Positive Reinforcement Analysis
In this example you can clearly see the positive reinforcement. By my father giving me a gift as a
reward for doing good it was be a positive reinforcement, If I know that me getting good grades it
results in my getting money or gifts it s going to make me keep striving to do good. In this
example it would be negative reinforcement because I am looking for an escape from the traffic.
Since leaving early helps escape the traffic them then I m going to leave early to help avoid it.
This example would fall under negative reinforcement because since he had a bad experience
while camping he s not going to want to camp again. He doesn t want to risk getting bullied again
or having water thrown on him. He going to do what he thinks is best to avoid
Tim O Brien Stockings Ending Analysis
The ending of the story Stockings matches with my expectations for the conclusion. In the first
portion of the story, the author Tim O Brien wrote, Dobbins was invulnerable. Never wounded,
never a scratch . Therefore, Henry Dobbins invincible leads me to think about that whatever happens
to Dobbins, he will not give up the stockings, and he will tie them in his neck as a lucky charm. In
the ending, as what I thought, Dobbins put the stockings in the back of his neck even though his
girlfriend broke up with him. I believe that his real loveis not his girlfriend, instead, it is the
stockings. My initial response towards the ending is nothing unexpected has been happening. I
thought narrator will describe about how the stockings lose their... Show more content on

In addition, the narrator said, It turned us into a platoon of believers. You don t dispute facts.
Hence, they are all superstitious about the magic power of stockings. In the beginning of the
story, the narrator described Dobbins thoughts. Narrator wrote, he believed firmly and absolutely
in the protective power of the stockings. They were like body armor, he thought. However, the
tone has significantly changed after the narrator and other soldiers realized the mysterious power
of stocking. The tone became more inclusive to all the soldiers. The narrator no longer describes
Robbins thoughts, especially after Robbin s girlfriend broke up with him, there is no internal
thinking described. Overall, the tone changed from personal to general. The final line of the
story is It was a relief for all of us . Soldiers believe that the stockings have the magic power to
protect Dobbins and other soldiers. The tone and attitude do not match with that in the rest of the
story. By using the expression all of us , instead of Dobbins, the main characters have changed
from Dobbins to all the soldiers. Everyone included the narrator wanted to be protected by the
magic power. Then they heard Dobbins ties the stockings back, soldiers know they will be survived

Categorical Vs. Categorical Imperative
An imperative can be described as either a requirement or an order such as an assistant manager
being told to take inventory or being told by a personal trainer to do fifty squats. All imperatives,
no matter what it is, can either be hypothetical or categorical. A hypothetical imperative would be
defining an action to be good if there is a means to do something else . (Landau Kant 93) An
example of a hypothetical imperativewould be to do an action in order to achieve a specific result.
On the other hand, if an action itself is considered good and has no reason towards it, then it would
be a categorical imperative. A categorical imperative would be doing a specific action because one
is told to do so without any desire or happiness as a result. (Landau Kant 93) In addition, both
hypothetical and categorical imperatives are a part of what is known as maxims. In order for an
action to be considered a hypothetical or categorical imperative, the action would be based on
reason rather than out of desire. This is known as maxims. In this essay, Kant s Categorical
Imperative will be described in Kant s point of view along with an objection and defense towards
Kant s categorical imperative theory. In The Ethical Life by Russ Shafer Landau, Kant states that a
categorical imperative, or also known as the imperative of morality, has to do not with the matter of
the action and what is to result from it, but with the form and the principle from which the action
itself

Final Persuasive Speech Outline

General Purpose: to persuade

Specific purpose: To stop breed discrimination against the APBT

I. INTRODUCTION

A. Attention Getter: Dr. Martin Luther King once said, I look to a day when people will not be
judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character (King, 1963). As members
of the millennial generation, we are taught that it is unacceptable to judge people by the way one
looks, dresses, or talks. So why is it excusable for you to judge my four legged companion based on
the way she looks, the way she is built, or the way her bark sounds? B. Credibility As an owner of

B. It was in the 1980s when the perception of the pit bull was smeared. 1. Regardless of being
illegal in all fifty states, dog fighting made a comeback and the pit bull was the dog of choice. 2.
They were also the preferred guard dog for big time drug dealers and gangs. C. But why does this
irresponsibility fall on the breed? Humans have bestowed this demeanor upon them, yet the dogs
are the ones receiving the repercussions. 1. The pit bull is well known for its loyalty and desire to
please. They continually strive to exceed expectations that are set for them, which is one of the
biggest reasons they are preferred as a fighting dog; they will not give up. They will fight for the
attention and praise of their owner. 2. Pit bulls are loving, tender, faithful, and they are protective
over the families they belong to. We, as owners and pet lovers, need to take the steps to ensure the
image of this breed is restored; We need to speak up for the underdog.

Transition: Contrary to popular belief, the pit bull is not born with the mentality that fighting is the
spice of life.

MAIN IDEA #2: One of the biggest preconceived notions about the pit bull is that they are the
most dangerous dogs in the world that run around wild eyed and blood thirsty. They have been
improperly labeled as vicious creatures that are incapable of love and
What Is Thomas Aquinas Essay
Thomas Aquinas (1224 1274) is one of the towering figures in Western philosophy and theology, so
great that he is even called the angelic Doctor by the Roman Catholic Church. Within a twenty year
span he wrote over forty books, including his masterpiece The Summa Theologica, in which he
constructs a vast system integrating Greek philosophy with the Christian faith. (http://www.pursuit

and end goal every person wants, it also comes from the wisdom of how to use things, and happiness
must be understood to be truthfully happy. What is happiness? Happiness is something that

Violence is disgusting, and should only be used as a last resort to fight evil, and must be limited
to what is necessary. After all, violence is against the nature of nature, rarely with the will of
nature. For that reason, in the face of violence, people tend to compromise and relax. However, one
needs to be aware of the dangers and, when necessary, enter the fight against evil. So where do we
have happiness? If not in our own soul, then where? Thomas does not think so, though, because the
soul is made for other things. We attain happiness through our souls, but not because of them
(otherwise simply being a human would be perfect happiness, as being human requires having a
soul). Thus Thomas concludes that, happiness is something belonging to the soul; but that which
constitutes happiness is something outside the soul. This life often does not make sense to us. It
can seem like a wildly fun ride one moment, and a terrifying roller coaster the next. Undeserving
people often seem to have it easy, while the really good ones can get thrown to the ground over and
over again.
