Christian Philosophy Of Christian Theology
From childhood we observe, study, and even absorb our surroundings. These observations cultivate
the person we become and educates us on how to approach life situations independently.
Independence is the self governing state of freedom to think and act as we desire. How we
approach life events can be viewed from a philosophical and/or a theological perspective. This essay
will compare different approaches in Christian theologyto philosophy to see which study was more
influential in our individual development. Christian theology is the study of Christian beliefs. There
are four sources for this study including scripture, tradition, reasoning and experience. Scriptures are
sacred writings that document historical events pertaining to Christianity. The Bibleis the central
location for the scriptures. Christians consider the Bible their source of truth and the reference
material needed to handle all life events as a Christian should. There are various definitions
regarding tradition however; one in particular lends itself best to Christian theology. Tradition is the
continued sharing of stories, customs, or values to future generations by written or oral means.
Tradition is passed down from generation to generation but, it is in vain without application.
Tradition provides a sense of stability for Christian theology however it also can promote spiritual
growth if allowed. Fiorenza (1984), noted that modern hermeneutics is being used to examine the
source of Christian
The Evolution of American Literature
The Evolution of American Literature
Early American literature may be said to begin with the Colonial period. John Smith and John
Winthrop are two examples of the types of writing at this period: the former kept a romantic journal
of his adventures in the New World; the latter kept a journal (or history) of life in New England,
where religious matters were of utmost importance. The Puritans had come seeking a life free from
religious persecution (which, they ironically brought with them however, as their descendent
Nathaniel Hawthorne would show in The Scarlet Letter).
Religious topics continued to dominate early American literature in the 18th century, for example, in
the works of Jonathan Edwards and Cotton Mather. Their strict Calvinistic, Puritanical views gave
their writings a fire and brimstone type of style a inflammatory rhetoric meant to rouse religious
fervor (Baym 103). Both Hawthorne and Herman Melville (another later generation New
Englander) would focus some of their most important works of literature on their Calvinist roots. In
contrast to these fiery preachers, however, were the mid 17th century poems of Anne Bradstreet, the
first published female New England poet. Her poems are dominated by a steady calm and loving
confidence in Providence and are much sweeter in tone.
The Romantic period developed in America in the 19th century, with the Gothic/Romantic stories of
Edgar Allan Poe and the quasi religious, transcendentalist poetry of Ralph Waldo

Social Medi A False Ideal For Body Image
In the modern world of today, social media has become apart of the average person s life. Scrolling
through countless images of people with perfect lives. It creates jealousy and depression. This needs
to stop. While some believe that social media is a fun way to express yourself, it actually portrays a
false image of life because these profiles only show the good in life and often look perfect every day.
While scrolling through these profiles, all one would see is the good. Never are the negatives or bad
hair days shared. This makes your own bad days feel worse. Often people also feel the need to take
perfect pictures or go out and do things for social media. You feel like you don t have this perfect
life that you so often see. Now these aren t just negative effects. These effects of social media
actually cause serious side effects like depression. That s just one of the reasons social media isn t

Before the days of social media, magazines and photoshopped models were often the sources of an
unhealthy image. Now with YouTube and Instagram we see friends and average people who look
perfect everyday. It s not just magazines and models. Now even average people are the source for
an unhealthy image. Everyday people now appear to be supermodels. These average people are
hard to look up to when often they are not being who they truly are. These are not healthy examples
for anyone. When all you see is perfection, it has a serious negative
Reflection Paper On The Teaching Of Santa
Things aren t always black and white and the decisions we make as parents are often a result of
our own heartaches and pains. Which is why to answer the question as to why we did, what we did,
concerning the teaching of Santa comes in the form of a story for me.
For me, as a parent, my goal was for my children to know the truth and to live a life of truth. I
wanted my kids to love Jesus more than life itself. I wanted them to know and experience the life
in Christ I had come to know as teenager in a miserable spot. I knew the King of Kings and Lord of
Lord and wanted that to be the center of our home. I knew if they knew the truth, the truth would set
them free.
When I was little I had a brother and a sister and real parents. My real parents taught me about Santa
Claus. The night before Christmas we put out a glass of milk and a plate of cookies. Christmas
morning the milk was partially gone and all the cookies were gone except a little moon shaped
sliver, proof that Santa had come and that he was real and of course, then there were presents
wrapped under the Christmas tree.
There was so much excitement that one Christmas Eve at bedtime I couldn t settle down. I could see
down the hall right into our living room. Switching places with my little brother, who slept at the
opposite end of the bunk bed, was the remedy for my restlessness and I quickly fell asleep. The
next morning he told me he saw Santa Claus.. I asked what he looked like and how he got in. He
The Effect Of Fine Motor Skill ( Or Finger Dexterity )
Finger dexterity

Introduction
Fine motor skill (or finger dexterity) is the coordination of small muscle movements, usually
involving the synchronization of hands and fingers with the eyes. The complex levels of manual
dexterity that humans exhibit can be attributed to and demonstrated in tasks controlled by the
nervous system. Everyone uses their hands and fingers whether it be for professional uses or not
everyone is always trying to improve their finger dexterity (Muellbacher, 2009).
The motor cortex is the region of the cerebral cortex involved in the planning, control, and execution
of voluntary movements. The motor cortex also controls everything that has to do with finger
dexterity, and hand or arm movement and the nervous system. And it is very important to know this
because the term motor control will be used and it doesn t mean the motor control that is used more
often, the term is used to symbolize the brains motor cortex that controls all of the hand and finger
movement (Muellbacher, 2009).

There are three major parts to the motor cortex, the Primary Motor Cortex is the main contributor to
generating neural impulses that pass down to the spinal cord and control the execution of
movement; however, some of the other motor areas in the brain also play a role in this function. the
Premotor Cortex is responsible for some aspects of motor control, possibly including the preparation
for movement, the sensory guidance of movement, the spatial guidance of reaching,
Literary Elements Of James Joyce s Araby
Everything Is Not What It Seems to Be James Joyce s Araby is the story of a young boy who
battles his emotions of dealing with his first love. Childhood and immature love is what was
portrayed because all this young boy knew was that he loves this girl, but little did he know that
there was going to be disappointment. However, he had this infatuation that he would never get the
chance to talk to her nor express his feelings. Throughout this short storywe see a major change in
which the narrator s journey changes from an innocent loveto him coming to terms with a situation
that does not turn out the way he hopes it would. The story exemplifies several literary elements;
Two of which are symbolism and setting. It is through these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Yet another symbolic factor of the story is evident in the title; seeing that Araby is the place in
which the story ultimately takes place. Araby initially symbolizes hope for the narrator because
he sees Mangan s sister as the person who fulfills all his desires. Araby was his chance to escape
reality and hopefully fulfill all his wants and needs. He states that he remembers, with difficulty
why I had come. I went over to one of the stalls and examined porcelain vases and flowered tea sets
(page109), showing this young boy went to Araby with the hopes of getting something for the girl
that he loves because she could not make it. Implying that the narrator had hopes of getting a gift
for Mangan s sister and with that gift, he would be able to win over her heart. He had this illusion
that by doing this he would perhaps get a chance to talk to her. Araby, is a magical place for him
because he sees it as a place where all his dreams would come true. However, it soon becomes the
place that opens his eyes to the reality of life around him. With that being said, when this young
boy got to the bazaar he saw the building with the magical name written on it making it evident
that the narrator is in awe from what he sees. He feels as though he is finally where he is meant to
be in order to get a

Political, Cultural And Social Characteristics Of...
The political, cultural, and social improvements crosswise over Afro Eurasia were fundamentally
the same as the Americas and sub Saharan Africa. The greater part of the political and scholarly
pioneers needed to know the same inquiries with reference to who individuals were. There were
city states that had autonomous, self representing urban areas. A typical society in Nubia was
embraced by numerous Egyptian societies and political practices. Hellenism is the reception of
Greek culture that assumed control under Alexander s successors. There was a spread of
Hellenistic society that reached out from the Mediterranean basin to Southwest Asia. The effect
changed the whole culture that was not known to individuals. There was another type of dialect
that supplanted the old named the Koine Greek. Because of the change in embracing Hellenism,
individuals who lived in urban areas were no more thought to be called residents, be that as it
may, they were considered cosmopolitans. Plays were more normal and were affected by Greek
ways and must be meant to any environment they were being appeared in. Characters were spoken
to in a manner that anybody could allude to. The effect changed the way the political style was.

the blending of nomadic, Hellenistic, Persian, and Mesopotamian conventions there was another
religious union, Mahayana Buddhism. Buddhism, once spread, affected numerous. Buddhism

The Consequent Analysis Of The Minnesota Starvation...
In 1946, the Minnesota Starvation Experiment was directed by a doctor named Ancel Keys (Colin,
2017). The consequent analysis of the results from this experiment is what this paper is focused on.
For the experiment, 36 young, healthy men volunteered to be test subjects. They had initially
acquired eating disorders and were put into consideration with the purpose of checking on the
complications that came by as a result of the disorders associated with eating for this period (Colin,
2017). Initially, this particular experiment was a design that was meant to provide a better
understanding about human starvationas well as providing a guide on the efforts directed towards
giving relief to the famine that resulted during the ending of war. More so, for this experiment,
preliminary results happened to be used by the workers in the regions affected during the year
1946 and was characterized by a period of semi starvation (6 Months) (Arcelus, 2015). During this
period for the experiment, intake for the participants was drastically reduced to 1560 calories a day
with consequent reduction and strict control of physical activities. Consequently, the participants
experienced psychological problems that were very severe including depression, hypochondria, self
mutilation and even hysteria. In addition, there was evidence of eating disorders such as sexual
interest reduction, food preoccupation, food hording, poor concentration and as well as edema on
the extremities (Hofer, 2014).
Marxist Theory and Sport Essay
This essay will be an attempt to bring together the ideas from our class readings about the Marxist
sociological perspective as well as insight from other readings to further my understanding of
Marxism and its applications to sport. I will lay the groundwork for the theory then proceed with
how his theory is applied to accessibilityissues in sport, distribution of power in sport and
commercialization of sport.
Basics of Marxist Theory
The most widely used political and ideological system of thought is that of Karl Marx. Marxism is
a set of ideas trying to provide an explanation for human society. Although a little over a hundred
years old his theories and thoughts have led to coups, revolutions and new waves theories and

Improving one s own position within their social hierarchy in society is impossible for the
Proletariat: there is no social mobility, meritocracy (a system of social stratification based on
personal merit) and/or ladder system, as the class being born into will already determine the
position in the social hierarchy (Lecture Notes, 2005). The polarization between these two classes is
obvious and conflict will occur as a result of inequalities.
The Marxist s perspective is dominantly based on economic factors and over emphasizes them;
money is assumed to be everything within society and social life. In my view, something is clearly
missing here such as values and other social factors. Assuming that money is everything within
society leads to assumptions that those owning the productive and therefore economic resources are
given the power and use it to control those without to maintain their hegemony. Further factors that
can form and shape society like gender, ethnicity, age, culture etc. are not taken into consideration
and neglected. Hence the Marxist perspective focuses on having versus not having, earning versus
not earning and powerful versus powerless.
Marxism and Sport
Marxism tries to identify which sports are accessible to whom. A recent example: in contemporary
Why People Join Gangs
Gangs evolve over time. Initially, they were groups of people who were neglected by their
parents and needed a place where they would feel a sense of comfort and freedom denied by the
family. Today, they are mostly criminal groups who defy the law and engage in dangerous activities
such as theft, robbery, rape, and murder. They use crude weapons such as knives, guns to harm and
even kill their victims (Wyrick, 2006).
In the US, the crime rate has been growing at a high rate and they are estimated to be more than one
million, with the majority residing in both California and Los Angeles. Majority of the gang groups
are made up of the youth. Most young people join gangs in order to acquire companionship, love,
coupled with some forces that can be grouped into social, economic and cultural in nature as they
struggle to define themselves and their place ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although some of the factors such as poverty and social isolation may make one to join gangs, it
has been reported that even the youth from rich families also join gang. For that matter, it is not
suffice to conclude that gang is only associated with the poor in the society. In light of this, the
youth from rich families may join gang because of the need to secure protection from rival gangs.
When there are other gangs from the neighborhood, the youth may feel the need to join so as to
avoid threats and torments from other gangs. According to most reports, major reasons why a
youth may join a gang are varied. Some young people always feel that they do not receive proper
attention and care at home. They may not be receiving the family love or comfort (Weisel and

Depreciation Electric Cars
Another way to save money with electric vehicles is through the factor of depreciation. Now
every car gas or electric will go through depreciation one way or another, but electric vehicles have
a lower depreciation factor than gas power vehicles do. For most new gas powered cars they, will
lose approximately 20 percent of its value in the first year and 15 percent each year after that.
(Lander). While with the fully electric Tesla Model S has a value retention of 83%, 71% and 57%
respectively after one, two and three years much higher than any petroleum fueled car in its category.
according to the website Just Energy Solutions. The depreciation of electric cars a kept significantly
lower than gas cars due to the incentives that many states and countries are currently giving out....

Expenses that both gas and electric cars have are tires, brakes, and windshield wipes. However,
vehicle maintenance costs can rack up over the lifespan of a car, especially with ICEs (internal
combustion engines), engine maintenance can be very expensive, even more so with an older car.
Add in changing oil, engine coolant, and other miscellaneous fluids the money can add up very
quickly over time. As for electric vehicles, they don t have these expenses. Although, they are not
without expenses. For example, a new battery could cost a significant amount of money to replace,
but with these cars mostly being very new and under warranty this would not be an issue the
owner would have to worry about paying for. Electric cars, even with the proposed risk of replacing
a battery, are still significantly more cost effective over the long run than gas powered
