Impact Of Agriculture On Clayton And Fayette County
Impact of Agriculture on Clayton and Fayette County
North Fayette Valley Middle School
Mariya Yasinovska, McKenna Kemp, Cody Smith, Andrew Schmitt

Agriculture impacts all of our lives in many different ways. There is the economic impact of
agriculture and the physical impact.
Agriculture is one of the main industries in Clayton and Fayette counties. These counties export a
lot of agriculture products to the rest of the U.S.A lot of people s careers are in the agriculture
industry, and it helps them get food on the table. A lot of people get their food from agriculture.

Norby s in West Union and other hardware stores provide seeds and plants for vegetables. Some
of the foods the cows and farms produce are corn, milk, eggs, beef, pork, beans, alfalfa, and hay.
The alfalfa and hay is for the cows in the winter to stay fat for butchering. The eggs come from the
chickens that also eat alfalfa to stay alive.
Metal recycling is another important part of agriculture. Clayton County Recycling is located in
Monona, IA. The business is open six out of seven days. People who are in the agriculture
business work varied hours so this is convenient. When a farmer puts up a new fence he has to get
rid of the old fencing. Some load it on a wagon and take the metal to the recycling center when its
full. They get paid for the scrap metal by how much it weights. They are helping the environment so
there is less trash.
Pro Earth Environmental Services in West Union is another important business for ag. The wood is
made into mulch which is used for animal bedding, landscaping, and compost piles.
Relationship Between Haitian And Dominican Relations
The Haitian and Dominican Relations The Dominican Republic and Haiti have had a resentment of
one another for centuries. It s an uneasy coexistence for countries whose intertwined histories of
colonization, conquest and racism over the centuries have left deep wounds (Castillo). The Haitian
and Dominican relations have been disrupted and shattered since the 1400s, which has continued till
today s day in age due to the harsh treatment of Haitians, and the grudges each country has held over
the centuries. This all began with the fight over the land of Hispaniolaand the colonization between
the Spanish and French. This has led to constant battles today between the two governments. The
division of Hispaniola began through the conflict of the French and Spanish trying to control the
New World in the 17th century. The split in 1697 resolved the dispute making them two different
countries. The Dominican Republicwas still a part of Spain along with Haitia part of France until the
1800s when they became independent (Lancer). The Dominicans then began to take advantage of
the Haitians and use them as slaves. So in 1805 Jean Jacques Dessalines, the ruler of Haiti,
invaded the eastern part of the island of Hispaniola because of the slave raiding going on in the
Dominican Republic. This wasn t entirely successful, so in 1821 Santiago was finally overthrown
by José Núñez de Cáceres. He was part of a group trying to break away from Spain and become
independent. The Dominican
Juvenile Detention Center Speeches
I would like to inform you that today there was a fight at our juvenile detention center. The
children that were involved was a boy named Stanley Yelnats, Hector Zeroni, and the main
participant was named Rick. The incident took place around 12:00 p.m. and in the middle of the
field where all of the boys dig their holes during the day. I pulled up in the water truck with all of
the boys lunches and water to fill their canteens. Just like any other day hey all lined up and the
only thing that seemed different was that Stanley was near the front of the line and not at the back
where he usually is. I didn t really suspect anything that was going to happen. The boys were
having their regular chit chat as I handed them their lunches and filled their canteens with some
fresh water and then went to the back of the truck to go get some ore lunches for the rest of the
boys. While I was in the back of the truck I heard something about someone wanting someone else to
take their cookie, the only thing I thought was that they wanted to be nice to each other for a change.
I continued to take the lunches back and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was paralyzed with shock and I had no idea what to do next. The other boy next to Rick had a
scared look on his face. I stood there for a split second then decided to do something about this.
Everyone was standing around the boys wondering what would happen next. I quickly ran to the
water truck to grab my pistol trying to make sure that no one would see me so I could get there
faster. I then sprinted across to where all of the other boys were huddled up and put my pistol in
the air and shot it into the purple and drowsy looking sky. Hector jumped off Rick and ran away to
the middle of nowhere, and no one tried to stop him. That was the reason that I am writing you this
letter today about this tragic incident. Have a pleasurable rest of your day,
Rennaissance and Mannerist Essay
The art work from the 1400 s to the 1600 s showed a drastic change after 1520 when Mannerism
was brought about. After a while the Mannerist style was known to not be such a good thing.
People saw the paintings as not classical and distorted or out of proportion. Mannerism seemed to
coincide with a period of political and religious unrest which lead to and age of anxiety and crisis
where the clarity and confidence of the High Renaissancewas lost (Benton and DiYanni 37 38).
Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Parmigianino show some differences in Renaissance and
Mannerism with their works of art of the Madonna.
Leonardo da Vinci s Madonna of the Rocks was painted in 1483 at the time of the High Renaissance.

The column in the background on the right symbolizes the torture of Jesus, because he was bound to
a column (Benton and DiYanni 38). The small prophet in the bottom right hand corner just seems to
take up room where there was not much detail with out him.
After discussing both Renaissance paintings and Mannerist paintings it goes to show that during the
Renaissance times the artist cared more about the realistic details that were put into the art. Unlike
in Parmigianino s painting of the Madonna she gives her an unrealistically long neck and fingers.
During the Renaissance it was all about the Church and representing it, once the sack of Rome
happened in 1527 that is when everything went down hill and people began to paint in the distorted,
uneven manner of Mannerism. In both the Madonna of the Rocks and the Madonna of the
Meadows there is a sense of peace for them both being out in nature where everything is pure. Also
they both seem happier; the expressions on the faces seem less concerned as in Parmigianino s.

Miracle Movie Analysis
Teamwork is an extraordinary characteristic for any organizations or groups to strive to its fullest
potential. According to the Greenberg text An organization is a structured social system consisting
of groups and individuals working together to meet upon some agreed upon objectives. In the movie
Miracle, the theme of teamwork is portrayed through the Men s HockeyTeam s head coach Herb
Brooksleadership in training recent college graduates to play hockey in one of the most challenging
competition in the world, which were the 1980s Olympics.
The theme of teamwork plays a vital role in this movie because coach Brooks did not want all
star players during the tryout sessions. He wanted to build a team based on individuals who were
hardworking and loyal to their own team. Even though Brooks faced criticisms from the advisory
hockey board but at the end he succeeded to lead the team by his own means and was given
permission to take the team to the Olympics and towards the dream of getting a gold medal. In the
movie Miracle, there was a splendid portrayal of the team s journey of formation to performance for
the gold medal. According to the Greenberg text, there is a five stage model of group formation,
which includes: forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning. In the movie the ice
hockey team goes through the five stage of group formation within six months. The forming stage
was basically when the team members were selected and we able to meet each other and at
Polar Bear Endangerment
Endangered species can change a habitat due to their role in the environment. The EPA helps
protect these endangered species with the help of National and State Parks in the United States.
Each endangered species has different factors of why it is becoming endangered. Endangered
species are sometimes caused by their loss of habitat. Reasons for the endangerment of a species can
vary greatly from their loss of habitat to high genetic vulnerability to invasive species. Rapid climate
change contributes to the endangerment of many arctic wildlife. The Endangered SpeciesAct and the
Endangered Protection Agency protects endangered and threatened species.
Polar Bears(Ursus maritimus) are going extinct due to loss of their habitat. Polar Bears live on
sea ice in the Atlantic Ocean. Due to warmer climates, the ice is becoming harder to find for these
Polar Bears. Polar Bears were listed as an endangered species in 2008 by the Endangered Species
Act (7). Global warming is the cause of Polar Bear endangerment, and their genetic code is not able
to evolve fast enough to cope with the changing environment. If fossil fuels were not being burned,
then the Earth would be cooler (7). Many arctic wildlife is affected by the climate change such as
the tiger (Panthera tigris), the Polar Bear (Ursus maritimus), and the Pacific Walrus (Odbenus
rosmarus divergens).
Forty two percent of endangered species are caused by an invasive species (3). Endangered species

The Texas Family Code s Treatment Of Grandparents Essay
Interim Charge 6 Examine the Texas Family Code s treatment of grandparents in the parent child
relationship, including Chapters 32, 34, 153, 161 and 162. The Honorable Denisse Garcia,
Judge, 303rd Family District Court, Dallas 12 years as a judge. Maria, is her daughter and she is
grateful for the grandparents she has because they take care of. Grandparents are stepping in as
parents. The State is not ready to adequately take care of kids. It is easier for grandparents to get
full custody by suing the parents instead of getting them for a few hours (visitation hours). Any
person at any time can sue for visitation under the Washington Statute. Grandparents would be of
the best interest unless mother can prove that the children are better without the grandparents.
Rep. Hughes ask question regarding other states statutes Judge Garcia Does not know she

There has been several changes to the law, not all good. Pictures, videos, memories, etc. that is
more valuable for a child when a grandparent is in a child s life. Elimination of expert opinion will
cut litigation costs. The process needs to be easier for judges to make a decision of where they
should place the child. Most states do not apply to the harm analysis like in Texas. Complying a list

The Sentencing Of Domestic And Non Domestic Violence Cases
The article of, Similar Punishment, Comparing Sentencing Outcomes in Domestic and Non
Domestic Violence Cases (hereby referred to as article 1 ) written by Christine E. W .Bond and
Samantha Jefferies used NSW administrative court data from January 2009 and June 2012 to report
multivariate analyses of the sentencing of domestic and non domestic violenceoffences. The research
conducted consisted of independent variables, offender social characteristics, legal and case
characteristics and dependent variables, to highlight the difference in sentencing. The study used
case level data for a population of cases to assess the apparent sentencing differentially. (Bond
Jefferies 2014, p )
Article 1 focused on two key questions; does the decision to imprison differ between domestic and
non domestic violence cases when perpetrators are sentenced under similar circumstances and
whether domestic violence perpetrators receive prison terms similar to non domestic violence
offenders (Bond Jefferies 2014, p856). The research relied on adult lower court data. The results
from a sample of 64,238 cases found that domestic violence cases differ significantly from non
domestic violence cases, on most characteristics. Offenders in domestic violence cases are on
average older, more likely to be indigenous and less likely to be female. Judicial use of incarceration
is slightly (but statistically significant) higher in domestic violence cases compared with non
domestic violence cases, of
Essay On Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows showcased an interesting twist to the fictional tale. The
adaptations of the original story created a newfound love for the character of Sherlock Holmes.
Both pre existing and newer fans come together and embrace the new sides of the detective. One of
the new sides experienced in relation to Sherlock Holmesis found in Guy Ritchie s two adaptations;
Sherlock Holmesfrom 2009 and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows from 2011. In the
adaptations by Ritchie, Holmes turns into an action hero who is not afraid of going into combat. At
the same time, the character of Holmes is interpreted as charming, bohemian, scruffy, and unhygienic
in the Robert Downey Jr. s representation. The two films are both set in Victorian... Show more

Holmes stalking is seen as him seeking an outlet for his outrage caused by the childhood trauma.
We can go further and diagnose Holmes in two ways. First, the young Holmes thought about
killing Moriarty when the latter broke the news to him because, as a boy, he might think that the
whole tragedy would not have taken place had Moriarty kept his mouth shut. The young Holmes
repressed his wish to kill Moriarty. Now, Holmes stalking, as a neurotic symptom, has a sense in
carrying out that wish only under a defence mechanism called projection: I don t want to kill
Moriarty. It is he who wants to kill me. Second, the root of Holmes neurosis could be his unresolved
Oedipus complex. The love for his mother and the hate toward his father were intensified when the
young Holmes learned about the murder. Since he could not kill his father, he transferred his hatred
to the tutor, Moriarty, another father figure, who, in Holmes unconscious, was deeply involved in
the murder and mixed up with his father. Holmes stalking, therefore, has a sense in avenging his
mother by killing his father, all through torturing

Epistemology
My Own Epistemology: In the Making

Am I living in an illusion? What will happen to me after I die? Is there really such thing as a God? I
have struggled with these three questions throughout my entire life, and I was very intrigued to
discover that all of these questions were addressed throughout the many different readings in Libs
201: Exploring the Unknown. Author Chris Frith dissects the idea that the mental world is an
illusion created by the brain in his book Making Up The Mind. Antony Flew, a former atheist, argues
that there is such thing as a God or an agent and backs up his theory using science. Emile Durkheim

Whether it is Emile Durkheim discussing the foundation of religious thought in primitive people
thousands of years ago, or Michael Shermer writing about how the human brain constructs beliefs
and reinforces them as truths, I am constantly absorbing brilliant new ideas and perspectives
regarding the foundation of philosophical and religious thought in humans. I have come to the
conclusion that my epistemology is still in the making, and my sponge of a brain has not yet
absorbed enough experience and knowledge for me to feel confident in my own thoughts and
beliefs at this point in my life. I believe that with every new book or article that I read, I feel my
mind expanding more and more, and maybe one day I will finally be able to say There really is a
God out there, and I know this because... . There is also a chance that I ll discover that I am more
like Shermer and I will come to the conclusion that our brain simply creates the idea of a God due
to the process of patternicity, the tendency to find meaningful patterns in both meaningful and
meaningless data. For now, all I can do is retain as many different concepts and philosophies as I can
in order to bring me one step closer to discovering my own
Soccer Player Vs. Tennis Player
What makes soccer players so great? What about tennis players? These two sports are both
compelling in different ways and are complete opposites in more ways than one. When trying to
choose between the two, there are some major differences to take into consideration. Both exercise
the body and can be a great way to have fun, although it might depend on what they players
preferences are when it comes to deciding between the two. The differences between soccer and
tennisare striking and they merit examination by those who wish to choose between the two.
Soccer practices are cutthroat while tennis practices are more relaxed and fun, no doubt because of
the amount of physicality involved with each sport. In soccer, players can shove, trip, slide ... Show

Restriction Enzyme mapping of a plasmid
Aim
To isolate cloned recombinant plasmid pAB2 from a bacterium culture known as E. coli, the
plasmid contained a virus called baculovirus and an enzyme called restriction endonuclease was used
to cut the circular plasmid DNA. The enzyme was used to determine which fragment was cloned
from the baculovirus. The aim is to remove the plasmid pAB2 from E. coli and correlate the enzyme
restriction endonuclease for cutting of the circular plasmid DNA, therefore this gives the ability to
determine which fragment has been cloned.
Introduction:
Recombinant plasmid pAB2 was isolated from a culture of E. coli, this contained an insert of
baculovirus. The restriction enzyme called restriction endonuclease was used to cut the circular
plasmid DNA, allowing us to identify which fragment has successfully been cloned from the insert
of baculovirus. The agarose gel electrophoresis was performed using Gelled in order to utilize the
DNA in gel, this binds to the DNA and fluoresces under UV light.
The restriction enzymes are known to belong to a wide class of enzymes which are classified as
nucleases. There are exonnucleases and endonucleases, the endonucleases are also known as
restriction enzymes which cut the DNA molecules at a certain point by recognition of 6 base pair
sequence. DNA cloning depends on the restriction enzyme digest to allow the DNA to
