Function Overview: The Safety and Security function is committed to taking appropriate measures to develop, implements
and maintain a well-balanced security program safety and security programs and related activities; to ensure that an
adequate level of protection exists for all of the Firm’s assets at all corporate and regional locations.
This role will be extensively working with Global Security Technology team. The team is responsible for the design, installation
and integration of security systems equipment including, but not limited to, Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV
Surveillance systems. The role will include process and system improvement efforts to improve the overall performance of the
system and the Technical Security team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: List up to 5 key duties and responsibilities, management responsibilities and time spent (if applicable)
Manage installation of approved physical security system hardware, including, but not limited to, access control
devices, intrusion detection devices, CCTV, and other components of physical security systems.
Design of physical security system for new construction, expansion and retrofit projects.
Preparation of security design standards, typical drawings, and technical specification documents for projects for the
purposes of pricing by approved vendors. Review and provide quality assurance of vendor quotes. Submission of
complete and accurate vendor quote packages to the Infrastructure Technical Project Manager for inclusion in project
requisitions.
Project management of multiple, concurrent security system installation projects and vendors.
Subject Matter Expert for physical security system testing and acceptance, and assuring operational readiness at
project completion.
Reporting vendor performance metrics regarding system installation, service delivery, and equipment availability /
reliability
Provide Technical support to Physical Security Team
Coordination with remote teams for programming, testing and commissioning
Process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.

The Security System Engineer will be responsible for the continuous review of existing standards and to stay
abreast of developments in new technology that will enhance the physical security of TIAA offices.
Business or Industry Expertise: Describe the degree of knowledge and understanding required of TIAA’s business and
industry, commercial environment and of competitors products and services.
Good knowledge of CCTV systems, recorders and controller servers, preferably Verint; but similar experience with
other cameras systems such as Genetec, March Networks, etc
Good knowledge of access control systems, and a good knowledge of how this relates to the hardware (readers,
panels, alarms … etc) and networking, and preferably Lenel
General understanding of intercom systems and preferably Zenitel/Stentofon
General understanding of visitor management systems such as Hello Systems Lobbe Suite
Good general knowledge of high-level server information, such as the ability to check on and stop or start specific
services, do cleanup ,etc.
Knowledge of CCTV and Access Control hardware wiring
Technical writing and process skills
Attention to detail and the ability to stay engaged during repetitive, detail-oriented tasks
Interactions / Interpersonal Skills: Describe the nature and level of interactions this job has with others, both internally

Job Requirements And Qualifications: Indicate the minimum and preferred education and experience for the job and any

Required Education: Technical Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or
Electronics Engineering/ Telecommuncations or
security technology Field
Preferred Education: Technical Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or
Electronics Engineering/ Telecommuncations or
security technology Field
Required Experience: 5-10 years Minimum 5-6 years of work experience as Security
System Engineer or similar position
Preferred Experience: 5-10 years Minimum 5-6 years of working in corporate Security
Function in similar role in IT/ ITES industry
Knowledge of Lenel, Verint, Hello Systems, Zenitel etc.
Skills and Abilities: Comfortable working in windows server environment
4+ years security device installation experience
Other Lenel and Verint certified.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
