Influence of the Superpowers in the Middle East Conflict...
To what extent was the Middle East conflict between 1948 and 1978 fuelled by the interests and
concerns of the superpowers in the region?
During 1948 and 1978 there was massive conflict in the Middle East between Arab Muslim
countries and Jewish Israel. The conflict itself was fuelled by nationalism and religious differences
and other disputes such as the Palestinians refugee problem. During this time the superpowers got
involved in the Middle East because of the cold war. However, the superpowers involvement was
noticeable by their attempts to implement their respected influences in the Middle East to gain
power with respect to their political and economical policies of the world and become the ultimate
superpower . Thus the superpowers were involved and contributed to the conflict but in a very small
way compared to nationalism and religious differences in the Middle East.
During 1948 and 1978 there was massive conflict in the Middle East between Arab Muslim countries
and Jewish Israel. This conflict was caused by nationalism and religious differences. Israel was
declared a state on the 14 May 1948 this led to the Arab states attacking Israel in attempt to
destroy Israel completely so that it would seize to exist as a state. The attack of the Arab states on
Israel led to the war of 1948, which ended in 1949 with Israel being victorious. This war added even
more fuel to the Middle East conflict as over a million Palestinians became refugees and were
scattered over the
Relationship Between Financial Development And Economic...
This thesis explores the long run relationship between financial development and economic growth
using time series modeling. For each of the four case countries three types of Vector
Autoregression (VAR) models will be developed except for the case of Serbia where only VAR
related to credit institutions development will be developed since data related to stock market
development indicators were unavailable to author. For the case of Croatia, Slovenia and China three
separate VAR models will be applied. First, bivariate VAR model to explore the connection between
credit institutions development and economic growth. Second, bivariate VAR model to explore the
connection between stock markets development and economic growth. Third,... Show more content

3.2.INDEPENDENT VARIABLES
Credit institutions development variables
A wide range of theoretical literature explores the relationships between banks and economic
growth. In an ideal world researchers would construct cross country variables that would describe
banks profitability, corporate governance in place, resource mobilization and allocation and risk
management. Unfortunately until now no standardized measures for a broad spectrum of
countries have been developed. That is the main reason why most of the researchers today uses
variables that describe the over all size of the banking sector by which they proxy for the
„financial depth (Goldsmith, 1969; Mckinnon 1973). M2 (m2) or also known as the broad money
is one of the common variables used in exploring the finance growth nexus. As defined by
investopedia , M2 is the measure of money supply that includes cash and checking deposits, money

Gender Segregation And The Glass Ceiling
The terminology of the glass ceiling defines a variety of barriers that prevent qualified individuals
from advancing higher in their organization and the phrase glass ceiling is used most often in
regards to women in the workforce (Adair, 2009). In addition, the glass ceiling was a term coined
by an American newspaper, the Wall Street Journal, a couple of decades ago to describe the
barriers that prevent women from reaching the top ladder in both economic and political fields
(Williams, 2006). Although it is true that many women have finally become managers after fifty
years in the job market (Driscoll Goldberg, 1993), few have made it to the very top (Adair, 2009) in
recent years.
In this paper, it would like to examine the gender issues in employment and management and
analyze equal opportunities policies and strategies for managing diversity and work life balance.
First of all, the paper would like to examine the issues relating to women at work in terms of vertical
and horizontal gender segregation, and investigate theory to understand why and how subordination
of women exists in the workplace. Secondly, how individual women have progressed in
organizations and how they have broken through the glass ceiling will be looked. At this stage, some
successful women managers and entrepreneurs will be introduced. Finally, the policies and strategies
that governments and employers can adopt to address workplace discrimination including equal
opportunities policies,
The Role of a Setting in The Great Gatsby Essay
In F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby, the setting of New York in the nineteen twenties performs
an extensive role in the novel. Although the nineteen twenties are a time of economic prosperity,
they appear to be a time of corruption and crime as well. In New York, particularly, the nineteen
twenties are a time of corruption and moral scarcity. The setting is during the Jazz Ageas well, where
popularity, fashion, and commerce are a primary inclination. The setting of The Great Gatsby
efficaciously portrays the behavior of the characters in The Great Gatsby, as well as the plot and
development. The setting assiduously delineates how themes, motifs, and symbols can fluctuate in
relation to the time or location. The setting of The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This occasion displays how potentially careless and morally corrupt the citizens of New York in the
nineteen twenties can be. It is occasions like these that prominently portray the depth of moral
corruption in relation to the significance of the setting in The Great Gatsby. The nineteen twenties
can be bestowed numerous names, such as The Roaring Twenties, or The Prosperity Decade. One
name, however, is specifically attached to the nineteen twenties; The Jazz Age. It is during the
nineteen twenties that jazz music becomes emphatically prevailing. With this new age, however,
as with every age, comes a demeanor of fashion, spirit, and custom. The wealthy class of the Jazz
Age, composing of Jay Gatsby, the Buchanans, and so on, prospers during this time. In chapter
three, Nick Carraway proceeds to one of Jay Gatsby s splendid parties, and scrutinizes the
denouement of the amalgamation of wealth and a Jazz Age party. As Nick Carraway alleges on
page forty, By seven o clock the orchestra has arrived, no thin five piece affair, but a whole pitful
of oboes and trombones and saxophones and viols and cornets and piccolos, and low and high
drums... The bar is in full swing, and floating rounds of cocktails permeate the garden outside, until
the air is alive with chatter and laughter... From the quote on page forty, one may indubitably
visualize how those such as Jay Gatsby or the Buchanans subsist on an everyday basis. During the

Spanish Bullfighting Research Paper
If you are traveling, particularly in Spain s southern region of Andalusia, there are few places that
you can t find a bullring within a short drive. The Spaniards have long been fascinated with the
contest between the brave matador and the mad beast. Every week during bullfighting season that
lasts from March to October, thousands of Spaniards watch a corrida de toros, bullfight. In fact,
the first bullfight is traced back to 711 A.D. when the sport was viewed in honor of the crowning of
King Alfonso VIII. At that time, nobles on horseback participated in the sport. However, all of that
was changed when King Felipe V ended this trend because he didn t think it was right for men of
such nobility to take part in violent contests. After that, the commoners took it over as their game.
Since they didn t have horses, they changed the game from horseback to foot. There has been some
return to riding on horseback in bullfighting, but primarily the participants are on foot. While there
has been and continues to be some limited opposition to bullfighting, it has found its place as an
important part of Spanish history and culture. In fact, bullfighting in Spainis as widespread as

Through the use of a series of passes with capes, the matador learns a great deal about how the
bull will charge and also his level of fierceness. Next, the matador uses the banderilleros, which
are harpoon pointed colorful sticks that he jabs into the bull s back. Then two picadores who are
bullfighters on horseback enter the ring armed with a vara. The horses the picadores ride are
heavily padded and blindfolded. The vara used by the picadores is a long lance that is used to
attack the muscle on the bull s neck. In this phase, with the blood loss, the bull s charge is lessoned

Thermo catalytic Degradation of Waste Polythene into lubricants using Zeolite
Mr. Amol Vagad Department of Instrumentation Engineering,
MCT s Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology,
Mumbai, India
[email protected] ABSTRACT: Waste polythene primarily in the form of used
polythene bags, comprises of most of the plastic pollution caused in India. Many processes have
been developed to combat this issue which includes pyrolysis and catalytic cracking. This paper
states an experiment that was carried out using catalytic cracking using Zeolite (ZSM 5). The
catalyst in presence of heat helped to break down the polymer molecules. The experiment gave a
product which consisted of 80% grease. The obtained product can be used for various industrial and
domestic applications where lubrication is required. The recyclable nature of the catalyst makes this
process efficient, affordable as well as environment friendly.
KEYWORDS: polythene, pyrolysis, catalytic cracking, Zeolite, grease.
I.INTRODUCTION
Pollution due to waste plastic has been a very largeissue in countries like India and China in the
Asian region. India generates 5.6 million tones of plastic waste annually. In this large plastic waste
there is a large share of the metro cities [4].

Two Main Concept In The Sorrows Of Goethe
He studied science also as he was interested in it too. He studied Anatomy, Botany, Optics, Geology
and the Morphology a subject that he liked the most (Ibid). He also studied light carefully and gave
theory of colors that challenges the Newton s theory of colors (Eckermann J.P conversation with
Goethe).
On March 15, 1832 Goethe suffered from sudden respiratory attack that he believed is for few
moments. He dressed himself and set on armchair where he died and was laid together with Schiller
in grand ducal vault (Goethe, J.W.V. Autobiography: Truth and Fiction...)

Goethe claims that he wrote this book in four weeks. It was published in Germany and was soon
translated in many languages (Goethe Autobiography: Truth and Fiction...). The book has two major
themes; an unhappy love, rebel against bourgeois society and religious doctrines. Carlyle says, The
Sorrows of young Werther described the feelings of modern minds. These are the feelings which
English poetry never offered and perhaps can not (Goethe Autobiography: Truth and Fiction...).
Book can be called semi autobiography of Goethe. Henry Lewes says, Werther is not Goethe but
part of him (1968). Kestner, friend of Goethe, once said to him after the publication of Werther that
he has not described sincerely the relationship of Charlotte with Goethe himself, it has been
exaggerated (Ibid).
The novel describes rebel against social and religious conventions. It refuses compromise on the
social evils too. Suicide of Werther is the representation of rebel against the bourgeois society and
sincerity with the humanistic ideals of Werther; that he knows no compromise on this situation.

The Invention of the Bicycle
Bicycle, as one of the most ordinary items in the recent 21th century, actually possesses the legendary
experience of triggering the development of the new freedoms of women during the 1890s. In the
article Reframing the Bicycle: Advertising Supported Magazines and Scorching Women, the author
Ellen Garvey illustrates that the emergence of the accessible bicycling for women became the target
of conservative attack. The conservative views believed that the bicyclewould become threats to
women s sexual purity and gender definition. The advent of advertisingsupported magazines, articles
and fictions, on the other hand, played a significant role in shifting the conservative ideas for the
public concerning with the commercial interests of the bicycle industry. Generally, the author did a
tremendous job on analyzing some specific articles, advertisements and fictional stories for both
sides of the anti bicyclers and probicyclers. However, the author neglected to explain the social
background of why women s bicycle riding would receive the conservative attack for the readers
from 21th century and why the advertising, articles and fictions would influence the conservative
views. The main thesis of this article is that the discourse of consumption constituted by the
advertising, articles, and fictionwithin the developing mass market magazine of the 1890s subsumed
both feminist and conservative views in the interest of sales (p. 66). Then, the author started
introducing the
The Renaissance Era The Baroque Era And The Baroque Era
Constantly, music has been a part of everyday life for centuries, dating back to the earliest Biblical
records. But over the years there have been many ages contributing to music. All of them were
significant to history, but only three were the most inspiring. All three discovered new ways to
compose melodies people around the world still listen to and perform. These influential eras in music
are: the Renaissanceera, the Baroqueperiod, and the Classical era. The subjects will be in order from
earliest and so on, starting with the Renaissance.
The Renaissance Era
Dating back to the 1400s, the Renaissance era started at the end of the medieval era. The era had
many major composers and came up with an abundance of new instruments. Most composers had
been involved in the church because secular music was not as popular at that time.
Music was difficult to distribute to people in the early 1400s. Consequently, the development of
the printing press in the early 1400s, made it easier to deliver music to a more broad scale of
people. One composer who took advantage of the printing press was Thomas Tallis. He used it to
make his own music sought after by the public. He was allowed exclusive rights to use England s
printing press to publish music (Green 1). Tallis specialized primarily in choir like music. He was
the most well known Renaissance artists of his time. A few of his works included Salve intemerata
virgo, Ave rosa sine spinis, and Ave Dei patris filia. Tallis even
