The cold war was named so because between the USA and Russia, there was hardly any direct
combat just a pile of tension, hostility, and potential violence. They were heading towards mutually
assured destruction; using weapons of mass destruction which were the nuclear bombs and assuring
inevitable destruction for both sides if there bombs were to go off and ultimate victory for none at
the end. Each set of alliances, the Warsaw Pact and NATO competently created nuclear weapons to
threaten the other one. Just in case either one of the countries decided to attack using their fatal
nuclear weapon, then the other one wouldn t just stand empty handed. Both USA and Russia found
it their first priority to keep themselves as secure as possible by... Show more content on

The health and environmental damage from nuclear weapons, including nuclear testing and fissile
material production and labor from people, aren t even included. Billions were spent on stockpile
maintenance, research and development for nuclear weapons that weren t even used and most likely
won t be in the near future. It has been estimated that the investment required to solve the major
human need and environmental problems facing humanity would be approximately have a total cost
that is less than half of what the US has spent on nuclear weapons. In December, 1994, President
Clinton announced cutbacks of $4.4 billion in the environmental management and cleanup program
over the next five years due to the tightness of the money from the spending years ago and the
constant need for replenishing the stockpile. This had proved to be a bad thing to do because the
nuclear arms race had a terrible effect on the environment as well as the economy.
The nuclear arms race had effected many things in the environment and all of the effects had been
negative adding on to the reasons why the nuclear arms race had not been good for the people
involved. The outcomes had even emphasized the severity of the situation and how dangerous the
bombs actually were if they were to be used. There were many different outcomes of the bombs,
some of which were immediate and occurred right away or up to 24 hours later and some of which
were delayed and occurred days
Explain What Level Of Proof Is Required In A Criminal Trial
1.What level of proof is required in a criminal trial? How does that differ in a civil trial?
a.The level of proof required in a criminal trial is: proof beyond a reasonable doubt (Fifth and
Fourteenth Amendments Due Process Clauses). (Garland 17) Meaning that if the judge has no
doubt on the defendant s guilt based on the evidence provided he will be sentenced as guilty. On
the other hand, in a civil trial, all that is needed is proof by a preponderance of the evidence, which
means that one side of the case has more proof than the other resulting in a small margin of
difference between the case verdict.
2.How many jurors must there be in a California criminal case? How many must agree to sustain a
conviction?

List six qualifications for a juror. (Garland 32)

i.Is a citizen of the United States; ii. Is a resident of the state; iii. Is at least 18 years of age; iv. Is of
sound mind;
v.Is in possession of the person s natural faculties; and vi. Is able to read or speak the English
language.

4.What is voir dire and jury nullification?

a.Voir dire A process in which jurors are questioned in order to select the members of the final panel.
Another definition given by Garland is roughly it means to speak the truth.
(Garland 32)

b.Jury Nullification Is when a jury reaches a verdict that is opposing to that of all the evidence
presented.
5.What is the difference between a jury trial and a bench trial? Who determines which it will be?
a.A bench trial takes place in front of a judge and there are no jurors (jury) present. On the other
hand, a jury trial is when members of the public act as jurors and provide their feedback to the
judge once they hear the evidence provided. The prosecuting attorney needs to agree to a trial
without jurors present. Once it is agreed the judge will commence the case without a jury present. A
defendant also has the right to waive a jury, however it is only allowed in some
The Television Show Duck Dynasty
We wanted to know how the television show Duck Dynasty became such a big part of popular
culture especially in the field of merchandising. We looked through web articles about how the
Robertson s family created an empire, what visual merchandising is and its effects on Duck
Dynasty merchandising, the politics they have encountered so far, and the stereotypes they have
revised and created. We found that visual merchandising is one of the reasons the Robertson is so
successful, and that politics don t faze them; for they follow the Lord in all things. We also found
that the stereotype of the country boy has turned to redneck and that beards is no longer just a
symbol of masculinity but one of success thanks to the Robertson family and ZZ Top. Based on the
findings we are able to say that none of these stereotypes are changing any time soon, or that the
Duck Dynasty television show and its merchandising are going to stop making huge profits for a
very long time in the future.

A Merchandising Empire: Duck Dynasty

In the last decade there has been a major change in popular culture concerning the south and the
subculture of rednecks. The cause of this change is none other than the reality television show Duck
Dynasty. This show has not only taken television by storm, but also merchandising industries. Why
and how Duck Dynasty has taken over popular culture? To answer both questions we are going to
look at four different areas; subcultures supported by the show, how the
Why Is Cursive Writing Important
The debate on cursive writing, how important is it?

Although cursive writing seems like a thing of the past, many people debate if it should stay there
or not. Writing by hand does have a lot of benifits, not many of therm do people associate writing
by hand with. Although it has been proven to be good for our minds, there is still a lot of
contreversy over the subject.

I agree with the article supporting cursive writing for the following reasons. Writing by hand,
especially in cursive, is very benificial to our memory. More people who write in cursive remember
ideas better as opposed to those who type. Hand writing verse typing allows people to process the
material given to them better. During a research study, students who took

With the age all of the numbers were very close together, so I think most just guessed. Which is
why the numbers are fairly consistent. With your father s occupation for me the pilot seemed
plausible. Maybe it wouldn t seem very likely if we lived anywhere else but with the wright
Patterson air force base so close by it was a strong possibility that he could have been a pilot. Not
just the Wright Patt, but with Ohio being one of the birth places of aviation, the possibility got
stronger. At least in my mind. This pretty good example of the availability heuristic, a tendency to
estimate the odds that an event will occur by how easily these instances come to mind. (Markus

at the age of our instructor. A little bit older, so for most it seemed like Jazz would be a good bet,
since it s seen as a more adult form of music.I think people have a tendency to view intelligent
people, like teachers having a more mature taste in music, regardless of age. I did not guess R B

The Music Of Elvis Presley
There were many types of bands and many diverse forms of music coming out and showing up in
the 1960 s. It was a time for a new form of music, a new sound, it was time for a revolution. There
were all types of music being played and new music being created. There were all sorts of bands
playing different kinds of music and playing with their own styles while taking over the airwaves.
Whether it be rock, soul, or any other type of music, it was a revolution. This also led to new bands
forming and breaking into the industry.
In the Sixties rock music came of age and dominated the popular music charts. Elvis Presley
continued to score hits in the early part of the decade, but the music continued to diversify with
music like the folk revival, the Brill Building sound, Phil Spector s wall of sound, girl groups and
surf music, all impacting the early part of the decade. The Motown, Stax and Atlantic labels brought
more African American artists to the forefront of the pop charts. By 1964 American artists were
sharing the top of the charts with U.K. bands led by great bands like the Beatles and The Rolling
Stones. In the U.S. garage bands emerge, inspired by the British Invasion sound.
(RockMusicTimeline, 2010 2015) There were many bands that were ruling the airwaves and even
just beginning and making their name in the music industry. From the Beatles to Led Zeppelin, all
the way to Black Sabbath in the category of Rock. Songs ranging from Hey Jude to Whole Lotta
Mission Command In Operation Anaconda
Principles of Mission Command in Operation Anaconda

Abstract
I will discuss my analytical view on the events that took place in 2002, titled Operation Anaconda .
Richard Kulger wrote the case study that gives in depth insight on these events. Several units
participated in this mission from Special Operations (SOF), 10th Mountain, U.S. Army Rangers, and
also units from Afghanistan Army. I will discuss the six principles to mission command (Build
cohesive teams through mutual trust, Create a shared understanding, Provide a clear commander s
intent, Exercise disciplined initiative, Use mission orders, and Accept prudent risk) to provide a
better understanding for mission planning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Crossover Utility Vehicle Or Suv Segment Is Booming
The subcompact crossover utility vehicle or SUV segment is booming, due to a slew of new
products introduced within months of each other this year. The segment is not new, but it does
demonstrate that consumers have an insatiable appetite for all things SUV. As a result,
manufacturers are looking for ways to gratify that demand.

We saw our first subcompact SUVs in the 1990s in both the first generation Kia Sportage and the
Chevrolet Tracker. Those vehicles either grew in proportions or were replaced by larger models to
reflect consumer interest in spacious SUVs.

Demand for compact models such as the Honda CR V, Ford Escape, Nissan Rogue, and the Toyota
RAV4 seemed to indicate that larger was better. But interest in vehicles such as the ... Show more

The Fiat 500X arrived on the market soon after the Chevrolet Trax made its debut and about the
same time as the Jeep Renegade and Honda CR X. The Mazda CX 3 will follow and along with the
Juke, Soul and a handful of other multi purpose vehicles, affordable utility vehicles are gaining in
numbers.

The 2016 Fiat 500X is sold in Pop ($20,000), Easy ($22,300), Trekking ($23,100), Lounge ($24,850)
and Trekking Plus ($27,100) editions. Except for the Pop, all wheel drive can be had across the
model line, adding $1,900 to the corresponding model line.

The base Pop gives shoppers a choice of a normally aspirated 2.4 liter four cylinder engine (180
horsepower and 175 foot pounds of torque) paired with a nine speed automatic transmission or a
turbocharged 1.4 liter four cylinder engine (160 horsepower and 184 foot pounds of torque) paired
with a six speed manual transmission.

My test model came with the larger engine and the automatic transmission. It was my third go round
with the nine gear slush box, with Chrysler 200S and Jeep Cherokee models similarly outfitted.

So before I go cover all the nuances of the new SUV, allow me to give you the skinny on the driving
aspect.

The larger four is suitable for the 500X. The transmission takes some getting used to and even then
there were times I could feel it hunting for a gear. This model also offers three driving modes:
normal, sport and weather. When operated in sport mode, the
The American Revolution And American History Essay
The American Revolution was an important moment in American history. The revolution shed new
light on how people could live and how a nation could be governed. Looking back, one might think
that the British saw the American colonists as a group of people easy to conquer. In the time period
of the American Revolution, women were seen more as property rather than active participants in
war, but women played a large part in the war. In the end, the American Revolutiontransformed the
United Statesfrom a collection of agrarian colonies into a self sustaining country. The American
Revolution was the war that decided the United States independence. The war between the United
Stated and Britain lasted 8 years, 1775 1783, but the tension between these two formed long before
the war began. The tension between the two countries escalated when King George III began to tax
the American colonies. The Stamp Act, The Townshend Tariffs, and the Tea Act, all increased the
tension between Great Britain and the United States. Violence between the two sides escalated
quickly when British soldiers fired upon a mob in Boston. This slaughter later became known as the
Boston Massacre. Later, in 1773, British Parliament became even more outraged with the colonials
after the event known as the Boston Tea Partyand created the Coercive Acts, making clear that the
British were the authority. In 1775 the Continental Congress met in Philadelphia and declared
independence from Great Britain thereby
