It Is Just A Business With A Mission
It is just a business with a mission

In the hospitality industry, the purpose of the company s mission statement is clear, as the day
when a new employee is hired, but sometimes it can be lost in translation as time passes on. It is a
standard practice in this industry when companies hires a food service worker their new employers
go over the rules, regulations, along with reviewing the company s handbook. Within that handbook,
there is a paragraph or two that explains the mission statement. Some companies mission statements
are rather long and tedious while others are short and sweet. However, the general concept of the
mission statements is to provide great dining, atmosphere, and service to each and every one of their
customers. However, most employees only see their companies mission statement when they are
hired, and that can lead to an employee forgetting the purpose of their company. Nevertheless, this
forgetfulness is troubling and a problem to most food service managers. As manager of my parent s
liquor establishment developing a clear formal mission statement, understanding, and executing our
mission statement was a top priority of mine when I was hired. Upon my hiring, I noticed that the
business did not have a mission statement. I developed a mission statement that states, A passion to
serve. This mission statement is simple, easy to memorize, and very useful. This mission statement
is a formal statement, but ties into the vision, core values, and
Doctor Who Code Of Chivalry
Doctor Who is a British television show following the adventures of a space alien called the
Doctor, who is a Time Lord and eventually the last of his people. His people have the ability to
regenerate and change the way they look in order to cheat death. He has a ship called the
TARDIS, time and relative dimensions in space, that allows him to travel throughout space and
time. The ship is disguised as a blue British police box. He typically has one or more companions,
most being human, that go along with him and help him defeat a variety of alien and human
enemies. Although this is a science fiction series it does display some characteristics of medieval
romance. In this essay I will be focusing mainly on the Tenth Doctor. One aspect of medieval
romance that is shown in Doctor Whois he follows some aspects of the code of chivalry. The Doctor
manages to find those in need and trouble wherever he goes. No matter the situation or the risk he is
willing to put his life on the line to protect the weak and defenceless. His worst enemies the Daleks,
octopus like creatures with pronounced brains hidden behind nearly indestructible armour shells,
they have only one mission to exterminate anything that isn t one of them. Even when the Doctor is
facing them, he does whatever he can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that the Ood were a servant race and liked to serve others, also they had to replace their hind brains

Weight Lifting Research Paper
Weight lifting is one of the greatest sports on this planet. Why is weight training so awesome and

Skeletal, Smooth, and Cardiac. The three kinds of muscles are different in some ways and they
do have things in common. Almost 650 of the 700 muscles in the human body are skeletal
muscles. Skeletal muscles are also known as voluntary muscles because we can voluntarily
control their movements. An example, humans choose to use skeletal muscles when they flex
their arm muscles or run laps around a track. Your Skeletal muscles are arranged in the body so
that they are held in a slight stretch over the joint. If your leg muscles for instance, were entirely
relaxed while you were standing up your legs would buckle and you would fall in a heap. Skeletal
muscles are often attached from one side of the bone over the joint to the end of another bone.
Skeletal muscles function in pairs or groups like a team. Usually, these muscles pairs or groups are
Antagonistic. This means that they work against one another while one or more muscles in the pair
or group contract, or get smaller and thicker, the other relax, or get bigger and thinner. Muscles can
pull bones, but they can t push them. Without other muscles in the pair or group to pull a bone back
would remain in the same position forever. Smooth muscles power movement that we don t control
this is why the smooth muscles are called involuntary muscles. The body s nervous system
automatically controls the smooth muscles. Functions powered by these muscles involve breathing,
digestion

What To Sacrifice Research Paper
To sacrifice is to give up something important for something even better, which may cause pain;
but, in the end, it will be totally worth it. I have witnessed my own friends performing such a
damaging act that hurt me as individual, mentally, and has made me begin to struggle in daily
activities. I have allowed myself to become stressed out, ignore the healthier relationships in my
life, and have noticed a great decrease in my self esteem. However, I have learned that these
problems were or can be created due to the reaction and response I express. This reaction has both
hurt me and helped me build as an individual. Some people respond by getting revenge on the
other person, which ends up making him or her just as disrespectful as the other; while I have
realized it is better to forgive rather than hold a grudge. I also have realized forgiving someone
makes me appear more respectable, and it ultimately places me in a higher place than the individual

I begin to create a constant fear in my head that the person who hurt me once will most likely do it
again. I have learned that allowing someone a second, third, or sometimes fourth chance, creates
an image that does not show respect for myself. It has shown the person that is hurting me that
they can do whatever they please because I will forgive them anyways; which is not how I want
to be viewed in society. I fear the same occurrence will remain and that I will appear weak to
others; appearing weak in society is not the type of person I am. I have learned that even though I
may get hurt again, I have to do what is right and remove that person from my life, which will
eliminate my fear and allow me to stand
My Argumentative Research
Dear Tunxis Community College Humanities faculty, The last four months I had been enrolled in a
Composition II course which I have learned to write a strong argumentative research essay. The
content s in this folder are three examples of revised essays that I had wrote throughout the
semester. I will share with you all of my reflections and insights of each essayand what I have
learned in the whole process. The first essay that my Professor assigned was to be on the civil
rights. My topic of choice was music and its effect on the civil rights. This was an essay which I
first really struggled because I didn t know how to talk about such a topic in a way to really argue
my point. I started out by using the Gale database but I wasn t finding specific information that
would help solidify my essay. I turned to the library and picked up 33 Revolutions per Minute by
Dorian Lynskey, which provided information of all the different protest songs in the civil rights,
including jazz, a genre of music... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My weak point in this essay was finding extremely specific sources of my topic. Because social
media is still a relatively new and growing tool, it was hard to find credible and research based
sources that could be used to argue my point of view. This made me have to find sources that
were current problems with social media and a few studies of its effects on students in the
classroom. I also have a lengthy introduction to the topic in which I use a personal anecdote as
well as information about what social media actually is. I include this information because I
believe the best way to argue something is by first defining what that thing that your arguing
actually is and why you are arguing it. This is my favorite essay because I believe it s a non
traditional research essay, but it still argues a very complex and relevant subject that is important to

Rar At The Bandshell
I agree with this statement. The purpose of the regulation was to keep peace with RAR because the
city s final desire was to deliver a good show to the public but at the same time, it wanted to maintain
the individual rights of the community and the residences close to the bandshell. The record
indicates that inadequate soundamplification has had an adverse affect on the ability of some
audiences to hear and enjoy performances at the bandshell. That is why the city wished to sort out
this problem.

RAR performed at the bandshell from 1979 through 1986 and the city received multiple complaints
about the noise on several occasions. So, this time, the city wanted to do the things right and wanted
to get to an agreement between the interest

The Death And Life Of Great American Cities By Jane Jacobs
Recently I read a book titled The Death and Life of Great American Cities written by Jane Jacobs
(1961), which basically criticizes the urban planning processes generally employed in the planning,
renovation and rebuilding of cities. Though it was published in 1961, the book is still considered a
relevant piece of work and offers great insight to the various and sometimes ignored or unseen facets
of the way a cityorganizes itself despite the city planning process. The book is considered many
professionals involved in the planning and design of cities a must read even today. In the book,
Jacob s states that she has identified four criteria which must be present in an urbanized
environment for it to be place which will naturally promote a self sustaining, and resilient
socioeconomic character. The set of the four criteria can be used a framework and a tool that will
aid the planning process of the new urbanism. The wave of change to be more sustainable is
gaining some steam at present in Phoenix. Which is a relatively large (7 million people) in the
metropolitan area which is located in the southwest United states. The City of Phoenix is my
employer and where I currently reside. Therefore, it must be said, that my conclusion s may have
some element of bias in them even though I will make a very concerted effort to avoid it. I expect
that my evaluation of the presence or absence of the four criteria will provide a point of reference
which can be used to predict the
Observation Of A Child At The Children s House
This paper details my observation of a child at The Children s house. When I called to schedule
an observation time, I decided to go when the children would be outside engaging in activities of
their choosing. When I arrived my plan was to observe first (without interfering), then once I had
the notes that I needed to write about friendships and play, I intended to ask a child the questions
that were provided in the rubric. Initially, most of the children were scattered around playing by
themselves, in pairs or groups of 3. After observing for about 10 minutes without anything
interesting happening, I was about to go to a child and start interviewing him or her. Then a little
girl who I later found out to be named Alex gathered a group of about 5 other children to play
house . Alex was taller than all of the other children, her hair was blonde and her eyes were blue.
Based off the fact that she took the leadership role, was organizing a rule based game, and seemed
to prefer being near other children rather than adults, I estimated that she was 5 or 6 years old.
Now that I knew what game they were going to play I hypothesized that I would observe her
ability to differentiate between genders and their roles in the game of house that the children were
playing as well as assign roles to other children. I expected to see Alex cooperate with the other
children and take their perspectives and feelings into account because according to the first social
development lecture,
Electronic Waste
Don t Be Haste to E Waste
Electronic waste (e waste) has emerged as a critical global environmental health issue in both
developed and developing nations. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) refers to e waste
as electronic products that are discarded by consumers. More specifically, e waste is a generic term
that encompasses various forms of electrical and electronic equipment that may be old, might have
reached end of life and most importantly cease to be of any value to their present owners. These
electronics include computers, printers, television sets, mobile phones, video game consoles, and
VCR and DVD players, among other products. As the demand for newer, more effective and
efficient technology increases, the life span of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a matter of fact, throughout the course of my own life, I have owned a total of eleven phones.
From phones breaking, to wanting newer models, I, like most people in the US, did not think twice
about the consequences that result from such carelessness. In fact, the average cell phone can
contain up to or more than forty elements from the periodic table (UNEP 2009), which when
disposed of cause harm to the environment. Overall, current consumption patterns are unsustainable
and inequitable. Change is needed to fix this disaster.
Therefore, in order to reduce the amount of e waste in present day, it is up to individual consumers
to begin to realize that their actions have consequences to them. However it is not just up to
consumers to be responsible, but it is also up to producers to provide some extended responsibility.
That is, people seldom have any incentive to do good in that environmentally conscious owners who
want to do the right thing in disposing of their outdate electronics usually must reach into their own
pockets to make sure that these machines either find new homes or are recycled properly. Therefore,
companies should engage in what Leonard calls, Producer Takeback, in which a product and waste
management system is created to take responsibility for the safe management of their products when
they are no longer useful or discarded. Since the companies have made the product, it should be their
responsibility to
Fate and Free Will in Harry Potter
One of the most pondered questions in human existence is whether our lives are determined by
forces which are beyond our control or by our own free will. It is widely believed that one s own
destiny is created by fate. However, some also consider the possibility that one s own choices can
determine the reality of one s existence. In Harry Potter, JK Rowling uses fate and choice as forces
which shape the events revolving around her protagonist, Harry Potter, as well as the other
characters in the story. Rowling does not side with one idea over the other, but instead, argues that
both fate and choice are significant factors that determine the events which happen during the course
of an individual s development. Although Rowling lays out... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

They develop friendships with members of their own house and rivalries with members of
opposing houses. Upon being assigned to a house, each student strives to follow the standard and
expectations of their particular group, whether it is the brave Gryffindors, the loyal Hufflepuffs,
the wise Ravenclaws, or the cunning Slytherines. Their house becomes almost like a cult in
which they live by: Your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will
have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory and spend free time in
your house common room (85). Each of the students share the common goal of winning the
House Cup for their house. Individualism, therefore, is constrained and each student is forced to
act in a particular way in which they are expected to. Aside from the Sorting Hat, other forces of
fate also take part in determining the students house associations. For example, Harry is sorted
into Gryffindor, the same house his parents belonged to. Similarly every member in the Weasley
family had been a Gryffindor, while every member in the Malfoy family had been a Slytherine.
This reinforces the idea that the events in each character s life are predestined. They did not have a
choice over their placement in the houses, but rather, they are assigned to a particular house based
on forces beyond their control.

Harry s obtainment of his wand is another instance where fate intervenes and
