Duality Vs Cliques
Has anyone ever noticed that everyone has two different sides? It can be the good side, or the bad
side it can be the gossip side, or a different side, but every one has two, or more sides no matter
what. For example, it happens a lot in cliques there can be a person that is in the popular clique.
One day they all are talking about how they hate science, but someone in the clique actually likes
science. However that persondoes not say anything about it because they do not want to be bullied
about it. Days latter that person is hanging out with the clique that likes science. That is an example
of how someone can have two sides. Even adults can have two different sides for instance, one day
they are talking to their friend on the phone, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Dictionary.com duality means an instance of opposition or contrast between two
concepts or aspects of something. Robert Louis Stevenson states man is not truly one, but truly
two . What does he mean by this? For example, one day someone meets someone and that person
looks perfectly fine, but the other person does not really know how the other person feels, or
what the other person has gone threw. In reality that person has been living there whole life full
of hatred scared to hurt someone till one day someone bothers that person, and that person reacts
in a very bad manner because the other person was bothering the other person and does something
wrong that no one would expect from that person. Then no one can believe what that person did
is true because that person had never done anything bad in there whole life. This is what duality
means to robert louis stevenson. Everyone has to accept who they are what they do, how they
feel, and how they think. If someone has a bad side they should not hide it they should just accept
that part of them and learn to live with it because if they hide it and they try to put it away and
one day the bad side takes over the person and that person explodes in front of everyone then every
one would have a very different perspective of that person.. However if that person learns how to
control their bad side and live with it then they will not have to hide that part of

A Meteor will Strike the Earth and Destroy All Life Forms
With millions and millions of meteors hurtling around in our solar system, there s always a
chance that one could hit Earth at any moment. But what would be the consequences and how
would the Earth be affected if one does happen to hit? If an object from space hit the sea, a huge
tidal wave would be formed, hundreds of meters high, which would leave most of the world under
water for a period of time, destroying and killing everything in it s way. This would have a
catastrophic effect on the Earth, as most people would be killed, and leaving countries powerless,
unable to do anything. Crops would also be destroyed, starvation would kill all of the survivors,
homes would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scientists have never proven this to be 100 % true, but it is one of the beliefs on how the dinosaurs
became extinct. Both scientists and paleontologists, feel that a meteor must of hit Earth, a few
million years ago, killing the dinosaurs. The meteor that might of wiped out the dinosaurs also could
have brought about the ice age, because of the huge dust cloud that was thrown into the air.
Also, even though this meteor strike never hit Earth, the world watched in awe as thousands of
meteors hit the planet Jupiter two years ago. For about one week, many meteors collided into Jupiter
causing huge craters on it s surface. If the meteors hit the Earth instead of Jupiter the world might
have been destroyed. Almost every American has to know of the crater in Arizona. About
49,000 years ago, a 150 foot meteor hit into the present day state of Arizona. This is the biggest
crater in the United States.
Throughout time, there have been many meteors that have hit
Earth causing great damage, but the scary thing is that there are still trillions and trillions of
meteors right outside our planet. In the Milky Way, the Earth is one of the planets with the greatest
chance of getting hit by a meteor. The Earth is only one planet away from the Asteroid Belt, which
is located between Mars and Jupiter. At any moment, a meteor could break free and head straight
towards Earth. With millions of meteors located in this belt there is
The Turn Of The Screw Ghost Essay
The Turn of the Screw, by Henry James, is ghost story that focuses on a young governess that
encounters a pair of ghosts. These ghosts play an important role in the story, but there has always
been a debate over whether the ghosts exist inside the story, or if they exist only in the governess
head. There is evidence within the book to support either claim, so the reality of the apparitions
ultimately depends on the reader s opinion. This paper will support the opinion that the two ghosts
that the governess sees are ultimately just figments of her imagination. Even though the governess
ghosts are not real, she believes them to be real, and her reaction to this belief precipitates the
unfortunate conclusion. The Turn of the Screwis a ghoststory, but the real ghosts in the book are
mostly ignored, which is not uncommon in literature, and examples of ignored ghosts can be found
in other works as well.
The two ghosts in The Turn of the Screw are ultimately just figments of the governess imagination,
due in part to her high emotional state. She is starting a new job, charged with the care of two
children, and the desire to do well in her new capacity helps to create this emotional state. Not long

. . the newfound freedom and authority of her position . . . [and] consequently, the governess s
mind becomes unsettled and constructs an elaborate delusion around . . . the specters of a dead
valet and a dead governess (40).
The ghosts of Quint and Miss Jessel are simply just hallucinatory manifestations of the governess s
hysterical mind (40). The ghosts of Quint and Miss Jessel enter the world through the fragmented
mind of the governess, and as Jennifer Sattaur says, Seeing ghosts can be considered one of the
symptoms of mental disturbance, regardless of whether the ghosts are real, imagined, or something
else altogether
Nazi Book Burning Research Paper
From 1933 to 1945 people all over Europe lived in fear. As the Propaganda and censorship used,
was brutally devastating as it involved the massive 1933 Nazi Book Burning, discrimination
between racial groups and the use of censorship towards those of both poor and great knowledge.
The Nazi s were Hitler s man killing armies who destroyed and separated family s and
children. The nazis targeted and discriminated many people to make the Aryan society. The
propaganda and censorship was burning jewish pride and culture. Even at the local level jews
were greatly targeted by the propaganda put up by the nazis. The nazis ordered all villages in the
district to build large anti jewish signs. (Hill, 98) Even some Jewish children couldn t go to
school because they weren t welcome there. The nazis had a specific way they wanted hate
spread out on paper. Posters had to be 30ft by 5ft. The word Jew shall be underlined in red and
must be conspicuous. When possible the poster is to be framed with a black margin. (Hill, 98, 99)
These Jewish poles lost everything: jobs, schools, property, land, and money. (Haugen, 17)... Show

Vocabulary Dat Video Analysis
Summer Video One: This video introduces new vocabulary terms. First of all, statistics is the
study of variability. Secondly, statistics is broken down into two parts descriptive and inferential.
Descriptive is when you collect data and talk about it. Inferential is when you take a sample and
use it to make an inference about the population. Thirdly, the video talks about the difference
between population and sample. Sample is a smaller part of the population. When you take a
sample and come up with an average, that average is called a statistic. When you find the average of
population, that average is called a parameter. Lastly, gathering information about the whole
population is called a census. In conclusion, a statistic based on a sample helps make an inference
about the parameter of the whole population. Summer Video Two: This video talks about random
variables. There are two types of variables quantitative and qualitative variables. Quantitative
variables are numerical (quantity= quantitative) , while qualitative variables categorical (quality=
qualitative). Examples of quantitative variables are height, GPA, and IQ. Examples of... Show more

Discrete deals with whole numbers for example IQ. Continuous deals with whole number, as well
as, decimals for example height. Summer Video Three: This video is about frequency, the number of
times something occurs in a category. Also this video shows how to make a frequency distribution
chart using test scores. First, the scores are tallied into groups. The number of tallies in each group
represent the frequency of each group. The relative frequency is the percentage of frequency in each
group. Cumulative frequency is the adding the total of one category and previous categories.
Relative cumulative frequency is turning cumulative frequency into percent. Also, a dot plot and
histogram can be used to determine frequency. Summer Video
Nazi Germany Propaganda Essay
Propaganda played an important part in Nazi Germany s role in WWII
Through the various methods of propaganda, Nazi Germany was able to persuade the citizens of
Germany into believing their ideals; therefore it is believed that propaganda served as one of Nazi
Germany s strongest points in WWII (Kathyrn Kinser, 2010). With Joseph Goebbels, an individual
who could effectively communicates his thoughts and ideas in the form of writing, he was appointed
as the minister of propaganda by Hitler in 1939, he was able to monopolize the forms of
entertainment and media that the citizens of Germany could access this included radio, books, movies
and posters (History.com, 2010). By exploring the methods of which Germany used propaganda,

An example of how the Nazi party used propaganda is shown in source 1; these were made to
promote the Nazi anti Semitic film The Eternal Jew which is also another form of propaganda.
By using films as a form of propaganda it would be beneficial since the film would depict the
Jews as villains and influence the audience to believe in that Jews should not be trusted. This film
was not successful however as the Nazi party over exaggerated the idea that Jews deserved to be
killed since they were demonic beings which was not taken well by the German
A Decrease in Unemployment Rates
Recently, many businesses are cutting jobs and not hiring new staff in the face of higher energy
and fuel prices along with a decrease in demand with retail sales for June 2013, as people have
lower business confidence, means that they have less disposable income. This demand deficient was
a main part of the cyclical unemployment problems experienced before this decade. (William
Schomberg and Christine Murray 2013)
The sudden decrease in the value of property and the demand for it due to credit crunch has seen a
significant number of construction companies and buildings create many unemployed people.
Employer confidence has decreased to its lowest level for 12 years. In other words, many businesses
may not hire new staff. (William Schomberg and Christine Murray 2013)
With the rise of 12,000 newly unemployed people in the recent quarter, the government has seen the
end of unemployment falls. This seems to continue into the near future, with no relief yet prominent
in the issues of less demand and decreased consumer spending. Further, more people are continuing
to lose their jobs and this will only cause the reduction in spending power of families, decrease
money in the economy and increase in reliance upon the state. (William Schomberg and Christine
Murray 2013)
Evaluation
The recent government has successfully allowed the unemployment to fall slowly and steadily over
the past decade. However, there have been large changes observed in the nature of unemployment
and also
Sarin Gas Tokyo
The 1995 gas attack in the Tokyo subway system stands as one of the most prominent terrorist
chemical attacks against civilians to date. Though the Japanese government was warned of the
impending violence nine months prior, they were caught ill prepared when it unfolded (Wright
Martin, 2008). The group known as Aum Shinrikyo was responsible for the subway attack and this
was not the first time they used sarin gas. The city of Matsumoto was the test bed that served as the
proving ground for the events that took place in Tokyo (Wright Martin, 2008).
Sarin gas, though not considered a persistent agent, does have the capability to kill large numbers
of people in relatively short fashion. As a method to attack critical infrastructure such as a subway
system or other confined locale, sarin is ideal as it is a colorless liquid at normal temperatures
with a vapor pressure of 2.9 millimeters of mercury at 25 degrees Celsius and generally ingested
via the respiratory system (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, n.d.). The
specific volatility of sarin is 17,000 mg/m3 at 25 degrees Celsius (Organisation for the Prohibition of
Chemical Weapons, n.d.). This quality is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There will always be groups who hate another for varying reasons and seek to destroy vice engage
in productive activities. Sarin gas is an insidious way to cause death and panic amongst relatively
unprotected civilian populations and will continue to prove attractive as long as there is a perceived
benefit to using it. Chemicals provide the terrorists with a tool that can cause the death toll of a
nuclear weapon if properly employed, but without the need for difficult to obtain fissile material. A
chemical attack of any form against a developed nation is going to degrade many aspects of that
society as such an attack is not personal in nature, but against an entire

her family members, thereby avoiding being married off to Paris. Originally
Primo Levi s Survival in Auschwitz Essay
Sarah Johnson
Personal Response to Survival in Auschwitz
Why is the pain of every day translated so constantly into our dreams, in the ever repeated scene of
the unlistened to story (Levi, p 60)? As I read this quote in my book, I highlighted it and wrote in
the margin foreshadowing . I feel confident that these dreams signified just that; that the author
(amongst the other survivors) would forever re live those horrors and try tell their stories...and no
one listens. The poem at the beginning of the book, Survival in Auschwitz, by Primo Levi, warns
us of just this and curses us should we fail to listen. It is imperative that we a global community
never forget and forever respect the struggle. I believe that this feeling, of sharing his ... Show more

We would think this to a reasonable response, however Levi goes on to educate otherwise. Kuhn
is out of his senses. Does he not see...Beppo, who is twenty years old and is going to the gas
chamber the day after tomorrow and knows it...? If I was God, I would spit at Kuhn s prayer
(p129). I thought that Levi s response to Kuhn s prayer was extreme at first, for isn t it customary
to give thanks for good fortune? But then as I reflected on this, Levi was absolutely correct. How
dare one man thank God for living another day when the man beside him has been condemned?
There is no rhyme or reason to it, there is no why in the Lager. It is impossible for them at the
time to understand, which is why the law of the camp was do not think . How can we begin to
fathom now the how s or why s? It doesn t make sense. Who wants to listen to a story that doesn t
make any sense and acknowledge that it could happen all over again?
Sometimes, we love to hear the story of a tragedy. For example, some of the most well liked
tragedies of all time include Gone with the Wind, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, many of
Shakespeare s plays, and a Streetcar Named Desire. These are not only stories though; they have
their sadness but throughout there is also hope and there are also morals, these are things to gain by
these stories. The story the Levi needs to share with us has no hope, it has no moral storyline that
we can learn from
Beauty In Pulp Fiction
Imagination What s in the Briefcase?
We happy? Yeah, we happy... What is the most beautiful thing you ve ever seen: a man/woman/place
or thing? Because beauty is subjective, everyone has a different opinion on what should or should
not define beauty. However, the one aspect that defines beauty may be in itself the most beautiful
creation known to mankind. Imagination has the ability to paint intricate works of art whilst on top
of Mount Everest watching the largest meteor shower of the century. Nothing is off limits.
Therefore, this ability to create gives anyone the opportunity to construct their own idea or opinion
about anything. For example, in the film Pulp Fiction, Quentin Tarantino creates a nonlinear plot by

It has no function other than to push the plot along. Therefore, the audience may transform the
MacGuffin to anything their imagination desires, thus allowing a more personal experience. With
this MacGuffin, the transitions between scenes seemed less jagged and although none of the scenes
line up chronologically, it serves as a plot catalyst. As a result, the audience may focus more on
what just happened and less on what the characters used to pass the plot along. As the audience
pieces the plot together they should finally notice that the order of the movie lies solely with the
MacGuffin. Through the third and final part of the movie, Vincent and Jules search for the briefcase.
As they find the apartment, they proceed to kill all but one informant. Once they retrieve the
briefcase they take the informant back to Marsellus; however, upon completion of their assignment,
Vincent accidently shoots the survivor. Therefore, Jules and Vincent are forced to find a safe house
to clean the car from all of the blood and chunks of
