Being A Marine Essay
Bedosky Being a Marine is one of the hardest, most dangerous, stressful, and life changing
occupations in the world. Yet through all the hardships of it it is the most rewarding and thrilling
to fight on every frontier for the protection and wellbeing of your country. Being a marine means
holding the highest levels of courage, commitment, and integrity, it means patriotism and glory as
well as the honor of being in the footsteps of those who served before. As well as the honor of
serving besides some of the most dedicated and toughest soldiers in the world who are ready for
anything at anytime. Being a marineis tiring and not for the faint of heart. The training is long and
difficult to prepare the recruits either reserve or active duty... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For recruit class marines one must have at least a highschool diploma, an officer in the marines
needs at least 2 years of college in communications, as stated by Career Cruising in the education
and requirements section, You also need to meet physical standards for height, weight, vision, and
overall health. You ll need a high school diploma as well. This is required for all branches of the
military. Marines don t exactly need to focus on a singular subject or on one class, they have to
excel in all classes mainly so no single class is specifically needed. Skills that are a necessity in
the marines in the ability to communicate through hand signals, as well as team leadership skills.
Marines work on leadership skills even if they aren t training to be an officer, it builds trust in
fellow soldiers and confidence to make decisions without hesitation. Different classes of marines
are able learn different skills and work in different areas. As stated by Career Cruising in the job

Phoebe Buffay
The character I chose is Phoebe Buffay from the show F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I have watched this show
for some time and have always been a fan. When we started learning about psychological diseases,
I started noticing the symptoms of the disease I think she has. Even though there are many signs
and symptoms that are used to be able to distinguish this psychological disorder, some can only
portray some effects but they can still have the disease. In the show Phoebe is known as the flaky
blonde girl who has many crazy ideas and stories. This includes her trying to raise a family of rats
in a box and swings wildy to her thinking that she is being possessed by the ghost of an old woman.
In many episodes of the show you can catch her saying things
Russi An Extraordinary Outburst Of Social And Cultural Change
Russia has been around for a long time and has evolved over the years. Their ability to adapt to
their environment as a country and, essentially, become a powerhouse in the world, is a great feat
in itself. Over time Russia developed their social climate, economic system, military power and
efficiency, as well as infrastructure. Today, I will be discussing how their military, political views,
economics, social views, infrastructure and physical environment all relate together and has
enhanced Russia s ability to stay a powerhouse. Russia has been around since 800 b.c. and has
seen the rise and fall of many bad leaders as well as the rise and fall of many different good
political leaders ( A brief history of Russia , 2005). Since the Soviet era, Russia has had an
extraordinary outburst of social and cultural change ( A brief history of Russia , 2005). Russia
developed radical styles of constructivism, futurism, and supremacism during this time. In 1924,
there was a struggle for power in the Communism party after Lenin s death ( A brief history of
Russia , 2005). During the latter half of the decade, a victor emerged and that was Stalin. He
immediately dictated the way agricultural lands were collectivized, creating large, state run farms.
Industrial development was pushed along at breakneck speed, and production was almost entirely
diverted from consumer products to capital equipment. Stalin repressed religion, closing churches,
destroying them and converting
Analysis Of The Medieval Laws Of Chivalry In Ivanhoe
Sir Walter Scott s book Ivanhoe encompasses, as critic Ragussis says, ...the primarily aesthetic
nature of Romantic medievalism (Ragussis 89)[ Michael Ragussis, Figures of Conversion: The
Jewish Question and English National Identity, Duke University Press, 1995, Ch.3]. In other
words, Sir Walter Scott wrote a great piece of literary work about a society in which the laws of
chivalry reigned supreme. By the end of this literary Romance, the reader conjectures that the
protagonist, Ivanhoe, has the choice of choosing either Rowena or Rebecca for his bride. Just by
considering the women as for whether they are the right woman for Ivanhoe leaves both Rowena
and Rebecca matched, with a slight inclination towards Rebecca. However, if we consider the
rules of medieval chivalry, we instantly comprehend that Rowena is the right woman for
Ivanhoe. In this literary analysis, I will first explain how Rowena and Rebecca happen to be
matched in just view of their person. Then I will clarify the medieval laws of chivalry and how it
pertains to the topic. By the end of the paper, I hope to elucidate why Rowena was the right
woman. The points I will use to compare the person of Rowena and Rebecca are the historical, the
political, their looks, their character, and their virtue. Historically it was frowned upon if a
Christian married a Jew. This was due to the prevalence of Anti Semitism in the medieval Christian
life. A mixed marriage of this sort would only be tolerated if the Jew
Determinations Of Sucrose Concentration In Solanum...
Independent variable
Sucrose concentration (M) (±0.01 g) This variable would impact the investigation as the higher the
concentration of sucrose that is used in this experiment, the average percent change in mass in
Solanum tuberosum core will decrease. This will occur due to the fact as the solute concentration
begins to increase in the water, the solution will eventually become hypertonic, thus the percent
change in mass of the Solanum tuberosum core will start to decrease as water molecules move from
a region of low solute concentration inside the core to the higher solute concentration outside of the
core.

The amount of sucrose will be manipulated by concentrating it with water. The required amount of
sucrose for this experiment would be calculated using the formula:
Molarity (M) = moles of solute/ Litres of solution

Mass of solute = (moles of solute) (molar mass of solute)

Dependent variable
Average percent change in mass (%) Since the goal of this experiment is to estimate the osmolarity
of the Solanum tuberosum core, it is appropriate to measure the average percent change in mass, as
when the sucrose concentration is increased, the average percent change in mass will decrease.
Eventually, as the sucrose concentration increases, the Solanum tuberosum core will reach a 0%
change in mass, where the osmolarities will be equal.

The average percent change in mass will be determined by first finding the difference in mass of the
Solanum tuberosum core
The Toughest Questions In Life
Beginnings are usually scary and endings are usually sad, but it s everything in between that makes
it all worth living.

To me, one of the toughest questions in life is, how can you possibly make everything in between
worth living with such limited given time?

When I was young my parents used to tell me:

Time is free
But it s priceless

You can t own it

But you can use it

You can t keep it

But you can spend it

Once you ve lost it

You can never get it back

The final two lines of this quote have stuck with me and often play over and over in my head.

Time. It is arguably our most valuable commodity, yet some people are given so little to spend.
Unlike treasured gems, precious metals, and any other prized possessions, time can t be hoarded,
collected, earned, or bought with hard work, money, dignity, or our soul. It slips away whether or
not we choose to pack meaning into it. Use it or lose it, so goes the saying.

Though we all know how limited our lives are, we sometimes act like we don t know the value of
time. We use words like spend, kill, or waste when we speak of using the finite number of hours in ...

sorrow. Despite me feeling so empty when he passed, I felt as though all the pain and suffering

After he passed away, I decided to start living my life with more meaning and purpose and I then
came to the realization that when I pass away I too and going to leave behind family and loved

will be worthwhile. As the saying goes, It s not about the name your parents give you, it s about the

Specialist schools. The special educational needs (SEN) team are supported by a very active group
who make sure that they provide a range of activities to meet the needs of our ever growing
community of special schools, as well as colleagues in mainstream primary and secondary schools.
Their aim is to work together to ensure good practice to promote effective approaches to enhance the
students learning with Special educational needs. Other schools that are available in the U.K are:
Independent schools Independent schools sets out their own curriculum and admission policies as
the Head Teacher and the governors decide on the admissions policy. These schools are funded by
parents and also from income from investments; half of them have charitable status. All the
independent school must be registered with the Department for Education (DfE).They do not have to
follow the national curriculum and the head teacher and governing board decide on the admissions
criteria. Inspections may not be carried out by Ofsted but by ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate).
Academies Academies schools are set up by sponsors from businesses, faith or voluntary groups and
are independently managed schools which jointly fund the land and buildings, although the
government does still cover the running costs. They do still have very close links with the Local
Education Authority, but have more freedom than
First Stage Of A Search Warrant Essay
The first stage of a search warrant happens prior to executing the warrant. First I would apply for
the warrant detailing specifically where I will be conducting the search, what items I am looking
for such as the MacBook. Once a judge approves the search warrant I would review it one more
time before starting to execute. I would be double checking to make sure all of the information is
correct and looking over and search protocols the judge may have added when approving the
search. These could be things such as not being able to look for evidence of another crimeand so on.
Once I have received the approved warrant I would review it, looking at any changes the judge
made. The second part of search warrant execution is to execute the warrant... Show more content on

California and U.S. V. Wurie. These cases changed the way law enforcement officers are able to
collect and examine digital evidence, specifically involving mobile phones. The two cases were
combined and looked at by the supreme court. They both had instances where suspects phones were
examined using search incident to arrest exception to the search warrant. In the first case, Riley V.
California, the defendants phone was examined after a search of his vehicle resulted in other
contraband being located. The defendant in Riley V. California argued that because phones don t
pose an immediate safety risk to arresting officers they don t fall under the search incident to arrest
exception. In U.S. V. Wurie, the defendants phone was examined because it was receiving multiple
calls from an unknown number at the time. Both defendants argued that because modern mobile
phones contain so much personal information it would be unlawful to search them without a
warrant. The resulting decision was that cellphones seized during an arrest require a search warrant
to be examined. Because they contain so much personal information and they pose no safety risk to
arresting officers they don t fall under the search incident to arrest exception and therefore require a
search warrant to be examined. This drastically changes how investigators can act when looking at
mobile phones and when arresting
Charlotte Lottie Digges Moon Research Paper
MI251 Charlotte Lottie Digges Moon was born in 1840; she was the third child for her parents
and had four sisters and two brothers. Her father, Edward Moon was the largest slave holder in
Albemarle County; and was also a merchant and a lay preacher in the Baptist church. Her father
was the owner of a fifteen hundred acre tobacco plantation known as Viewmont . As a young girl
growing up Lottie was known for her astuteness and mischievous behavior. While living at home
she studied with tutors, and in 1857 she went on to further her education at Albermarle Female
Institute. While she was in college some of her school friends invited her to a revival. The thought

When girls were school age their feet began bending to make them smaller. Their feet were swathe

North Carolina Prison Summary
Experts examined the effect of prison college education programs on the recidivism s rate. the
sample population are offenders who completed a post secondary education while incarcerated and
those held a high school diploma/GED or did not take any education programs. The sampling frame
were all inmates released from North Carolina prisons through 2014. Under the direction of NC
Court of Appeals Judge John B. Lewis, Jr., committee chair person for the North Carolina Bar
Association s Alternative to present systems of Punishment office, the researchers could mail letters

Of these inmates 60, 35 men and 25 women. The experiment assured that the research was
representative. The participants in this study originally resided in one female prison and 5 prisons of
North Carolina. All Inmates were high custody prisons serving high risk offenders (Stevens
Ward, 1997, p.108). The treatment group were those who did not have any college degree when
they were convicted, sent to prison, and earned a degree prior to be released. The college degree
in this study includes a one year college certificate, an associate s degree, or a bachelor s degree.
The comparison group were those who held a high school diploma or did not have any education
while incarcerated. After the participants were released, they were tracked for a three year period
(Kim Clark, 2013, p. 199). The participants were sent to search for jobs. The study took into
consideration who had more opportunity to find a job, and the reasons the employers considered
before hiring or not hiring the individual. The study also collected employer s information about the
individual s performance at work. The expert kept tracking the recidivism s rate among the
participants. The recidivism rate was measured by any arrest for a crime occurring within the three
year period (Kim Clark, 2013, p. 199). Finally, the researchers compared the records of inmates
who completed a degree with the inmates who earned a HSD/GED or did not completed any

Farmer, Political Boss, and Immigrant
Farmer, Political Boss, and Immigrant

Various people from the late nineteenth century held diverse opinions on political issues of the day.
The source of this diversity was often due to varying backgrounds these people experienced. Three
distinct groups of people are the farming class, the political bosses, and the immigrants, who poured
into the country like an unstoppable flood. These groups of people also represented the social
stratification of the new society, which had just emerged from rapid industrialization. These three
groups had large differences in many aspects such as power, amount of money, and influence in
political events of the day. The political boss dominated local city governments and pretended to be

The prices of staple goods dropped dramatically from the1860s to the 1890s. The farmers were
losing large amounts of money that they desperately needed. The tariff on manufactured goods
vexed the farmers because even though their own profits were decreasing, the prices of important
manufactured goods were not due to absence of foreign competition. The farmers were further
bothered by the domestic marketing system which allowed numerous middlemen to take large
shares of the profit of agriculture. There was a shortage of credit, which made it difficult to finance
the construction of necessary improvements. The farmers were plagued by numerous natural disasters
including tornadoes, floods, and droughts. These conditions, which could destroy property and
crops, also provided a difficult environment to grow crops. If the crops could not be grown, the
farmer had no means of supporting him and his family. After a boom in the mid 1880s, the
population of western farm states increased enormously. This large influx of people contributed to
the destruction of open range cattle raising. A prolonged drought following these boom years
devastated the farmers and many soon returned East with no money and low morale. Thus, farmers
were dissatisfied with government policy and politicians began to discuss resolutions to their
problems. Many farmers began to
Essay on Classification of Dog Personalities
As the owner of three unique pups, I know that dogs variances are numerous. Any one who owns a
dog knows that it has a mind of its own, and therefore a unique personality. Having had many dogs
throughout my life, I have found that dogs fit into three classifications.
Annie dogs As princesses of the canine universe, Annie type dogs have a loving yet manipulative
personality. An Annie dog assumes the role of queen bee. As leader of the pack, she keeps

They literally start to squirm. This excitement epitomizes the carefree nature of Winnie type
dogs. Around our house, we refer to these types of dogs as stuck in the teenage years. They have
perfect, adult like bodies, but gawky movements and lighthearted behaviors, which show the kid
that still resides in them. Winnie types are unpredictable sleepers, needing to find the perfect
position (often achieved by circling multiple times over all of the papers you are working on just
to get as close to you as possible before falling asleep), needing to be untouched, and needing near
silence to fall asleep. However in contrast to the Annie type dogs, Winnie dogs can sleep through
it all (that is after ruining all of your homework and falling asleep so close to you that you cannot
manage to move your elbow enough to even rewrite your English assignment). The benefit of
their deep sleep, however, is it gives you a chance to tell them your problems. They listen well,
and their serene expression, really does give the perfect answer to dilemmas, quite often. Winnie
dogs are goofs, but loving, goofs. They look at you with inquisitive eyes which reveal the
compassion needed on a bad day. They love to play with you, love to sleep with you, and love to eat
with you (either in their own bowl on the floor beside your kitchen table, or on the couch begging
for a bite of your cereal). Seeing as to how dogs mainly eat, sleep, and play, Winnie type dogs
