Animal Cruelty Is A Crime Against Humanity
In order to constitute animal cruelty as a Crime Against Humanity we must prove that society is
ignoring the violence towards them despite the research evidence, the government sanctions mass
killings of them, and that this type of violence affects humans on a large scale (Plant, Schaik,
Gullone, Flynn 2016). Although dispositional factors such as empathy and aggression may influence
animal cruelty, we must look at the environmental factors that lead to the negative effects from a
macro level perspective. In this analysis, I will review whether exposure to animal cruelty correlates
with future maladaptive behaviors and the damaging effects it may have when perpetrated at a large
scale.
Part A: Exposure To Animal Cruelty And Its Negative... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This proposes the idea of how actions of animal maltreatment are similar to actions of child or
domestic violence. The second reason stated in the book Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, and
Animal Abuse: Linking the Circles of Compassion for Prevention and Intervention, is that
cowardly acts of aggression against vulnerable members of the family are matters of power and
control. The victims can be of any size, age, gender, or species, it is simply a matter of the
opportunity that presents itself (Ascione Arkow 1999). Lastly, the book Child Abuse, Domestic
Violence, and Animal Abuse: Linking the Circles of Compassion for Prevention and Intervention,
states that any act of aggression or violence within the entire family can put the members of that
family at risk. The dangers of this violence may also reach out as far as the community and its
children (Ascione Arkow 1999).
An example of animal exploitation spilling over to other forms of violence is the relationship
between animal violence and intimate partner violence. In a study done in April 2007, researchers
asked both battered and non battered women to report whether their partner had any history of
abusing their pets at home. The women living in the domestic violence shelter were nearly 11 times
more likely to report that their partner had hurt or killed pets than the group of non battered women
(Ascione, Weber, Thompson, Heath, Maruyama 2016). They also found that for the group of battered
In A Room With A View By E. M Forster
In a Room with a View, by E.M Forster, there are many contrasting settings where the story takes
place. Every different place can be associated with different feelings, thoughts, and developments.
One of the more obvious setting contrasts are Florence and Summer Street. Florence represents
things like passion and growth while Summer Street has more of a discontented feeling. The story
begins in Florence Italy where the main characterLucy is vacationing. Lucy is an attractive young
girl who is very skilled with the piano but inexperienced in the world. Although not much is said
about Lucy s younger years she seems to be a reserved woman. In her little time in Florence, Lucy
experienced an abundance of things that would prove to aid her in
Bien Pretty Analysis
Woman Hollering Creek, by Sandra Cisneros gives a vivid and imaginative view into the
Hispanic culture. Cisneros expertly weaves ideas and truths of the world, from her insight on
economics, religion, and gender. For example, she depicts the lives of mistresses and how their
lives affected themselves and others. Cisneros s conclusion about these women is definitely
negative in tone she pities the women in these positions and wishes to reach out to them. Proof of
this concept comes from Cisneros s most notable contribution to the literary and social worlds
comes in the form of one of her short stories, Bien Pretty , which delves into the sad realty and
hope filled possibilities for women. Analyzing these facets of Cisneros work better informs and
challenges readers to rise above the stereotypes of society. To begin, throughout Cisneros s work
Hispanic womanhave been depicted as mistresses to men. In other words, these women because of
the pressures and stereotypes of the culture are somewhat forced into this role of being completely
helpless to men. In Bien Pretty this idea is no exception, the main protagonist Lupe doesn t so much
embody a mistress rather she is very dependent on the loveand care of a man. Hispanic women are
brought up to marry and have children; Lupe has been trained to some extent to wantto be taken care
of. This reality of dependency goes further when Lupe tells readers of love in Spanish. She longs
for the sweet Spanish utterances of a man in her ear and his warm embrace, to make love in
Spanish in a manner as intricate and devout as la Alhambra. To have a lover sigh mi vida, mi
preciosa, mi Chiquita, and whisper things in that language crooned to babies, that language
muttered by grandmothers, those words that smelled like your house, like flour tortillas, and the
inside of your daddy s hat, like everyone talking in the kitchen at the same time, or sleeping with
the windows open. In this manner, whenever Lupe hears these words from men she cant helps but
fall for them. However, this idea of what loves is really, just isn t. Cisneros s shows readers how
these woman s almost deceive themselves into a extremely dependent desire for companionship.
Although hope is not lost,
Schindlers List Essay
Question: Schindler s List is no less a Jewish story or a German story than it is a human story.
And its subject matter applies to every generation. [Stephen Spielberg] Discuss. The film
Schindler s List , directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the novel Schindler s Ark, by Thomas
Keneally, gives us an insight into the corruption and destructive capabilities of humans. This film
portrays many themes, all of which are evoked due to the factual historical event of the Jewish
Holocaust which occurred in Germany during WWII. The exploration of the themes of hope, use
and misuse of power, the nature of evil and courage makes this film prominent over others.
Spielberg s purpose in making this film was to raise awareness of the... Show more content on

We begin to define the line between good and evil and the way in which it can corrupt human
beings. The message portrayed that evil and the misuse of power is an ongoing matter, one in
which could affect anyone and is partially an involuntary act the evil animalistic behaviour
becomes engraved into minds; like Goeth. Goeth can also be considered to be Schindler s foil, as
they can parallel one another in many ways. At the beginning of the film, this parallel is shown
through the use of mirrors and reflections, however, as the film progresses along with the
character transformations, they become opposites. Like Schindler, Goeth is a practical man, not
a thinker, but also fancies himself as someone of great importance; he also has a weakness for
liquor. However, what defined the two as good and evil was that, unlike Schindler, Goeth was a
cruel man who was physically abusive. He uses his power to construct a road paved with Jewish
headstones, symbolising the destruction of the Jewish race. Amon seems to be unsatisfied with
merely wiping out existing Jews, so by planning the road he denies acknowledgement of many
Jews final resting places. Despite his intense hatred for Jews, he is intoxicated by his Jewish maid,
Helen Hirsch. Unable to touch Helen in love, his only acceptable option is to lash out at her with a
horrific display of violence. I would like so much to reach out and touch you in your loneliness.... Is

The Joy Luck Club Cultural Analysis
The values and cultures that individuals are exposed to throughout their lives, carve them into who
they are destined to be. They teach consistency and order over time and allow individuals to see the
world through a different lens. In the novel The Joy Luck Club, by Amy Tan, the author uses the
importance of heritage, articulated through her deliberate language and word choice, to present the
idea that values are formed through customs and could be tied to a hopeful future. This is shown in
the relationships between respective immigrant mothers and Americanized daughters: Suyuan and
Jing Mei Wu, Lindo and Waverly Jong, An Mei and Rose Hsu Jordan, Ying Ying and Lena St. Clair.

The relationships between the mothers and daughters all derive from the differences between
moral values; the daughters being laced with American ideals, and the mothers being of strict
Asian descent. One of the daughters, Rose Hsu Jordan, struggles with inferiority in her marriage
and realizes the significant problems in the relationship with her husband. She was reliant,
subservient and never took charge. Ted, her husband, sends her way the papers that would soon
end their marriage and Rose shuts down her emotions falter and her ambitions subside. She is
unaware of the decision she should consider and whether she should sign the papers that would
change her life, but Rose soon realizes the toxicity of her marriage. Lately I have been feeling
hulihudu. And everything around me seemed to be heimongmong. I suppose the closest in
meaning would be confused and dark fog . Maybe they can t be easily translated because they
refer to a sensation that only Chinese people have, as if you were falling headfirst through Old
Mr. Chou s... door, then trying to find your way back... listening for voices to tell you which way
to go (Tan 210). Rose considers that the feeling she has is unlike one that is American. She
realizes that her confusion is something that is helping her to claw her way out of the dream she
kept tumbling into the one with Mr. Chou. She recognizes that the religious and cultural beliefs she
possesses is one that allows her to pursue a hopeful recollection of her life, so she can fix her
future, with or without the previous dependency she placed on her husband. She chooses the path of
self reliance to have an outlook on life based on her own efforts, not her husband s. This accentuates
the idea that hope is engrained in the beliefs that the characters hold because of their culture.
Moreover, this idea is also portrayed in the

A Report On The Coca Cola Company
cultural factors can influence the way a product is viewed by the consumer. If the government
were to release a report regarding one of PepsiCo s products then the company might see a decline
in sales. Environmental factors include issues regarding the environment and what the company
does to protect it. PepsiCo believes that water is a basic human right and should be readily
available to any consumer. Overall PepsiCo does a great job in assessing all of the general
environment factors in order to sustain a positive view in the consumer s eyes.
Industry Environment
Rivalry: Fierce There are many competitors in the food and beverage industry in such that it can be
classified as a fragmented industry. The Coca Cola Company is one of PepsiCo s largest competitors
on the beverage side. The companies compete for the highest profits and market share. The constant
battle between these two companies often benefits the consumers with sales and promotions, new
products and better quality. There are numerous generic brand sodas that are offered to compete with
the brand names that PepsiCo offers. The rivalry intensifies due to number of substitute products that
are offered. The pressure in the industry is fierce due to the large number of competitors.
Buyer Power: Strong Consumers have an abundance of bargaining power in an industry that is
riddled with competitors. The cost of the product is one of the largest concerns for consumers. If a
consumer is not willing to pay
Differences In The Movie Fahrenheit 451
There are many differences between Fahrenheit 451 movie directed by François Truffaut and the
book by Ray Bradbury. In the movie, the sound effects and music add suspense and curiosity such
as when the fire truck is moving there is a suspenseful music that makes the viewer wonder where
the fire truck is heading. Guy Montag stayed mostly the same, with a few minor differences. The
general idea that Firemen set fires to books stayed the same too. Some noticeable differences are
the changes that occurred to Clarisse. The major character differences take place with Clarisse, as
well as partially Guy Montag. To start, Clarisse and Mrs. Montag are portrayed by the same actress,
confusing the viewer unaware of which character the actress was portraying.
Example Of And Influence Of A Non-English Language
Example of and influence of a non English language (88)
A language learning book at the library (41.347702, 72.029741)
The library contains many informative books of all genres. According to the librarian I spoke to,
there has been an increase in the popularity of the learning a foreign language literature.
Multilingualism is on the rise in the United States due to the rapid increase in diversity of language
and culture. The assistance of tutors and literature from the library can make the experience of
learning a new language easier and more pleasant. The non English language, in written form, may
also be found in restaurants and grocery stores.
Example of a sacred place (146)
Church across the street (41.384203, 72.025248)
I live in a historic district with a momentous fire station and a sacred church. Both of these facilities
function daily and contribute to the primitiveness of the town. The church, Grace Baptist, closed for
a couple of years for renovations and then reopened with the name of Wellspring Bible Fellowship.
The religion practiced in the church is Christianity, and the location history and sacredness draws
individuals to this particular church. When my family moved into the house across the street from
the church, we received a history lesson from the previous owners as to why the area is historic:
George Washington passed through the main street of Groton (the street I live on used to be the
main street) on his way to New London, CT for a conference.
