(causes leukemia), cadmium, and
formaldehyde (used for embalming).

Cancer in the lungs, lips, tongue, mouth, nose,
esophagus, throat, voice box, stomach, liver,
kidney, pancreas, bladder, blood, cervix, vulva,
penis, and anus.

vessels and is the leading cause of death in the Philippines.

➢ Cancer – a disease where cells divide at an uncontrolled

the condition of the body wherein it is not capable of
producing or effectively use insulin.

➢ Chronic respiratory disease - occurs in the air paths and


other parts of the lungs. Symptoms include breathlessness,
chronic cough, and excessive mucus production.

one’s health and well-being a priority. It
is a choice made by an individual, a
commitment made for his good, and
that for his loved ones.

National Nutrition
Council (NNC)
also came up with
the Nutritional
Guidelines for
Filipinos:
Eat a variety of foods every day to get the nutrients needed by the
body.

Breastfeed infants exclusively from birth up to six months and then


give appropriate complementary foods while continuing
breastfeeding for two years and beyond for optimum growth and
development.

Eat more vegetables and fruits to get the essential vitamins,


minerals, and fiber for the regulation of body processes.

Consume fish, lean meat, poultry, egg, dried beans, or nuts daily for
growth and repair of body tissues.
Consume milk, milk products, and other calcium-rich food such
as small fish and shellfish, every day for healthy bones and
teeth.

Consume safe foods and water to prevent diarrhea and other


foodand water-borne diseases.

Use iodized salt to prevent Iodine Deficiency Disorders.

Limit intake of salty, fried, fatty, and sugar-rich foods to prevent


cardiovascular diseases.
Attain normal body weight through proper diet and moderate
physical activity to maintain good health and help prevent
obesity.

Be physically active, make healthy food choices, manage stress,


avoid alcoholic beverages, and do not smoke to help prevent
lifestyle-related noncommunicable diseas
Living a healthy lifestyle and
