Name Connor S. Per.

________

Election 2024
One of the many things that makes America great is our ability to live our lives with the many
freedoms we have as citizens. We have the freedom to say what we want, go where we want to go, live
how we want to live and agree or disagree with our fellow citizens on wide range of topics. As
Americans we all generally want the same things. We all want our many freedoms protected and
guaranteed to us and have opportunities for jobs, economic prosperity, to live healthy lives, be safe in
our own homes and on the streets and have the means to live better than the generation did before us.

As Americans it is common to disagree on how all of that should be done. We are all Americans
but we are not all the same when it comes to our political beliefs regarding the role of the government
in our lives related to the issues previously stated as well as a variety of other issues. In your opinion,
what should the government be doing or not doing for the citizens in the United States? You will have
the opportunity to discuss what really matters to you and see how that connects with the views held by
the candidates running for president in the 2024 Election.

Assignment:

1. Define what it means to be a Conservative, and then define what it means to be a Liberal.
Along with the definition for each be sure to include which modern day political party matches
up with each political view. You may use [Link]
liberal-beliefs/ to help you with your answers.
Conservative: Personal responsibility like choosing to have a child and limited government
control. Republicans are the modern day political party that goes along this
Liberal: That everyone and everything should be equal The kind of a government provides
needs. Democrats are the modern day political party
2. Next go to the following link, [Link] and take the
on-line quiz to see how well you match up with what you thought you were coming into this
activity. Be sure to LIST what political category the quiz says you fall into.
I am a Stressed Sideline meaning I fall into nether category but in the middle

3. After you have examined your own political views, now it’s time to see how close Donald Trump
or Kamala Harris matches up with your views and opinions on what America needs. If you are
leaning towards a third party candidate, you may select anyone you choose who is currently
running.
Donald trump matches with my views more than Kamala does.
a. Now, take a look back at the 3 topics you selected for number #3 on the activity sheet. For
all 3 of the topics see how your candidate of choice stacks up with your opinions on those
topics. For each of the 3 topics selected list the name of the topic and if your views are the
same…….. SIMPLY WRITE SAME. For any differences you need to list how you and your
candidate differ. Please remember to support your opinions.
Other Issues
Same
Government Different by one percent and
Race and Immigration
I said it is the root of our country to be a mixing pot
b. Next, you will shift your focus towards the candidate that you do not support. Once again,
look back at your original 3 topics you chose and pick 1 issue that you feel you are at the
most opposite end of the spectrum with, as far as agreeing with that candidate’s position.

c. List the candidate, state the issue and explain why you don’t agree with their position on
that particular topic.

d. What role has the media played in this election in both helping and hurting your candidate
of choice? (List 1 positive and 1 negative for your candidate)

4. Now it’s time to cast your vote!

a. Who do think is going to win? I think Donald Trump will win

b. In 3 sentences or less, why should _____________be the next President? Donald Trump
would actually help our economy and help the border crisis. and he will make america
great as it was.
c. This has become a popular question as of late, if the candidate that you DO NOT support
wins, will you support that person while they are in office? Why or why not? I will just roll
with it Our country is messed up and confusing and its just not our place to ask questions
since if we ask questions then things will happen that will cause pain
