Yamaha MT-15 Basic Home Servicing Guide

1. Engine Oil Change (Every 3,000-4,000 km)

- Warm engine slightly


- Unscrew drain bolt and let oil drain
- Replace oil filter
- Refill with ~1L 10W-40 engine oil
- Use Yamalube or recommended grade

2. Air Filter Cleaning/Replacement (Every 5,000 km)

- Remove side panels and tank cover


- Take out air filter
- Clean with compressed air (if reusable) or replace

3. Chain Cleaning & Lubrication (Every 500-800 km)

- Use chain cleaner/diesel and brush


- Clean and dry chain
- Apply chain lubricant evenly

4. Brake Check

- Inspect brake pads for wear


- Check brake fluid level (use DOT 3/4)
- Clean calipers if dusty

5. Coolant Check/Top-up

- Locate coolant tank and top up if low


- Use Yamaha-recommended coolant
- Never open radiator cap when hot

6. Tyre Pressure Check (Weekly)

- Front: 28-30 PSI | Rear: 32-36 PSI


- Check for wear or punctures

7. Battery Check

- Ensure terminals are clean and tight


- Check voltage (~12.6V+)
- Clean corrosion with baking soda solution
8. Lights, Indicators, Horn

- Check all lights and horn working


- Replace faulty bulbs or fuses

9. Cleaning and Polishing

- Wash with bike shampoo


- Dry using microfiber cloth
- Use polish/wax for shine and protection

Tools to Keep at Home

- Wrenches & screwdrivers


- Chain brush, lube & cleaner
- Oil & oil filter
- Tyre pressure gauge
- Microfiber cloth
- Battery tester (optional)

Visit Service Center If:

- Engine overheating/noise
- Electrical faults
- ECU/sensor issues
- Suspension or injector work
