The Importance Of Prisons In The Prison System
Summary
The United States currently holds around 2 million prisoners, or around 25% of the world s
prison population (Prisonstudies.org). Furthermore, a large percentage of American prisoners are
from minority groups, and many others are charged for petty crimes such as non violent drug
offenses. People convicted of low level crimes experience the same kind of treatment as what a
violent convict would reasonably receive. These convicts tend to be deprived from basic rights, get
into gang fights on a daily basis and are emotionally deprived.

Across the world, different countries treat their prisoners differently. There are some countries, like
Brazil, that completely deprive prisoner s rights. On the other hand, prisoners in Norway are given
VIP treatment to be able to integrate themselves to society once again. It is unfortunate that these
extreme differences exist across the globe. Unlike Brazil and Norway, America has average if not,
below average treatment in prisons.

The correctional prison system spends a great deal of money on its system; it is greater than the
school budget (Kelly). Why is the US government investing more in its prisons rather than in its
educational facilities? In addition, the most notorious prisons stuff as many prisoners into the tiny
cells. The conditions are merely inhumane, and the government keeps funding these correctional
institutions. From our research, we have learned that American prisoners deserve better resources for
them to become
Gender Dysphori A Controversial Mental Disorder
Gender Dysphoria

Katlynn Tolley

Gender Dysphoria is a controversial mental disorder that affects the medical, social, and personal
aspects of the lives of many people. There is no definite known cause that is agreed upon in the
medical field. Research is still underway to determine causes of Gender Dysphoria as well as
effective treatment options and ways to increase the quality of life for people diagnosed with it.

Gender Dysphoria, or GD, is a condition in which an individual feels like their biological sex does
not correspond with the gender they feel comfortable identifying as. To understand the disorder,
you must first understand the meaning of the words. Gender is the state of being male or female
(Merriam Webster). Dysphoria is a synonym for dissatisfaction. Therefore, Gender Dysphoria
means the individual is dissatisfied, or uncomfortable, with being either a biological male or a
biological female. In the past, Gender Dysphoria used to be called Gender Identity Disorder (Web
MD). Another name is Transvestic Fetishism (Britannica).

Signs of Gender Dysphoria can become apparent in childhood. Younger children may dislike toys
and activities for children their age that line up with their biological sex. Children this young
typically do not understand gender, but this is an early sign that they are unaware of. They may
also choose friends of the gender they consciously or subconsciously wish to be. They may be more
attracted to these people because

When a patient checks into Nightingale Community Hospitals they believe the hospital will put
there care first and provide quality medicine. Looking at the recent compliance reports there are
areas of patient care this hospital needs to improve in. Reporting critical results within 60 minutes,
labeling medication containers and reactions with anticoagulation therap.0y are areas that this
hospital needs to improve upon. Improving these areas would be just one step toward increasing
patient care and satisfaction at this hospital. There are three areas to focus on that Nightingale

Developing and enforcing dosing and monitoring guidelines for all anticoagulation therapy will
increase awareness of drug reactions and allow for medical records verification among all hospital
professional. With verification of medications and patient records will result in less drug reactions.
(Franco, Maxwell, Green Barthol, 2009) Medication reactions can been minimize even more with
proper handling, patient care and medical records management.
Being the hospital of choice for patients, employee, physicians, volunteers and community members
is Nightingale Community Hospital s vision while providing quality to its patient care. There are
some area the hospital needs to improve to increase their compliance standards with the Joint
Communions standards. The improvements are reporting critical results within 60 minutes, labeling
medication containers and reactions with anticoagulation therapy. Remembering how you want to be
treated, as a patient will help create the correct action plan to improve areas where the Nightingale
Community Hospital is out of compliance.

A1. Plan for Compliance

As board members we must remember that we are not only leaders of this hospital but also patients
and members of this community. Introduction to a more robust communication plan, verification

Falling Snow In Desert Places
Whereas the imagery Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening teases ... with a near nihilism
(Bloom 7), the falling snow in Desert Places strongly points to nihilism. The fast falling snow
[refuses] to communicate: it says and means nothing (Kendall 352). The snow blankets the
surroundings; the ground is almost covered smooth in snow and the animals, the living elements,
are smothered in their lairs . The concrete blankness (Oster 199) created by the falling snow alludes
to the fear of having no expression, nothing to express . In a biological context, this fear of nothing
to say was ... constant to Frost (Oster 201). Using falling snow is significant because it denotes a
nothingness that continues; as the persona relates the snowy

As an undead leader who has lived through many wars, and fought off many enemies, Sylvanas

Word of Warcraft franchise. World of Warcraft is a fantasy video game that you play online, and
it is my favorite video game because of the game s rich storylines and characters. She is the
leader, or warchief of the faction called The Horde . In early life, Sylvanas Windrunner was
appointed ranger general for her homeland of Silvermoon City. During her time as a general, there
was a war going on with a group of very violent people that called themselves The Scourge . Sadly,
she was murdered in the war against The Scourge alongside her brother, Lirath. The leader of The

During her ranger days, she was a skilled huntress. After she was brought back, she gained many
new magical abilities. She ripped her own soul out of the underworld, and brought herself back to
life. After that, she was given darker, magical powers. Sylvanas is described as having powers
such as bringing the dead back to life. This comes in handy because when she kills the enemy s
troops, she can bring them back to life and have them under her control. This is similar to what
Arthas did with the Scourge, so it s a little ironic. She is also extremely powerful, although not
looking like it. She may look like a normal elven woman, but she has a plethora of charms casted
onto her body, making it nearly indestructible. Sylvans has 1,380,000 health points, which is
overwhelming compared to the average human in the game. Average humans have around 400

them, but an amazing day for

Always remember no man is an island NO one can stand alone by herself. Furthermore there s the
second thing I want being a college student the feeling of being in love. In love with the person when
you love too. By the way love that person, some people can t avoid themselves criticizing you and
making issues that can affect your life. This was the story: she loved the guy for a non sense
person she change the guy make use of it to hide the true reason to that. The lady cried because,
we all know that it hurts, it really hurts! But the word puppy love is the first two words that came
to my mind of the lady. She s too young and smart so, she can experience new things coming from
her way. That was her aim. After that, she faces the world single and free. And with the confidence
guts that she can reach her goals.
The main point is there is no need to hurry up things. Our wish and dream will come at the right
place and right time. So it s our decision to make our choices

we need is to make it to be the top. Just make our best to live life happy and enjoy COLLEGE

been a huge aspect of my life. I have attended the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games, 2013
Sherbrooke Canada Summer Games, 2013 Montreal Canadian Canoe Kayak Nationals, 2014 Regina
Canadian Canoe Kayak Nationals, and the 2015 Ottawa Canadian Canoe KayakNationals. The

my best friends. In this picture, Alyssa and I are in a safety boat after tipping in a two person 6000

passions, the value I put on friendship, some of my qualities such as determination and commitment,
and my inspiration for my interest in physical therapy.
In the picture I chose, I am doing one of my passions, kayaking. I have been involved in kayaking
for 5 years. It is a large aspect of my life as I spend between nine to fifteen hours a week training
and have traveled across Canada for various competitions. When I started kayaking, I went to a
weeklong summer camp and fell in love with the sport. I then joined racing program, which lasted
the entire summer. During this time, I had the opportunity to begin training in various team boats.

My Experience At The Grocery Store
There was once a time in my life where everything was perfect. There were smiles, toys, good
times, friendships and playgrounds. This period of time was my early childhood when the only
time I became sick was when I fell during my joyous playtimes. However, as I grew older, the world
and my environment changed. I always tried to keep healthy by maintaining the right diet and taking
vitamins. Despite this, something terrible happened to me on December 12th, 2015.
December 12th, 2015 was just another regular day for me. I was working at my part time job at
the grocery store. I did the same routine tasks as any other day: said my prayers, had breakfast,
showered and got prepared to go to work. That morning was a beautiful morning. The sun was
shining brightly, the birds were chirping sweetly and a warm Christmas spirit was in my home. My
parents were jovial as on any other day, and they both encouraged me to have a wonderful day.
Work began at 8am. It was 7:16 am when I left home to go to work. I was energetic and excited.
I arrived at work at 7:45 am to begin my shift. The sun was extremely hot and I began to sweat as I
unlocked the outdoor trolleys. However, I did not let this deter me, as I was in an energetic mood
and eager to spread the Christmas spirit to all the customers whom I would encounter. At 8am when
the supermarket doors opened, there was a huge rush. This was expected as the Christmas period
was always busy. I greeted the customers warmly and performed my task

Big picture questions
1. The thing that motivated and sustained the long distance commerce of the Silk Roads, Sea Roads,

Eurasian network, as well as the accumulation of wealth, especially among merchants who
participated in the trade.

Occupy Wall Street: The Solution to the Collapse of the Economy? In October of 2008 Congress,
passed a $700 billion rescue bill to bail out, and possibly save, the doomed U.S. and global

to level off the stock market and unfreeze the credit which was needed after the collapses of the

Government regulators could have added to the crisis as well. It is believed that the 1999 repeal
of the Glass Steagall Act, which split commercial banking from investment activities, could have

prohibited regulation of most swaps was afactor. Another decision under examination is the

Thomas Jefferson Essay
Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson s ideals and beliefs were derived from a deep regard for life, liberty, and
freedom. His concept of individual freedoms strongly disagreed with the notion of a guided
republic which he believed concentrated a great deal unchecked power among a few people. This
could have the potential of tyrannical government that might suppress personal freedoms of any
kind especially those of religion, which Jefferson feels very strongly felt should be protected. After
fighting hard to rid America of British domination, Jefferson was determined to create a government
that was responsible to, and derived its powers from, a free people. As the writer of the Declaration

Thomas Jefferson believed that all Americans should have the freedom of language and sentiment
#8230;as derived from the laws of nature . In his most famous document, the Declaration of
Independence, he stated that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator
with certain [inherent and] inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit
of happiness . Jefferson was a strong advocate of a bill of rights within the Constitution. In a letter
to James Madison, he says that he did not like #8230;the omission of a bill of rights providing
#8230;for freedom of religion [and for] freedom of the press . Jefferson was in favor of religious
freedom because it did him no injury for [his] neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god .
Jefferson wrote the Bill for Establishing Religious Freedom which essentially stated that all men
shall be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinions in matters of religion . He
summarizes his feelings in letters to both Elbridge Gerry and Edward Carrington, where he writes
that he is against all violations of the constitution because the basis of our governments should be
the opinion of the people, [and] the very first object should be to keep that right . Jefferson wanted
a separation of powers within the government in order to prevent one person or group having a
tyrannical hold over the nation. He believed
Symbolism In The Chrysanthemums
The setting of a short story often plays a major role in revealing the theme of the story, especially in
short stories where the characters cannot show their full personality because of the narrative s short
length. In The Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck, the setting offers the reader deeper
understanding of the story and especially the main character, Elisa Allen. Set in Salinas Valley,
California, Steinbeck expertly contradicts the expectations that come along with a California setting:
lazy days in the sun, the thrill of adventure, and the warmth of perennial happiness. The setting
reveals the isolation plaguing Elisa Allen and her desperation for intimacy while also mirroring Elisa
s inner feelings. The setting lends itself to feelings... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When she is introduced, she is wearing a gardening costume (178) which covers nearly all of her
skin and is described as being traditionally masculine. She conceals herself, thereby concealing her
true feelings as well. Along with the heavy gardening garb, Steinbeck also describes her as being
behind a wire fence, where her flowers are protected from harm. However, she treats her flowers as
an extension of herself due to the amount of care she puts into them, so the fence is not only
protecting her flowers from harm, but also herself. The fence and the clothing are methods of
protecting herself and further concealing her loneliness. However, she removes part of her armour
when the tinker, surreptitiously manipulating her, begins to make friendly conversation and she
engages with him. Although the conversation falters, the tinker discovers another route to
manipulate Elisa when he compliments her chrysanthemums and she takes her hat off to reveal her
pretty hair (182). She reveals herself to him, her true self, due to her attraction to the tinker s way to
life and his interest in the flowers that she treats as an extension of herself, but also due to her
longing for closeness with someone else who truly understands
