not safe anymore. And in this only the BBC version was
able to truly capture that
Gene s Time Period
This passage shows the time period that Gene s story begins, which is the summer of 1942
(Knowles 28), and when most of the prominent events in the story take place, therefore setting the
plot rolling for what happens in the following year. However, it is mentioned in the beginning of
the novel, by Gene, that [he] was a student there fifteen years before (Knowles 9), meaning that the
time period in which he is writing down, or looking back on, his story is roughly 1957; after the war
has ended and he has had time to reflect on and accept what happened during his years at Devon.
During the summer session in 1942, Gene is a boy who is known for his good grades and is
someone who follows the rules, while Finny is his athletic friend who decides... Show more content

Gene has attended this private school for a number of years and begins his story during the
summer session at Devon in 1942, which consists of a very calm, relaxing, and childish attitude.
During the summer, Gene experiences the better things that the school has to offer, like regular
outdoor activities and minimal supervision, along with Finny and his eccentric personality.
However, during the regular school year, the atmosphere at Devon quickly becomes more dark,
with the pressure to enlist in the war one of the top student concerns. Finny s broken leg also
causes problems with continuing the cheerful attitude from the summer because of the unresolved
tension between him and Gene, which impacts the overall atmosphere of Devon because Finny
used to be a strong and influencing character in the school. Devon is also where Brinker, one of
Gene s friends, holds a trial among their classmates to determine whether or not Gene is really
guilty of hurting Finny, which also ends in disaster when Finny falls down a flight of stairs and
breaks his leg again. The final, and most impacting, event that Devon holds for Gene is the end of a
friendship when Finny dies due to bone marrow reaching his heart, causing him to realize that the
true enemy is the one within himself, not the ones being attacked in the
