Disadvantages Of Blockchain Technology
Blockchain Technology

a) Introduction to Blockchain Technology

As defined by Marc Andreessen, the co founder of influential Silicon Valley venture capital firm
Andreessen Horowitz, Blockchain technology is a way for one Internet user to transfer a unique
piece of digital property to another Internet user, such that the transfer is guaranteed to be safe and
secure, everyone knows that the transfer has taken place, and nobody can challenge the legitimacy of
the transfer.
Virtually anything of value can be tracked and traded on a blockchain network, reducing risk and
cutting costs for all involved.

b) Advantages and Disadvantages

Fraud, cyberattacks, and even simple mistakes add to the cost and complexity of doing business,
and they expose all participants in the network to risk if a central system, such as a bank, is
compromised.
Credit card organizations have essentially created walled gardens with a high price of entry.
Merchants must pay the high costs of onboarding, which often involves considerable paperwork and
a time consuming vetting process.
Half of the people in the world don t have access to a bank account and have had to develop parallel
payment systems to conduct transactions.a dark side to

With such wide ranging possibilities, there is no surprise that blockchain has the potential to
enhance the quality of service delivery while improving confidentiality and integrity of data. With
its promise of providing secure and transparent transactions, blockchain seems poised to be one of
the digital world s key pillars.

C) Two Ways Blockchain Can Be Used

The potential use for the blockchain is vast. It could be applied to almost any form of record
keeping, agreement, contract or register.

Bowel Cancer Issues
A current health issue which I encountered in my placement was bowel cancer. This essay will
provide an overview of the research process, explanation of the client and their health issue and
relate the care that the client received to two of the Nursing Council of New Zealand s
Competencies, within domain two (NCNZ, 2012b, p.14).
To locate my resources for this essay I used the EBSCOhost database and the Nursing Reference
Center, both of which were accessed through the WINTEC website. From there I refined my
search by full text articles and articles between 2012 and 2017. This created a narrower search
window for my research. I entered search words such as: bowel cancer , bowel cancer screening ,
bowel cancer treatment and bowel cancer ... Show more content on [Link] ...
If the FIT comes back positive the client is then offered further diagnostic testing, which is usually
a colonoscopy (MOH, 2017). The FIT is particularly important for the detection of colorectal cancer
as 80% of patients with this test positive ( Fecal occult blood tests , 2016). A colonoscopy involves a
doctor inserting a flexible scope into the anus, to visualise the interior walls of the rectum and colon (
Colonoscopy, assisting , 2016). During the colonoscopy, the doctor is able to remove any polyps in
the colonic or rectal wall and/or take samples as required ( Colonoscopy, assisting , 2016; MOH,
2017). Any samples that are taken are sent to the laboratory where a diagnosis can be made, usually
within a period of two weeks (Davis at al., 2016, p.305).
Boswell, Cannon and Miller (2013) describe holistic nursing care as care which encompasses the
whole person: the physical, spiritual, family and mental health (p.303). In practice, I found it useful
to integrate the Te Whare Tapa Wha health model. Although this model was more specifically
created for Maori clients I discovered that it can be incorporated into the care for everyone. The Te
Whare Tapa Wha model involves caring for the whole patient, tending to all aspects of their health;

Cobalt Systems is a multinational corporation present in more than 50 countries divided into
regions. Cobalt Systems is a highly centralized organization as all the operations throughout the
world are overseen by 13 US based Management Board members. The company large number of
layers between the Management Board and the local employees (hierarchical organization) doesn t

SilverLight wants its employees to do things the Silverlight way and join the SilverLight family
for the rest of their careers whereas Cobalt wants all its employees around the world to adopt the
Cobalt culture. Cobalt sees its subsidiaries as national assets that have to be closely protected
from competitors and therefore fully owned by Cobalt whereas SilverLight is seen as a Korean
pride by the Koreans and the government and is cross owned by a multitude of firms forming the
SilverLight Chaebol. Cobalt s world operations are overseen by 13 US based Management Board
members creating a hierarchical organization whereas SilverLight is part of a horizontal multi
industry organization (the SlverLight Chaebol) and he still closely tied to the government due to
historical reasons. 2. Using the cross cultural criteria defined in class, list the expected
discrepancies in the behavior of the Korean and US negotiators. For western companies and
American ones in particular, time is money. However, in Asian cultures time is no relevant at all. It
is probably why it was the Korean company rather than the American one who decided to take a
break in the negotiation process. Therefore, the American negotiator will have to learn to take his
time and not rush the conversation directly to business matters. It is important to know that Koreans
want to get to know the people they are going
Political Changes In Cuba
The country of Cuba is a nation that has gone through a great amount of change throughout its
history, especially during the period of the early 1960s up through the late 1970s. However, the
element of Cuba that has gone through the most change was its politics and international relations.
Cuba s politics and international relations with North America, South America, Europe and Africa
have been key factors and the reasons why Cubas economy, society and culture are shaped the way
they are now.
The year Castro and Che Guevara defeated Fulgencio Batista, Fidel took control of Cuba and
crowned himself the new prime minister of his country. The successful revolution represented one of
the most profound social transformations ever seen in the Americas (Strug, 68). Cuba, a country that
has always been controlled by a stronger nation throughout its history, was finally free. As discussed
in lecture, the United States was not happy with the success of the revolution due to the fact that
they had a great deal of investments in the country of Cuba and they could no longer control the
government as they once did. Once in power, Fidel Castro had the ... Show more content on

capture and deaths of many Cuban exiles. The prisoners of war were freed by the Fidel Castro
after the United States agreed to pay Cuba fifty million dollars worth of food and medicine. This
standoff caught the eyes of all nations around the world especially to all the latin countries that were
excited that someone had finally stood up to the imperialist United States. Fidel Castro s success

Cartoon Violence
Cartoons on a television are glue to children. Children will spend hours a day watching their favorite
cartoons, such as SpongeBob SquarePants or Adventure Time. Unfortunately, the content on these
shows, and several others, can harm children. Directly, cartoons can affect how children think and
act; additionally, this leads to the indirect effect of children physically hurting one another. Children
daily see hundreds of violent acts on television. Most parents notice the obvious acts of gore and try
to avoid those types of shows; however, what parents do not realize is that cartoons contain just as
much, if not more, violenceper episode. When parents see shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants,
for example, they seem more comical... Show more content on [Link] ...
Therefore, the children that do become used to the violence do not realize how much they are
absorbing, and are thus more likely to keep watching and increase the damage already inflicted onto
their minds. Additionally, younger children who watch violent cartoons tend to believe they can
mimic what is on screen. A news story in China where children attempted to mimic their favorite
cartoon with near fatal consequences reads:

The Li brothers tragedy began one fine April afternoon with a bit of play acting. When 10 year
old Shun Shun ran into eight year old Li Haoran and his little brother Li Hao, four, just outside of
their village of Mawang, near Lianyungang in Jiangsu province, the three friends decided to play a
game. They would act out the big wolf roasting the lamb an idea the boys later said they got from
the popular children s television series Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf. Taking the role of wolf,
Shun Shun used some scrap cloth he found nearby to tie the two brothers to a tree. After piling
some dried leaves around their feet, he set it alight. Within minutes, strong gusts of wind blew the
fire out of control. The terrified Shun Shun ran away, leaving the Li boys screaming for help. A
passing villager heard their cries and rushed to help. But by the time flames were put out, the
brothers were severely burned. The boys were rushed to the county hospital and transferred on the
same night to a city hospital, which had better facilities. For a month, it
Qualities of Heros in In the Time of the Butterflies by...
How would you determine if some one was a hero or not? What characteristics would they obtain?
Do you think you have hero like qualities? The Maribal sisters are three young girls who start an
underground revolution against their very own dictator. This revolution is still remembered today.
They realized the man Trujillo was not who he said he was or who he wanted to be viewed as. The
group in the underground revolution were known as The butterflies. One
Maribal sister, named Minerva was who I believe to be the true hero in the history of this event.
She was responsible, stood up to Trujillo, and followed her dreams to go to college and obtain a law
degree.

thrusting his pelvis at me in a vulgar way, and I can see my hand in an endless slow motion rise all

Trujillo invades Minerva s personal space and she slaps him because she knows who he truly is.
Minerva stands up to him and does not let Trujillo treat her like the rest of the girls.
Minerva is in no way a push over. This is hero like quality to have, she stands up for what she
believes is right and will also go to the next level to do the things she wants to do. Minerva made it
possible for herself to go to college and get a law degree. I want to go the university......I ve always
wanted to study law. P.65 Minerva tells Trujillo about her wanting to study law, a trait that not
many people think of women to do in these days. I m not interested in admirers until I have my law
degree. P.66 Minerva explains to Trujillo that her law degree is more important to her than other
things. She shows that she doesn t need or want a thing to do with him or anything that comes
between her law degree. Minerva insists, though, that I give law a chance. P. 87 Minerva is
perusing her dream of getting a law degree and explains to her sister that it would be good to invest
in. The way that Minerva
The Secularization Of Christmas
Many people celebrate Christmas differently. Some focus on presents. Some focus on giving and
their family. But what does it really mean? Christmas really means Christ s Mass and celebrates the
approximate birth of Jesus Christ. Today s Christmas has been secularized, and even though it s still
sometimes celebrated with thanking Christ and being with family, it has become quite a commerical
holiday. In these times of anti theism and secularism, we need to remember what Christmasis all
about, JesusChrist, through the prophecies of the Old Testament. There are many Bible verses of
the Old Testament that prophesied of Jesus Christ s birth and his kingdom. Micah 5:1 2 says a
ruler of Israel will come from Bethlehem. Isaiah 40:3 5 says a messenger... Show more content on

Well, these verses prophesied the first coming of Jesus, and everything the verses described
happened. It is sad, however, that the scripture said the Jews would not accept Jesus and was right.
Jesus was persecuted, rejected, and killed just as the prophecies said. The Jews thought he make a
majestic entrance. But he was humbly born to a virgin in the little town of Bethlehem. On the bright
side, Jesus Christ is the most important thing that ever happened to the world. Christ is the center of
Christianity, Christmas, and Easter. He is God and sent the Holy Spirit to guide us and provide a
direct line with God. Without Him, most people of the world would not be saved, but only the
Jews. Now, all people of the world, regardless of race, ethnicity, or nationality can accept Jesus
Christ as their lord and savior. Still, it is strange that the Jews, all their life, were preparing for the
coming of the Messiah yet completely rejected as prophecy foretold. In fact, that s one of the
main purposes of the Old Testament, besides the documentation of the Jew s ancient history. God
s plan all along was to have all peoples of the world to be able to saved by the Messiah and spread his
The Relationship between Political Structure and Economic...
In the book Prosperity and Violence, the author Robert Bates reveals the relationship between
political structures and economic exploitation. Bates did an outstanding job highlighting the ways
the early states in Europe came forth, but his argument had some weakness. Bates shows how in the
post World War II era, many of the countries of the Third World gained their independence in the
heart of the split of the Cold War, which both the Soviet Unionand United Stateswere in search for
allies around the world to destabilize the position of the other country. Bates argues that in
undercutting the process of state development, both the Soviet Union and United States had to offer
exploitation assistance to gain alliances with the new and poor country in order to generate
legitimately functioning economies, which I seem not to be convincing. Lastly, Bates argues that
the increasing of new cities promoted prosperity, which brought economic growth not only in the
urban centers, but also in the countryside, which I believed was logical. Political structure and
economic development were the theme throughout the book. Bates arguments throughout the book
seem to be adopting a liberal approach in his case studies to me. Bates focused on ideas of liberty
and equality when he was talking about the relationship of private property and free trade. It also
seemed to me that Bates was taking a Marxism theory approach in some spots. Bates was basing the
agrarian societies on class relations,

Formulas Are Set Patterns For Expressing Your Ideas
Formulas are set patterns for expressing your ideas. Also they enable you to pour your words into
recognizable article structures. Formulas, like outlines, impose discipline, help you determine the
components of your article and ensure that they relate to one another. Here are a few common
article formulas: Lists One of the most basic formulas for an article. A list article is just that a

Common Sales Objections, or Eight Ways To Avoid Workplace Injuries are list articles that
deliver a cluster of facts based on an overall theme. How To This is one the most common
formulas for experts, and for good reason. As the name suggests, this article tells readers how to
solve a problem, perform a process, or move toward a desired result. If you can show readers how
to do something, it follows that you have the expertise to perform it yourself. This eBook, for
example, is based on the How To formula. Case Histories This type of article shows readers how a
business solved a problem or addressed a need. A company that performs employee satisfaction
surveys could write an article aimed at managers on how it solved an employee retention problem
and saved its client thousands of dollars. The Roundup This formula relies on gathering information
from outside sources and presenting it around a working question or a theme. A roundup article is

Colonial Period Research Paper
Colonial Period Essay

The colonial period in the United States all started when people starting immigrating to Boston in
the 1630s. With high articulation of Puritan cultural ideas, the New England colonies have been
regarded as the center of early American literature. In class we only talked about a few of the
writing throughout the period but in this paper, I am going to tell you about the colonial period as a
whole. This writing period varied greatly in terms of quality and subject but in fact the literature in
this period can be classified into just ten genres. Number one: travel writing, most often written by
the explorers themselves to describe the land, indigenous peoples, and log the exploration, starting
with preparations for the journey, the voyage, arrival and explorations in the territory and
interactions with natives, and the return to Great Britain, if one was made. Two: historical writing;
historians have written in every age since the Hebrews wrote the Old Testament; these consist of
long essays or narratives and relate tell a nonfiction account of what transpired; usually written in the
third person, and covering significant events of general interest. Three: religious writing, usually
written by clergy in the form of journals, sermons, or commentaries on ... Show more content on

The Overwhelming Importance of The Nuremburg Trials It was the virtue of the Nuremberg trial
that it was conceived in hatred of war, and nurtured by those starved of peace. Of course, the trial
was botched and imperfect...it had to deal with new crimes for which there was no provision in
national law or international law. (Rebecca West). The trials were full of controversy and an
overwhelming hope for justice which was the motive behind everything. The creation of the first
concentration camp sparked the anger amongst the Allied nations leading to an increase of hostility.

It started with a German invasion on Poland which then quickly led to the creation of the first

led to the Nuremberg Trials. The trials were an important part of history because of the
prosecution on war criminals who explicitly treated people of different religions in a horrific way.
During the trials nearly one million case files were collected and stored for future uses. Harvard
Law school accumulated all files that were salvageable, created a project to digitize the documents
which led to the creation of the Nuremberg Trials archive. With generous amounts of funding, their
project is still operating and they are continuing to digitize the remaining documents. The files that
