Adoption Consequences
Adoption and its Consequences for an Adopted Child

Kristiane B. Fallarcuna

Adoption is a good option for parents who can t secure the future of their children and for people
who long to have children to take care as their own. It can be a saving ground for unwanted
children and for parents who can t afford to keep their children. There are lots of successful adoption
cases and that children with their adoptive parents had happy and loving relationship with one
another. However, there are possible consequences for the adopted child which include lack of
genetic and biological information, feeling of rejection and lowered self confidence and self esteem.

Most adopted children have totally loss contact with their biological parents so it is hard for them
to check some important biological and genetic information. They have no easy way of knowing
what kind of diseases or traits can be genetically transferred to them so they can prevent it earlier.
This consequence can highly affect the medical history of the adopted child which is very important
in improving the healthy lifestyle. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For many especially those who were never treated differently by there adoptive parents, such feeling
can be overcome easily but unfortunately for some, it takes lifetime to overcome.

Another consequence of adoption for an adopted child is the lowering of self confidence and self
esteem. These problems are the long term results of feeling of rejection. Not all adopted children
experiences such issue but the authentic love, concern, trust, and care of the adoptive parents play
an important role in giving their children normal and happy
Liberal Brainwashing
What is learned as a child stays with you for the rest of your life. We have given teaches the
awesome responsibility of molding our young. They take a head full of mush and fill it with facts
(Limbaugh). Do we want them to impart their political agendas on our vulnerable children? I think
not!!! Studies have shown that most teachers have very definite liberal leanings. They often show
that bias in the classroom. If there is one thing that my mother has told me is that direct omission
is a lie, and if you are going to present your liberal views then you must also present the
conservative rebuttal. However, this is not what is happening is today s schools. In fact, teachers
often give lower grades for writings that do not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

thematic essay on identity
Thematic Essay on Identity nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; There are many aspects of identity in
the poem Sex without Love, by Sharon Olds. I can relate my own thoughts to how the author
views the subject that she talks about in this poem. There has been a situation in my own life
where I was thinking to myself, just as the author was, How do they do it, the ones who make love
without love? (Olds 740). Having been raised as a well rounded and disciplined person, as well as
religious, I know the discouragement of having premarital sex. It s not just the immorality that these
characters are experiencing that the author is talking about, but they probably have personal issues
that have to do with a their self worth and identity. These... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is hard to believe that someone would endanger his or her identity just for the sake of pleasure.
A lot of people will find themselves in this kind of situation if they are not aware of the risks
involved or because of certain conditions or morals that a person grew up with. I am fortunate
enough to know the consequences of my actions, was brought up with strict and over protective
parents, and saved by the church. Not all people are lucky enough to be able to make the right
decisions for themselves all the time, which could harm a person s identity. Sex Without Love
discuses a kind of relationship that involves a kind of binding between two people, that is not
true love, but an image of them joined together. Children who are born to unwed parents have the
possibility of being but up for adoption, which is another remaining factor. How do they come to
the, come to the, come to the, God, come to the still waters, and not love the one who came there
with them, light rising slowly as steam off their joined skin? (Olds). The author uses repetition of
words to imply that these people are having sex over and over again without any guilt. A question
comes to my mind when looking back on this poem. Are these the people we are supposed to
respect? The only
Hazmat Transportation Of Hazardous Materials
Our society uses a lot of materials considered hazardous. They are used in, or are the byproduct of,
industrial processes, power plants, the medical and pharmaceutical industries, and fuels. Much of the
land transport of hazardous materials is the job of the trucking industry.

Because of the risks to both the truck driver and the public, Hazmat transport pays better. Yearly pay
for Hazmat truck drivers can be $50,000 and more. While this makes Hazmat transport attractive,

Michelangelo s Influence On The Development Of Western Art
Michelangelo was an Italian Renaissance painter, sculptor, architect, poet, and engineer. His most
well known technique was fresco. He had a major influence on the development of western art. He
also influenced many artists in the Renaissance. He was born in Caprese, Italy in the year of 1475.
He considered Florence to be his home at heart. During the Renaissance Era, Florence was a center
of art. Michelangelosaw that as an opportunity to develop his true talents. At 13, Michelangelo was
an apprentice to painter Domenico Ghirlandaio, particularly known for his murals. Although
Michelangelo expressed his genius in many media, he would always consider himself a sculptor
first. Michelangelo has always been known as one of the most famous Renaissance artists because of
his awe inspiring paintings, Sistine Chapel Ceiling, The Last Judgment, and The Torment of Saint
Anthony, and artistic panache.
The Torment of Saint Anthony is the earliest known painting by Michelangelo. This painting shows
Saint Anthony being accosted by demons in midair. Michelangelo finished this painting at the age of
twelve or thirteen in. This painting shows a jumpstart of his many talents. The mediums used in this
artwork include tempera and oils on wood panel. The color scheme is very cool. The green and red
of the demons contrasts the background, making the black robe stand out more. The lines in the
painting, which are vertical, puts an effect that the demons appear more realistic, making you
Rosebud Film Analysis
Rosebud... An iconic one liner that begins the mystery of who Citizen Kane truly was. The scene
opens up to eerie music; the camera slowly making its way past a chain link fence with the sign
that says No Trespassing . The camera continues it s journey beyond the fence; showing glimpses
of a more elaborate fence with a large K , for Kane drawing the eye. Upon the fence sit two small

In the time period Citizen Kane was released, film making was rather predictable typically making
use of the same camera angles, set types, and lighting. This film introduced methods of
cinematography, and revolutionary avant garde storytelling to Hollywood.Welles both directed,
and starred in the film having utter control of even the most minuscule details he put his full
attention to every aspect of the film including lighting, and music. This, in itself, was unusual
being that studios, and their managers, basically micro organized every detail. Prior to the Citizen
Kane release not just the way studios handled the film making process changed films at the time
were typically put in chronological order: start to finish. This film revolutionized that, starting
from Kane s death, and telling the story of his life; we watch him pass, visit his childhood, and
eventually adulthood. What was even more fascinating for that time period, was that we heard
about his life from five people, and five biased perspectives; he made use of both non linear, and
composite storytelling. The manner in which he portrayed Kane showed all his flaws, and didn t
show a heroic representation of the character that was so typically done in
Soy Sauces In East Asian And Southeast Asian Cultures
Soy sauce is widely used as an important flavouring and has been integrated into the traditional
cuisines of many East Asian and Southeast Asian cultures. Despite their rather similar appearance,
soy sauces made in different cultures and regions are different in taste, consistency, fragrance and
saltiness.
Soy sauce is a salty, brown liquid made from fermented soy beans mixed with some type of
roasted grain such as wheat, barley and rice, injected with a special yeast mold, Aspergillus
oryzae and liberally flavoured with salt. The sauce s consistency can range from very thin to very
thick. Flavours too, vary by type and have very subtle differences. There are many types of soy

Dark or old Chinese soy sauce is a dark, thick soy sauce, aged longer and added with molasses to
give it its distinctive look. This variety is mainly used as a table top seasoning, but is also used in
cooking. It has a richer flavour than light soy sauce, but is less salty.
Chinese soy sauce is made with a lower proportion of wheat than the lighter Japanese soy sauce.
Besides, Japanese style soy sauces tend to be clearer and thinner than Chinese soy sauces. Light
soy sauce from Japan has a thinner consistency and a saltier flavour than the darker varieties. It is
preferred when a darker sauce will ruin the appearance of a dish, or when a lighter flavour is sought,
especially when serving seafood.
Tamari is a deeply coloured Japanese soy sauce which has a rich texture and intense flavour. It
contains little or no wheat. Wheat free tamari can be used by people with gluten intolerance. It is
the original Japanese soy sauce, as its recipe is closest to the soy sauce originally introduced to
Japan from China. With a higher soybean content, tamari has a stronger flavour and is ideally used
as a dipping

In the movie, there are signs saying either no prawns or no humans and the humans show a major
sign of xenophobia towards the prawns. In this day in age we see a lot of hatred towards
foreigners, in particular, terrorists. In the beginning of the movie you see Blomkamp interviewing
the humans about the prawns. They show a great level of hatred and disgust for the prawns
intruding on their town. In the real world, we see this same form of hatred or disgust from certain
people about the immigrants and refugees intruding on and taking over many American s jobs.
Blomkamp wants to push the issue that there is great hatred throughout the world today. The main
reason he produced the film in Johannesburg was because there were high tensions between native
south Africans and Zimbabwean refugees. He wanted to try to make the town he grew up in great
again. Blomkamp wanted to open people s eyes with the use of science fiction to show that in some
ways we treat other humans like the humans treated the prawns.

A Brief Analysis of Mental Disorders
Everything related to psychology fascinates me, since the history of founders of psychology, to
some of the theories that have been developed over the time, to how science and our brain work
biologically. When I first started thinking about becoming a psychologist, one of my main
questions was how the mind works and how it can force us to choose to do certain actions,
especially those that might affect ourselves. However, during this learning period I have realized
that not all about my future career is sweetness and harmony, for instance, there are facts that at
some point have kept me wondering about how after countless studies a person is still threatening
himself/herself or to other people. For example, I did not know that according... Show more content

Just to mention a few, one of them is the Biological factor or genes that can be part of the cause.
Chemicals in the brain, serotonin, and norepinephrine are mainly responsible of behavior, and a
destabilization of one may trigger any disorder. For example, depression can run in families.
Alternatively, the environmental factor such as family history, and abuses could also active a mental
disorder. For instance, continuous exposure to violence, neglect, abuse, or poverty can expose
people to be susceptible. A mental disorder can affect anyone, even a person who appears to live in
relatively ideal circumstances. Mental disorders are common, but treatments are available.
Treatments: Oftentimes, the best treatment involves both medication and some form of talk therapy,
but a person with any sign or symptom should firstly obtain a diagnostic evaluation by a trained
professional, be educated about mental illness, signs, and symptoms, receive supportive counseling
about daily life and strategies for mental disorders management to be monitored closely for
conditions that may require more intensive care, do exercise, change diet, or take vacations are also
recommended. Suicidal thoughts or attempts and violent or homicidal thoughts require immediate
attention. Some disorders have no cure, but treatments are available to reduce the intensity and
frequency of the symptoms. For instance, schizophrenia. As

Fulgencio Batista was president of Cuba from 1940 to 1944. During his time in office he expanded
the educational system, sponsored a huge program of public works, and brought up the growth of
the economy (Britannica). In 1952 he ran for president again but this time put together a coup
because he believed he wouldn t win. The coup overthrew the current president, Carlos Prio Socarras,
and made Batista dictator. As Fulgencio Batista gained more power he became more corrupt,
forgetting his roots, and negatively impacting the poor of Cuba.
Batista was born into a life of poverty on January 16, 1901 (Rutgers). He was the son Belisario
Batista Palermo, a sugar cane cutter and Carmela Zaldivar Gonzalez, a stay at home mom. He
grew up with three younger brothers, Francisco, Hermelindo, and Juan Batista in Banes, a small

have moved because he wanted to take his sons mind off there mother s death. After being at the

Analysis Of A Separate Peace By John Knowles
The classic insight into fiction is that you show your story. You don t explain your story to a
reader. You make it happen in the reader s mind (Mabe 1). Those words were said by the late John
Knowles in 1987, when he began to teach creative writing in South Florida. He lived up to his
words by making sure that his reader was thoroughly entertained as they examined his best known
novel, A Separate Peace, a coming of age story which follows two teenage boys and their friendship
during World War II. As the plot begins to firmly establish itself and the conflict continues to develop
during the fourth, fifth, and sixth chapters of the book, the reader is drawn further into the piece and
their suspense and anticipation are built. They continue to learn about the author s artistic writing
style, see how Knowles integrated different literary devicesinto his work, discovers new traits and
qualities of his characters, and develop feelings about the story.
Knowles riddled his novel, A Separate Peace, with various unique literary devices which include
allusions, similes and metaphors, hyperboles, anaphoras, idioms, and metonymies. A great number
of the expressions he used involved multiple devices within one sentence. Yet, their placement is not
overwhelming. Instead, their arrangement make the story more captivating. As Gene lay awake on
the New Hampshire beach witnessing the inspiring sunrise, he describes the transformation this way:

Gulliver s Travels
Gulliver s Travels

INTRODUCTION

Gulliver s Travels (1726, amended 1735), officially Travels into Several Remote Nations of the
World, in Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, is a novel by Irish writer and clergyman Jonathan Swift
.This novel is considered both a satire on human nature and a parody of the fictional travelogues
tales literary sub genre. It is Swift s best known full length work, and a classic of English literature.

The book became tremendously popular as soon as it was published. (John Gay said in a 1726 letter
to Swift that it is universally read, from the cabinet council to the nursery ); since then, it has never
been out of print.

When he is told that the time has come for him to leave the island, Gulliver faints from grief. Upon
returning to England, Gulliver feels disgusted about other humans, including his own family.

Positive vs Negetive Side

In these fantastic tales, Swift satirizes the political events in England and Ireland in his day, as
well as English values and institutions. He ridicules academics, scientists, and Enlightenment
thinkers who value rationalism above all else, and finally, he targets the human condition
itself.Like all of Swift s works, Gulliver s Travels was originally published without Swift s name
on it because he feared government persecution. His criticisms of people and institutions are often
scathing, and some observers believe he was a misanthrope (one who hates mankind). Other
critics have suggested that while Swift criticized humans and their vanity and folly, he believed
that people are capable of behaving better than they do and hoped his works would convince
people to reconsider their behavior. Swift himself claimed he wrote Gulliver s Travels to vex the
world rather than divert it. He succeeded in that aim, as the book is considered one of the best
examples of satire ever written. Swift s sharp observations about the corruption of people and their
institutions still ring true today, almost three hundred years after the book was first published.

My Personal Opinion
