Teen Violence Research Paper
Recently Video games have been to blame for many of the incidents among teen violence. Anti
game activists are quick to blame video games for teen violence. If video games are the reason for
violence then why it is that video game sales have quadrupled while violent juvenile crime in the
United States has declined by over 71.8%. I am of the opinion that video games are not to blame for
teen violence, but that it has been made a common excuse over the years. In reality people, more so
parents are just trying to find something to blame for kid s actions instead of taking personal
inventory of themselves, and the way they are raising their children.
According to the article, Do violent video games contribute to youth violence? In 2005 a law was
passed making violent video game sales to have a mandatory 18 label and the sale of these video
games to minors wad also criminalized. Therefore society has been doing its part to reduce the
amount of violence exposed to children. From there it is the parent s responsibility to keep these
games out of reach from kids. Not to say, kids are smart. They know how to steal, and get ahold of
things they are not supposed to have, but does that mean just because they are accessible to it they
are going to play a video game they are going to contribute to a school shooting? Or ... Show more

They start to pick up on these things and translate into real world performance. This teaches kids
that when they feel angry it is okay to do violent things because in video games this behavior is
rewarded. This is where mental illness comes into place. When children have the inability to
decipher reality from fantasy they begin to act on things that a functioning brain wouldn t. These
things are all valid points in terms of teenagers contributing to teen

knows that she will never come back because she will never get strong enough to work in the

the others. (113) Lyddie decides that when she s ready to leave the factory herself she could sign
the petition.Rachel,Lyddie s little sister, has gotten a job at the factory in Lowell. During the
night,Lyddie notices that Rachel has the same cough the sent Betsy home. She began to lie
awake listening for the awful sound, until finally, she decided to send the child away anywhere,
just so she was not breathing this poison air. (139)Since Lyddie is going to be sending Rachel
away, Lyddie could go with her and sign the petition. The Concord corporation is speeding up the
looms and other girls are exhausted. Lyddie overheard the overseer talking to one of the girls
saying that if she can t do the work, there are many girls can. If you can t do the work, Lyddie
heard Mr.Marsden say to a girl at breakfast break, there s many a girl who can and will .(100)
Lyddie hears that Mr.Marsden will fire a girl just because she can t keep up with the machines pace.
For this reason Lyddie should sign the petition. These Pieces of evidence help prove that Lyddie
should sign the petition because these are others
Candle Experiment Lab Report
Does the thickness of a candle influence how quickly it burns?

Figure 1: The wide candle burning during the experiment
Introduction: This experiment aims to discuss whether the thickness of a candle influences the time
of burning. A candle burns by melting the wax near the wick. This liquid wax is then drawn up the
wick by capillary action. The heat of the flame then vaporises the wax. Previous results showed that
wider candles burnt slower than thinner candles.
Aim: The aim of this experiment was to find out whether the thickness of a candle has an effect on
the time taken for it to burn down.

This was because the flame would have to burn through less wax to be able to move down.

Effects Of Carpentry
Carpentry and the effects on the Environment The carpentry business presents a very harmful affect
to our environment and the people that work in the wood industry. The killing of trees is damaging
the oxygen our earth needs and also limits resources that can be acquired by people. The earth is
already in an inadequate state with pollution and not taking proper care of our surroundings. Also,
the woodindustry is very harmful to the people that work and inhale the wood particles and dust
which can have very fatal effects to the lung and air cage in their daily lives. These factors can be
limited if tree cutting were reduced and carpentry workers used less wood, it could also be reduced
if trees that were disturbed were trees that were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also kills pests and species to clear land. Wood and trees builds our beds and houses, and makes
other important things we use in our daily lives. The effects of tree cutting cause no harm to the
environment and in some ways are beneficial. Wood, hard, tough substance that forms the trunks
of trees, and that has been used for thousands of years as a fuel and as a material of construction (
Wood ) is a big part of the world as it is used universally for a lot of activities. For example to build
a house you have to use wood, to build a bed you most likely have to use wood, to build your own
chair you most likely have to use wood, and etc. The way people use wood is starting to place
limitations on the environment and the availability of carbon and other resources important to
restore our oxygen. The overall consensus of carpentry and woodworking is what is leading to the
deterioration of the amount of trees that are available on the planet whether it s for construction or
personal projects. The world needs to limit the amount of trees being slain and take precaution to
save the environment. The more trees being the cut the less resources and available oxygen and
CO2 we have, and the risks of workers of wood is a serious issue. Many of woodworkers put
themselves in

Synoptic Gospels Purpose
The purpose of this gospel, as stated by John himself, is to show that Jesus of Nazareth was Christ,
the Son of God, and that believers in him might have eternal life. This purpose was one that John had
in common with the men who wrote the Synoptic Gospels, but his method for achieving it
distinguishes his gospelfrom the earlier ones. The central theme in the Synoptic Gospels is the
coming of the kingdom of God, and it was in relation to this event that the accounts were given of
the life and teachings of Jesus. The messianic character of Jesus mission was described in terms of
the miracles that he performed, his kindly attitude toward the poor and the oppressed, his power to
cast out demons and to heal the sick, and his instructions concerning... Show more content on

Lazarus was dead for four days, and at the call of Jesus he came back to life. For John, an event of
this kind is a most appropriate symbol of what happens to spiritually dead people when they are
receptive to the power of God made manifest in the person of Jesus. That this story is found only
in the Gospel of John raises some questions concerning the historicity of the event, for it does not
seem at all probable that the authors of the Synoptic Gospels would have failed to relate an event
as important as this one if they had known about it. Whether John was recording a popular
tradition or writing a sequel to the story of the rich man and Lazarus, recorded in the Gospel of
Luke, we do not know. At any rate, the story in Luke closes with the statement that those who do
not believe Moses and the prophets will not be convinced, even if a person raised from the dead
should speak to them. In John s story, someone does come from the dead, and even then the Jews
are not persuaded by what he says and does. As John interprets the story, its deeper meaning is
disclosed in a statement that Jesus makes: I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in
me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Lazarus is
typical of all human beings. Without the indwelling presence of the Spirit of God, all human life is
meaningless. When the Spirit of God enters into our lives, we are no longer dead in a spiritual
sense but are partakers of the life that is
