Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis
Pre implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is a procedure couples use to test the normality of
their offspring s genes. This procedure is used for couples that have a known risk of passing on a
genetic abnormality to their offspring. PGD is used all around the world to help couples become
pregnant with healthy babies that aren t diagnosed with a genetic disease passed down from them.
PGD is used to select an embryo that isn t affected by a genetic disease such as cystic fibrosis. PGD
is available to test for single genedisorders, translocations, inversions, chromosomal, aneuploidy or
X linked disorders. Pre implantation Genetic Diagnosis is a procedure used prior to implantation to
help identify genetic defects within embryos. This serves to prevent certain genetic diseases or
disorders from being passed on to the child. The embryos used in PGD are usually created during
the process of in vitro fertilisation(IVF). When used to screen for a specific genetic disease, its main
advantage is that it avoids selective pregnancytermination as the... Show more content on

Those eggs are then fertilised using the male partner s sperm. The resulting embryos are cultured in
the laboratory.
At day 3 of the embryo development, a small hole is made on the outside shell of the embryo (the
zona pellucida) with a delicate laser beam. On day 5/6, an embryo biopsy is performed. By this
time, the embryo should have reached the blastocyst stage which consists of an inner cell mass
(forms the foetus) and trophectoderm cells (forms the placenta). The trophectoderm cells should
have herniated through the hole made in the outer shell of the embryo on day 3 in which these cells
(approximately five cells) are collected for analysis.

The biopsied cells are transferred to a small tube for genetic testing. Due to the time taken to perform
the genetic testing, the embryos must be frozen after the
What Is Data Analytics The Future Of Audit Engagements
Data Analytics the future of Audit Engagements
Data analytics, according to the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB), is
defined as the science and art of discovering and analyzing patterns, deviations and inconsistencies,
and extracting other useful information in the data underlying or related to the subject matter of an
audit through analysis, modelling and visualization for the purpose of planning and performing the
audit (Alawadhi et al., 2015). Under this definition, the overall goal of data analytics is to provide
structure and organization to data to enable effective and efficient decision making. Auditor data
analytics is about enhancing audit quality. A high quality, focused and effective audit is... Show more

The objective of any audit is to acquire sufficient and appropriate audit evidence to support an
opinion. Sufficient evidence refers to the quantity of evidence, while appropriate evidence refers to
the quality of the evidence. In developing an audit opinion an auditor must accumulate both
sufficient and appropriate evidence, however, the evolution of the risk based audit approach has
created obstacles in acquiring sufficient and appropriate audit evidence. Therefore, the audit process
must adapt to these technological changes, in order for the profession to maintain its credibility as
gate keepers. Data analytics is a technological tool that can assist auditor s in combating the
limitations mentioned above. One important advantage is the ability of data analytics to provide
more persuasive audit evidence to enhance audit quality. Data analytics can be applied at different
stages of an audit, beginning with risk assessment procedures, test of controls, journal entry testing,
and even substantive testing. Employing data analytic techniques allows audit teams to perform
analyses on an entire population of transactions, rather than physically vouching a limited number of
samples, which minimizes sampling risk in an audit engagement. Additionally, data analytics can
help
Psychological Ownership Paper
In psychology, ownership is the feeling that something is yours. People can feel ownership about a
variety of things, material and immaterial in nature. Is there a way organizations can benefit from
higher employee engagement, increased financial performance and lower turnover, simply by
increasing feelings of ownership? In mid 1970s, the USA carried out the Employee Stock Ownership
Plans. The thought behind this project was that if employees held some shares of the company, it
would enhance their sense of responsibility toward the enterprise and activate their positive attitude
toward the work. Interestingly, researchers found that there were no significant differences in
organizational performance between an enterprise which adopted... Show more content on

Pierce, Kostova and Dirks (2001) define it: psychological ownership is that state where an individual
feels as though the target of the ownership, or a piece of that target is theirs For example, this
company is MINE . However, Pierce and Jussila (2010) note that mine can also be ours , meaning the
object has a connection with the self while simultaneously having a connection to another individual
or group.

Although it is important to note that most of the empirical work on psychological ownership has
focused exclusively upon psychological ownership over one s job or organization. Van Dyne and
Pierce (2004) took it one step further, and called for additional research to approach and examine
feelings of ownership toward specific targets within organizations. They examined various aspects
of the job or organization, such as specific job roles, designated workspaces, important projects,
new ideas and so on. This is because these objects may be more concrete or personal and thus foster
stronger feelings of ownership than more complex, shared targets such as the organization as a whole.

According to Jussila, Tarkiainen, Sarstedt and Hair (2015) psychological ownership is both
cognitive and affective. In other words, it reflects the employees awareness, thoughts, and beliefs
regarding the object of possession and the personal
Essay about What Really Happened During the First...
There can be countless records of the same event, and while many times each record is different,
there are also incidents in which one needs to know every record to piece together what really
happened. The story of the first Thanksgiving takes place in 1621, and is generally known as a
meal that was shared between the Pilgrims and the Indians. For the Pilgrims, this was a harvest
festival, much like one they would have had in England. For the Indians, it was a show of
hospitality from the Pilgrims, similar to what they would expect from visiting another Indian tribe.
With being told only that, one can already see that there are already two very different histories of
the same event recorded. Of greater interest, perhaps, are the different... Show more content on

The History Channel s Desperate Crossing tells the story of the Pilgrims, their journey to
Plymouth, their horrible first year, and finally, the first Thanksgiving. Desperate Crossing follows
the accounts of both Winslow and Bradford fairly well, but begins to deviate slightly. They show
that the Pilgrims and Indians played games, drank, and raced, and competed together, some of
which are only vaguely and briefly alluded to by Winslow, and never by Bradford. The History
Channel also shows a much more tense situation than the impression given from Bradford and
Winslow. According to the History Channel, everything from Massasoit showing up with his ninety
some men and the Pilgrims firing their arms is all a display of strength from both sides.

The History Channel obviously takes some liberties in their presentation of history. Winslow and
Bradford do not mention anything about the clothing worn, if there was any drinking involved, if
there was silverware, where the feasts were held, and many other seemingly trivial details.
Desperate Crossing makes some assumptions on what took place in 1621, but it does quote both
Winslow and Bradford word for word. While we re shown a picture that may or may not actually
represent what took place at the first Thanksgiving, at the very least, we re given Winslow s and
Bradford s descriptions of it. The History Channel used what was already known from the eye
witness accounts combined with what
Persuasive Research Paper
Richard Branson once said, Every risk is worth taking as long as it s for a good cause, and
contributes to a good life. Drinking alcohol is a risk itself, let alone drinking alcohol as a
teenager. Drinking can cause interferences with the brain s communication pathways,
cardiomyopathy, high blood pressure, pancreatitis, steatosis, puts you at risk for certain cancers,
and weakens your immune system. These are just a portion of what drinking can do to you. As a
teenager your brain and body are still developing, drinking at an early age can stunt your
development. Weed has effects of major effects on your emotional well being, and you don t
know whether they will be negative or positive effects, smoking weed puts you at risk for lung
and respiratory problems. Smoking weed and drinking alcohol are risks teenagers our age our
taking in order to release stress or they believe it will help them have a good time. Neither drinking
nor smoking are risks that contribute to a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Personally, I do not support adult drinking and smoking. For adults though, I believe having a
drink once and a while is okay, it s the heavy drinking I do not support. For teens though, I think
that the use of these drugs is preposterous. In no way, is the use of these substances contributing to
a better life for yourself, and the people you love. Now as I myself do not drink or smoke, I don t
understand why teenagers take in these substances. But from what I can conclude of seeing
endless snapchat stories of people drinking and smoking is the belief that to have a good time or
party with people is to have alcohol, smoke weed, and vape. Some people may feel the need to
escape reality, and want to feel nothing besides the freedom of your body while under the
influence. For example, if some people have a rough home life, they may resort to these forms of
what some call stress relief, to feel better about the reality of their
Robert Frost s Poetry
In three words I can sum up everything I ve learned about life: it goes on (Robert Frost). March,
1874. The United States of America continues to recover from the effects of the Civil War. The
Reconstruction Era is in full swing and segregation is at a new high point. The Chinese were being
discriminated throughout California throughout the 1870s. In 1882, due to the high rate of Chinese
immigrants, the Chinese Exclusion Act was passed by Congress. This act meant that no Chinese
immigrant could enter the United States for a period of ten years. At the beginning of the new
century, the first World War began. As a result of World War One, art began to evolve. Publishers

Frost s ability to appeal to the common man through complex ideas and unique writing style has
changed American poetry from an old writing style to a new, modern style. With not only making
himself a household name through his many popular works, he also has been awarded four Pulitzer
Prize awards for his poetic books. In schools throughout the United States, Robert Frost s poems are
being read and examined today. In conclusion, it is clear that his poems will forever have a lasting

Summary Of Nzinga Mbemba s Letters To The King
During the 15th century, Christopher Columbus along with several of his men went in search of
finding a direct water route (Europe to Asia). Instead, Columbus and his men stumbled upon the
Americas, thus marking the beginning of European intervention and globalization. While this
intervention brought together several diverse cultures, the Europeans dominating nature encouraged
several conflicts between countries. Nzinga Mbemba, a 16th century ruler of the Kingdom of
Kongo, urged the King of Portugal to respect their alliance and to exert control onto his subjects as
expressed in his writing Letters to the King of Portugal (1562). While in the work Commentary on
Foreigners (ca. 1420) He Ao, a Ming official, suggested that Europeshould be put under strict
government control. Letters to the King of Portugal (1562) opened with Mbemba urgently
requesting the King of Portugal to exert control onto his subjects and to respect their existing
alliance. Mbemba initially idealized the lifestyle and religion of the Portuguese people as it was
something that bonded the two countries together in the first place. However, the people of Portugal
soon developed a trade center and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

country. When they arrived armed with cannons and weapons, Ao saw that the merchants had no

Arnold Shwarzenegger Research Paper
Abstract
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a socialized charismatic leader who paints a strong vision for the future
of California and has become a model leader for the 21st century. Quite simply he has been a leader
in every field he has entered. Schwarzenegger displays several of the competencies required for
leadership. Schwarzenegger s most important foundation competency is the change competency.
Governor Schwarzenegger recognized global warming was real and something needed to be done.
Schwarzenegger realized by being the first state to embrace a green economy and becoming the
leader in green technologies, it will have an immediate impact on the environment. But more
important to a fiscal conservative such as Schwarzenegger, it will build a ... Show more content on

Joe Weider provided that blue print. As a young body builder, Schwarzenegger was mentored by
body building marketing guru Joe Weider. Weider taught Schwarzenegger valuable lessons on how
to change public opinion on body building and make fitness mainstream.
Weider used Schwarzenegger to make body building sexy (Montana 2008). To do this he had to
change the image of the bodybuilder (much like Schwarzenegger is attempting to change the image
of the environmentalist). The current image of the body builder was one of vanity, narcissism, all
brawn and no brain. Weider used Schwarzenegger to obliterate those stereotypes. The Current
impressions of the environmentalist is one of a wimpy tree hugger, Arnold would use his experience
in transforming body building to obliterate those stereotypes too.
To Change the image of body building Weider backed the documentary Pumping Iron, staring
Schwarzenegger. This showed body building in a new light. The moronic muscle head image was
replaced by the charismatic Schwarzenegger, who was witty intelligent, and had a magnetic
personality. (Schwarzenegger is attempting to use his image as a manly man to change the image of
the environmentalist from a girlie man to a macho man). Schwarzenegger symbolized force,
discipline focus and self improvement. (Montana 2008).
The image of body building and fitness was changed. After handling the people aspect of change,
Weider used Schwarzenegger s new image to change the strategy of
Essay on Guns in the Cockpit
Guns in the Cockpit

On the morning of September 11, 2001, four airplanes were hijacked and two of them, brought the
collapse of the World Trade Center towers in New York City. As a result of these attacks on the
United States, airports have come to the realization that the only way to prevent another hijacking is
by strengthening the security on aircrafts through the cockpit. In order to secure the cockpit and
ensure the safety of the passengers on board, guns were introduced as a possible solution in the event
of an emergency situation like those that took place in September of 2001.

The Transportation Security Administration head John Magaw, announced the administrations
position that they are against guns in cockpits and a pilot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the craft was in the air, the terrorists took the initiative and stormed into the cockpit and
took over the controls, turning the aircraft into a guided missile (CBS 1). Increasing security
immediately became an important aspect of airports shortly there after. Adequate security
ensures the safety of the people in the air and citizens on the ground below. It is expected by
passengers, that they are boarding a craft that will land safely at their intended destination. An
aircraft should be a safe place for everyone and even though every person that enters the airport
goes through the required security checkpoints, there is a small fraction of error. Someone will
get by with a potential weapon and board the plane along with it; therefore, the captains should
have some form of a rear view mirror (Press 2). One of the many proposals made since the attacks
is installing video cameras in the cabin to monitor passenger activity for any possible terrorist
actions. A pilot should be aware of what is happening to the plane and the passengers on board at all
times.

In a situation where someone is trying to hijack an airplane, there are three factors needed to be
assessed. Does the terrorist have a weapon, are they attacking alone, and is he or she a trained
fighter in the case of a Federal Air Marshal interfering (APSA 2)? In the incident of the World Trade
Center attacks, the
