How to convert TIFF/TIF to PDF

Tag Image File Format or TIFF (TIF) as it is most commonly known to us is one format that is
used for exchanging raster graphic or bitmap images between different applications such as the ones
used for scanning. Hence you would find that TIFF is a common format used for many purposes, for
example, faxing, desktop publishing, medical imaging and 3D applications etc.

TIFF files also have a lot of variety when it comes to the classes they can be in including color
palette, gray scale or RGB full color. They can also include files with different compressions such as
JPEG, CCITT Group 4 standard run lengths or LZW for that matter.

What I am trying to tell you is that you will find a lot of TIFF files if you ... Show more content on

Financial Aid Speeches
Good afternoon!
My name is Stephanie Fitzsimmons, and I am the Director of Financial Aid at Brookdale
Community College. I also serve as part of the Government Relations Committee for The New
Jersey Association of Student Financial Aid Professionals. I am honored to be here today
representing NJASFAA and to have the opportunity to speak to you.
Given all the recommendations and steps described in the previous testimonies, I d like to take a
few minutes to address the subject of early awareness, specifically as it relates to financial aid and
financial literacy. As financial aid professionals, we see firsthand the struggles that families across
all income levels face in meeting their costs of higher education. These costs not only include ...

Organizational Sense Making
Organizational Sensemaking in the FBI s Amerithraxing Investigation: When Sensemaking Becomes
Sense Faking
During the fall of 2001, five or more letters were received in the mail by the offices of two U.S.
Senators, and news organizations in New York and Florida. The letters contained a dry, powdered,
and especially virulent and airborn form of the anthrax bacteria, as well as a handwritten note
(D.O.J., 2010). As a result of these mailings, five people lost their lives, 31 more contracted anthrax
but did not die, and ten thousand more received prophylactic antibiotics on the basis of estimated
exposure risk (D.O.J., 2010). In August 2008, nearly seven years after the deadly anthrax attacks, the
FBI announced that research scientist Bruce Ivins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

tumult of the 911 attacks and the vast organizational changes that were being undertaken as a result.
Therefore, while there is little cause for casting blame, the FBI s failures are both illustrative and
educational in terms of how organizational culture can thwart sensemaking efforts at every
Essay on justifying war
When a person sees all the grisly images of war on the television set they cannot help but think,
This has got to stop . But what reasons can this person justify their decision on? There are many
people in the world who can only argue their opinion through what they see on TV, which of
course is not what war is. In William Earle s essay In Defense of War and Trudy Govier s Nuclear
Illusion and Individual Obligationswe respectively see a pro war and an anti waropinion. We must
differentiate between the two because Earle s essay talks about war in generalities but Govier
focuses on the nuclear aspect of war. As with most essays discussing similar topicsthey have their
similarities and differences and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a person sees the consequences of war on their TV (which is usually dismembered bodies
and bloodshed) they do not realize that TV is confined to showing what can be shown since it
cannot offer any picture to the thought of war. The media does not provide a real look at what
war really is. Earle criticizes the underlying presuppositions of pacifism as well as tracing the
harmful consequences of it. He believes that the principle of pacifism is absurd and morally
deplorable. Ideally, war is evil and peace is good. This is the perspective that pacifism takes. The
supposed pacifists who Earle says are retired baby doctors, neurotic poets and novelists,
psychoanalysts, ministers and confused philosophers claim they have some sort of special insight
that allows them to speak out for the suffering of humanity. In doing so they eliminate the careful
political thought and emerge with slogans that are supported by massive demonstrations and the
exchanging of insults. Since they see no justification for war they believe that there has to be a
cause and in turn a solution to the problem. Earle believes the justification needed for war is in fact
its own cause. Pacifists trash around for explanations of why bad things happen. They constantly
spout out reasons for this. All in all, the assumption of these explanations is that there can be no
moral justification for war at all. It is pure evil and since man is
Steve Jobs Pathos Analysis
1. In his speech, Steve Jobs presents several elements of pathos. Write down five of the examples
that involve Jobs use of pathos and explain why he shares these elements with the audience.
The first story that uses pathos was the one he told about his biological mother giving him up for
adoption. The second story that uses pathos was the story he told about how his parents that
adopted him wanted a girl at first. He also mentions that his real mother almost didn t sign the
paper to let him be adopted after she found out that the couple that wanted to adopt him had not
been to college. The third story that uses pathos was the story he told about dropping out of
college. He had a huge money struggle during this time and even had to sleep on the floors of his
friends dorms nightly. His fourth story that uses pathos was the one he told about getting fired from
his own company. This story had to hit the heart of many because it tells the story of how he gets
fired from something that he created. His fifth story that uses pathos was the story he told about
death. This story told about how he overcame cancer and how scared he was through it all. Jobs
shared all of these tragic stories with the audience to try and connect to them. He most likely thought
that if he could connect with the emotional side of the audience that they would really listen. In
other words he did this to gain their attention so that they would actually listen to him and hopefully
be inspired about his life story.

2. Look back over the speech and find a line that is filled with ethos. Write it down. What does this
fact show us about Jobs?
We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2
billion company with over 4,000 employees. This fact shows us that he was just a normal person
just like us, and that he started out on his own. It shows us how far he truly has come. It also allows
people to realize that they can do anything they set their mind to, just like Jobs did.
3. Explain how a random calligraphy class that Jobs took at Reed College in the 1970s impacted the
way you create documents today. What is Jobs larger point in telling the audience about the
calligraphy class?
Steve Jobs is the man
Essay on Hiroshima by John Hersey
Hiroshima by John Hersey

The non fiction book Hiroshima by John Hersey is an engaging text with a powerful message in
it. The book is a biographical text about lives of six people Miss Sasaki, Dr. Fujii, Mrs. Nakamura,
Father Kleinsorge, Dr. Sasaki and Rev. Tanimoto in Hiroshima, Japan and how their lives completely
changed at 8:15 on the 6th of August 1945 by the dropping of the first atomic bomb. The author,
John Hersey, through his use of descriptive language the in book Hiroshima exposes the many
horrors of a nuclear attack.

Through the shocking and troubling graphic detail of human suffering and the physical effect of
radiation and burns caused by the dropping of the atomic bomb Hersey exposes to the reader the

In the book Hiroshima the author not only exposes the physical impacts right after the bomb but
also weeks and years after the nuclear attack. The effect of radiation caused by the atomic bomb
on people for most lasted for the rest of there live and often was the cause of the death and for
those who had children affected some of there children. One of the six people interviewed, Father
Kleinsorge who had only suffered minor cuts when the bomb had been dropped, a month later
they still hadn t healed and was suffering from high fever and abdominal pain and low white cell
count. But his character couldn t receive the one thing which would have probably helped, a blood
transfusion because with atomic bomb patients they weren t sure that if you stick needles in them
they ll stop bleeding. By telling the reader about Father Kleinsorge Hersey shows the reader that
the nuclear attack caused many people to suffer from radiation sick months after the actual
bombing and the irony is that one of thing that could save them could also kill them. The author
also tells us that by 1950 the incidence of leukemia in hibakusha (survivors of the atomic bomb)
was between ten and fifteen time above the normal, this was five years after the bomb had hit
Hiroshima. Hersey does this to show the reader that even for those that are lucky enough to escape
death and the terrible burns from the bomb they still are affected physically by the effect of
Advantages Of Principle Component Analysis
3.4. Principle Component Analysis (PCA)
Principle component analysis, also referred to as eigenvector transformation, Hotelling
transformation and Karhunen Loeve transformation in remote sensing, is a multivariate technique
[66] that is used to decrease dataset dimensionality. In this technique, the original remote sensing
dataset, which is a correlated variable, is distorted into a simpler dataset for analysis. This permits the
dataset to be uncorrelated variables representing the most significant information from the novel
[21]. The computation of the variance covariance matrix (C) of multiband images is expressed as:
Where M and X are the multiband image mean and individual pixel value vectors respectively, and n
is the number of pixels.

In change detection, there are two ways to relate PCA. The first method is counting two image
dates to a single file, and the second methods is subtracting the second image date from the
corresponding image of the first date after performing PCA individually. The disadvantages of PCA
can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Baronti, Carla [39] concerned PCA to examine the changes occurring in multi temporal
polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. They used association instead of a covariance
matrix in the transformation to condense gain variations that are introduced by the imaging system
and that provide weight to each polarization. In another example, Liu, Nishiyama [49] evaluated four
techniques, including image differencing, image ratioing, image regression and PCA, from a
mathematical perspective. They distinguished that standardized PCA achieved the greatest
performance for change detection. Standardized PCA is better than unstandardized PCA for change
detection because, if the images subjected to PCA are not calculated in the same scale, the
correlation matrix normalizes the data onto the same scale
American Baseball League
Baseball was, is and always will be to me the best game in the world. (Babe Ruth) Baseball is one
of America s favorite pastimes, with an avid following created around players and teams. Our
enthusiasm for baseball is also shared with other countries where baseball has spread. Japan and the
Dominican Republic both have professional baseballleagues. One of the ways these international
leagues work together is the exchange of players. This business has brought many foreign league
players to the United States. Within this exchange have been controversies about the ethicacy of the
player s payments and contracts. In the country where baseball is the most popular, even some of
migrant players get mistreated. In this paper, I will look at the... Show more content on

The first American baseball league was created, with help from the soldiers in the Civil War,
creating the National Association of Base Ball Players. From here, baseball in American only
continued to grow. As the popularity of baseball slowly emerged, more news stories turned away
from cricket to watch the growth of a new sport. At this time, only white men can be part of these
teams, a the same time, women could still not vote. Many countries didn t even have women s
leagues until fairly recently. Today, there are two major baseball leagues in America, the National
league and the American League, each with 15 teams. In 2014, Major League Baseball raked in 9
billion dollars in revenue. The American baseball craze has propelled the sales of tickets, gear, and
merchandise, upon which teams are capitalizing. Baseball has also evolved with our society.
Before segregation was banned, there were separate teams for African Americans. The leagues these
teams played under were called the Negro Leagues . Negro Leagues were first established alongside
other white leagues at the beginning of American baseball. Segregated teams and leagues continued
until the early 1950 s,

With well over 200 brands of vaporizers in the market, many with similar features, competition is
cutthroat and it can get daunting for most consumers to pick that one product which will offer the
ultimate vaping experience. In most cases, portability is achieved at the cost of performance and
ease of use takes a back seat to aesthetics. To put it simply, an optimal product that has achieved a
fine balance between all these factors is hard to find.

the 278 gms of the Firefly. However, the metallic construction means that this unit is built to last.
Flip the piece over and you will see the battery compartment, slide the cover to access it and insert
the battery in the way you would in a cell phone. With the battery in, the weight gets distributed

Filling the herb chamber: This is one of the distinctive advantages of using Firefly the ease with
which you can get your botanicals into the vaporizer. You will need to fine grind the herbs. If you
discount the time needed for this, you can go from loading to drawing in less than a minute. All
you have to do is open the magnetic lid and put the herbs in the chamber. You will see groves at the
side of the unit; lift the lid up and you will find the botanical chamber inside.
Do not pack in too tightly because you are dealing with a convection oven here. So, you need to
leave enough room for the hot air to enter the herb bowl and cook the botanicals before exiting
through the draw piece. The manufacturers recommend that you go with 0.2 gm but even 0.1 works
