Food Services And Menus At Clark Memorial Hospital
Food Services and Menus

Introduction
Clark Memorial Hospital, located in Jeffersonville, Indiana, supplies many jobs to many people. The
backbone of the hospital is the Food and Nutrition Department. Within this department there are
several jobs, including; cooks, dishwashers, managers, and catering associates. The duties of a
catering associate are:
To take food orders from patient.
To make the trays and
To take the trays back to the patient

There are more little jobs that the catering associates must perform. They must know all the diets, do
their cleaning jobs within the kitchen, and ensure that all their patients are happy. Like any working
system, some things can slip right through the cracks. The major problem within the ... Show more

Not only is the Food and Nutrition Department losing money from wasting food, it is also losing
money from using menus only one time and then throwing them away. Each menu costs 75 cents
and that money adds up pretty quickly. For example, if the hospital were to obtain 30 new patients a
day, that adds up to $22.50 per day. That amount of money doesn t seem like too much for a days
expenses, but after a month s time that adds up to $697.50. So, approximately, the hospital would
be spending around $8,212.50 per year on menus. That money could easily be utilized for a
different issue or concern within the department. Wasting money is a big problem, yet it is not the
only one; wasting the catering associate s time is another. Catering associates only have about two
minutes to spend in a patient s room. That may seem like plenty of time to get an order and move
on to the next patient. However, by the time the caterer describes the menu, diet, and the Always
Available Menu, by the time the patients decide what they want, it is time to for the catering
associate to move on. There is very little time to search for a menu and describe the process of
ordering. Therefore, this leads to confusion for patients. Of course, the confusion of patients will
always be a never ending battle because patients are clearly not in a very healthy state and might not
be thinking clearly. On the other hand, it is important to explain the menu anyway
Rhetorical Analysis On Malala Yousafzai
Oratorical Analysis
Malala Yousafzai is a young woman speaking as a young education advocate at the Youth
Takeover of the United Nations. This was her first speech since she had been shot in the head by
the Taliban in Pakistan on October 9th, 2012. The Taliban targeted her because she was blogging
about her own right, and the right of all women, to an education. Her purpose is to inform the
people of the denial of education to children around the world. She is also trying to persuade her
audiences to join her campaign in ensuring all children gain their right to education before the end
of 2015. Her primary audience was all of the delegates who attended the Youth Takeover of the
United Nations, and all the people fighting for education. Her ... Show more content on

Women Goodwill Ambassador. She is speaking about the problem of gender equality and unequal
pay for men and women doing the same work. Her purpose is to demonstrate to the audience that
the problem affects both men and women. She is fighting for women s rights, but also trying to
persuade men and boys to step up and help the women fight by joining her campaign, HeforShe.
Her primary audience is all the delegates and guests who listened to her speech at the United
Nations Headquarters in New York, and her secondary audience is men and boys all over the
world. She appeals to ethos when she speaks about her own personal experiences with gender
based assumptions from ages eight to eighteen in. She says her girlfriends dropped out of their
sport teams in order to not appear so masculine. She appeals to pathos when gives the statistics on
men s suicide in the UK in order to tell men that gender equality is their problem as well. She is
saying men also fear asking for help because they fear that they will appear un manly. Watson s
speech is also structured by Monroe s motivated sequence. She starts off her speech by speaking
about her campaign and talking about how her experiences at different ages caused her to become a
feminist in order to get the audience s attention. She then tells the men and boys that gender equality
is their issue too. This causes them to understand the need for change. She then formally invites them

Pope Urban Viii By Gian Lorenzo Bernini
Furthermore, the Triton Fountain was specially made for Pope Urban VIII Barberini by Gian
Lorenzo Bernini. The fountain is placed at the center of the piazza; the fountain represents the God
of Sea with anthropomorphic body and huge fish tail, kneeling on an open shell supported by the
tails of four dolphins. The dolphins, leaning towards each of the four cardinal directions, open their
mouths to swallow the water of the surrounding pool, telling us that they drink up all the waters of
the world. The fins of the dolphins clutch the crown of Urban VIII, with papal tiara, keys of St.
Peter, and Barberinibees. Triton as the subject of this fountain is a very interesting choice. According
to many historical sources, Pope Urban VIIIwas a very talented poet, and he was very recognized for
his pursuits in this field, and Triton was someone who achieved a sacred unity with nature and
literature. And as we can see from the monument, the Triton was an appropriate public monument to
PopeUrban s distinguished literary accomplishments. On the other hand, this explanation of the
connection between Triton and Pope Urban is not effective, and unquestionably doesn t give us full
information. American art historian John Beldon Scott has established that Urban was suspicious of
pagan imagery for fear it might lead the faithful astray. This suggests that the Triton Fountain may
imply to something more significant than just the simple literary symbol. Also, it is important to
mention that at
Sandra Cisneros My Name
My Name by Sandra Cisneros is a short excerpt from her book The House on Mango Street
(1984). In this excerpt, Cisneros narrator is a girl named Esperanza, who is telling us that her
name reminds her of a lot of negatives things, including who she inherited it from. Esperanza is
trying to convince us that her name is a terrible name, which is built up of negativity and bad
history. She state that she was named after her great grandmother, who was born in the Chinese
year of the horse, which they have in common, and is well known for her wild customs which lead
to her feeling sad and lonely all her life. Esperanza specifies that her name sound beautiful among
Spanish speakers, but to non Spanish speakers her name is pronoun funny as if the syllables were
made out of tin and hurt the roof of your mouth she says. She indicated that she would like to
baptize herself under a new... Show more content on [Link] ...
The main idea of My Name was to specify that the narrator name was a huge burden on her, which
she does not seem to like or want to be defined by. The text tells us that the effect of words can be
a burden on individual, which leaves the lasting effect of negativity and drought. Sandra Cisneros
purpose on writing My Name was to indicate how big of an impact a person s name can have on
their reflection of the who they are and who they are bound to be, in others words a name is more
than a word given to you the people who named you. This brings up issues mainly identity and
sense of reassurance. The background of this excerpt is from the book The House on Mango Street
(1984) by Sandra Cisneros. The story is organized in short paragraphs, which made the story much
more effective by keeping it simple, but providing as much as information regarding identity, culture,
and doubt. The tone of this story in very negative, because the narrator Esperanza is
The Impact Of Modern Campaign Finance Laws On America
Campaign Finance
Introduction:
In 2011, two sociologists named Erik Olin Wright and Joel Rogers identified five core American
values: freedom, prosperity, efficiency, fairness, and democracy (Wright and Rogers). America s
numerous ideals inevitably cause these values to come into conflict each other. Such conflict
characterizes the debate over the implications of modern campaign finance laws in America. The
Supreme Court s ruling in Citizen s United v. FEC in 2010 undid former restrictions placed on how
money can be spent on federal political campaigns. Prior restrictions like the Federal Election
Campaign Act of 1971 and its amendments in 1974, placed limitations on political donations by
Political Action Committees (PACs), political parties, and even individuals. Originally these
restrictions were put in place to deter corruption that could undermine the democracy inherent in US
values and elections. The Supreme Court s ruling in 2010 revolutionized the scene by declaring that
independent expenditures are protected by the first amendment to the US Constitution. They further
asserted that for all intents and purposes corporations are legally viewed synonymous with people in
terms of political spending. The Supreme Court s ruling emphasized equality and freedom, but at
what cost? Critics, like Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, suggest at the cost of democracy, and
ultimately corporate interests diminishing freedom in the long run. As a result of this case, more
money is now
Chapter 9 Blum And Harvey Essay
Question: In Chapter 9, Blum and Harvey discuss the many competing versions of Christ that all
exist at the same time in the United States. How do these themes parallel to the representations of
Jesus in comedy?
Answer: One of the popular images of Jesus in modern times is his depiction as a Middle Eastern
man, especially noticeable after the attacks on September 11, 2001. With the increasing amounts of
Middle Eastern people on television, believers had to reconcile these images with their idea of Jesus
from that same region. As seen in Paul Mooney s stand up routine, he joked about the fear of
terrorism and suggested that Osama Bin Laden probably looked like Jesus. Another trend in
depictions of Jesus was the sexualization of his body, creating
The Negative Effects of Imperialism in Nigeria (it s...
Nigeria is a country with abundant resources and the potential to be a very powerful nation, but it is
hampered by many problems. These problems are caused by Nigeria s colonization by England.
Because of this intrusion on their way of life, their future was altered dramatically. The nation of
Nigeria as a whole has suffered greatly as a country because of this colonization, its problem is
rooted in the way it was colonized and ruled.

The background of the situation is essential to understand its full impact From the way Nigeria was
colonized, it was clear from the start that it would bode ill for the future inhabitants of Nigeria.
Beginning in the 19th century, the British started to make their presence felt along the coast. In earlier

Instead of focusing on diversifying, the leaders of the country focus on gaining power and standing
in the government. Nigeria s most daunting challenge lies in overcoming the severe divisions
among its competing religious and ethnic groups . Moreover, once they gain it, their problems do
not end, since they must look over their back, never knowing how long they will hold on to the little
power they have. Meanwhile, the common person suffers, as he is neglected by his government and
must survive on his own. The standard of living declined even further than before and external
debts increased. This neglect of the common man bodes ill for the government, as it is the
common man who votes in the polls. However, the vote does very little, since corruption is rampant
in Nigeria.

Two futures for Africa are possible one with a democratic and stable Nigeria, and one with a Nigeria
stricken by autocratic rule, corruption, and intermittent coups. An entire continent awaits the result
of the Nigerian experiment with democracy. Nigeria has the resources and can provide leadership to
foster greater regional and international cooperation, leadership that many of Nigeria s neighbors
need. A successful Nigerian democracy would provide hope for many of Africa s other burgeoning
democracies.

The biggest problem with the government of Nigeria in regard to its malpractice towards the people
is the unchecked corruption. A

Compare And Contrast William Wallace Vs Braveheart
Braveheart vs. William Wallace

The movie Braveheart, directed by Mel Gibson and released in 1995, is an epic tale about a
Scottish hero named William Wallace. The movie is exceptionally accurate when compared with
other historical movies. However, changes have been made to make the film more entertaining and
romantic. Despite some minor historical glitches, Braveheart is wonderfully composed and really
gives the viewer a good idea of what living in Scotland in the 13th 14th centuries would have been
like.
Braveheart starts out with a young William Wallace whose father, a Scottish patriot, is killed by the
English. He comes back to the village of his birth when he is much older. There, he meets Murron
who he knew from his childhood. ... Show more content on [Link] ...
Those actors which weren t already fluent in Gaelic would have had to learn the translation in an
effort to have performed with emotion and feeling. It s hard to act out words that have no meaning
to the actor. Another downfall to a film almost entirely in Gaelic was its audience. The audience
for this production was for the most part English speaking. This fact alone would have called for
subtitles. Not only are subtitles more expensive for the producer, they also make the picture less
enjoyable for its patrons (Braveheart, commentary). This inaccuracy of language can, however be
forgiven. The language was changed for one simple reason, to make the movie more suitable for its
viewers.
