Outstanding Educator Qualities
I am choosing to express my thoughts on what I believe to be the most essential qualities that an
outstanding educator should embody. There are three distinct qualities that I believe all excellent
teachers should possess these are, passion, collaboration, and adaptability. These three characteristics
used together create a rich, welcoming, and warm learning environment for which all students can
flourish. An outstanding teacher establishes a passion for teaching which is recognized and
internalized by the students. A high quality teacher, who is passionate about their work, strives to
engage students in instruction that is meaningful, interesting, and exciting. An outstanding instructor
shows their passion for teaching by establishing high expectations for their students and provides...

Teaching is not an individual profession, but rather a collaboration of professionals coming together
to achieve a single goal. A teacher must interact with staff, faculty, paraprofessionals, parents, and
most importantly students. An outstanding teacher will act with poise and maturity while
collaborating with the other team members. Collaboration is an essential aspect of teaching because
an outstanding teacher works together with the team members to better the instruction and learning
environment for the students. An outstanding teacher understands how to work together with the
other members of the team in a manner that is respectful and courteous to all other professionals.
The final feature that all outstanding educators emulate is adaptability. An excellent teacher
realizes that not all lessons will be executed as sharply as one may wish, but can modify the
lessons for future success. A teacher who is adaptable is a life long learner. The excellent teacher
will not be perfect, but will see their mistakes and failures as ways to better their teaching techniques.

The Valiant Five
The Famous Five, or Valiant Five, was not only made up of five strong, independent women, but
five role models. It started with Emily Murphy, a bright woman from Cookstown, Ontario, who
was determined to make a difference for women all over Canada. She enlisted four other activists,
Nellie McClung, Louise McKinney, Henrietta Edwards, and Irene Parlby, who would help her on
her journey to get women legally recognised as persons in Canada. Although the five made history
together, they each have very unique backstories and each of these women have helped to make a
significant difference in the lives of women for many years to come.
Emily Murphy was a women s rights activist and a feminist. She made history by becoming the first
female judge in Canada for the British Empire, which opened numerous opportunities for other
women. She challenged the idea that women were more than just housewives. Before this
movement, though, she was a writer, best known for her humour and great concern for the welfare
of women and children. After Murphy got married, her and her husband took a trip to the
countryside, where she encountered a women who had been left in poverty due to her husband
selling her family farm that she had been working on for some 18 years. Upon hearing this, Murphy

She was a political activist and as a feminist, she questioned the traditional roles of women. As a
school teacher, McClung didn t believe that certain sports were for men, and certain sports were for
women. She believed that sports were gender neutral and she wanted the students she taught to
believe in the same thing, so she would take them outside during recess and play football with
them, which was not seen as a sport for ladies at the time. Her views on gender roles pushed her to
speak out on the issue of equality. She decided to campaign on the topic of women suffrage and as a
result, women were able to vote in

The History Of Skateboarding

highest. Skateboard companies had competition with different types of skateboarding such as
slalom and freestyle skating. Woody Woodward and other great skaters led the way of new
skateboarders. Suddenly in 1965 skateboarding just sorta died. It was considered to be a fad that
came and went, skateboarding basically went away in a blink of an eye. Some people still skated
and continued making boards and make them better. One reason it faded was that the sport was

Now it was possible for skateboarding to make its comeback. Frank started the company Cadillac

skateboarding took a big hit when public parks that were build suffered from the huge insurance

Family Origin Theory In Anne Of Green Gables
Within the movie Anne of Green Gables there is a compelling demonstration of the Family
Origin theory. As Anne Shirley grows up and becomes married she is influenced by the parents
who adopted her. As she is adopted by Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert (who are siblings) when she
is eleven years old, she acquires attributes from each of them that are carried on throughout her
life. Although she was adopted as a young teenager she never truly had a family to begin with so
her adoption into this family became her Family of Origin. The boldness and directness Anne
developed came from her mother Marilla whereas her kind, giving, and hardworking attributes
came from her father Matthew. Her father Matthew created a memory in her life as he died when
she was only sixteen. This event impacted her life immensely as she tried to live like he would.
These qualities and memories carried over into her career as a teacher as well as into her marriage
with Gilbert Blythe.
The Family of Origin Theory impacts many individuals as they carry on the attributes found in the
family they originated from. According to the Figure 11.1 in the Marriages and Families textbook,
Anne s family would most likely be classified as a structurally connected family. This theory
encompasses everything from talents, attitudes, values, and their future relationships. Anne Shirley is
a good example of how her family influenced her behavior and choices as she grew older.
As a teacher Anne Shirley encountered many events where she exhibited kindness and courtesy
just as her father did. She gave respect even to the youngest of the students when they were bullied
and picked on during school as well as showing respect in disciplining the bully. She found value in
each of them just as Matthew Cuthbert had in those around him. Anne was also a bold and direct
teacher because of the discipline that came from her mother Marilla. She often stood up for her
students when they felt misunderstood or unwanted. Anne s Family of Origin allowed her to
become a better teacher because of her experiences in her family growing up.
As a young child growing up with Matthew and Marilla, Anne began life with a temper and couldn t
stop accusing others of hurting her and making

Essay On The Persuader
Imagine being stuck in a house, that felt more like a prison. Working for a dangerous man, where
making one wrong move will get you killed. This quarter, I have been reading The Persuader by
Lee Child. The main character, Jack Reacher, is an ex military cop, now a wandering lone wolf
searching for justice. Two DEA agents approach him with a situation: they had an agent on a case
who is now missing, but they can t open a case with the FBI because of legal issues. They know
that Reacher is adroit in combat and undercover operations, and he accepts their request. Jack
Reachernot only wants to help them but wants to find out why an old enemy that should be dead,
may be involved with the case. While reading Lee Childs The Persuader, I have been... Show more

Evaluating this style made me realize that his unique writing style made Reacher seem even more
like a real person. Right off the bat, I observed short, quick sentences showing Jack s thoughts.
Since he used to be in the military, he absorbs every little detail around him, predicting all of the
possible outcomes. An example can be shown in this quote: Duke went back to his car. It bounced
off the shoulder and straightened up. I followed him through the two miles. We killed our lights a
hundred yards short of the driveway and made the turn. Took it slow. There was some moonlight.
His fast and almost incomplete thoughts make him seem ready to react at any moment. While
making Reacher s character consistent, Lee Child also demonstrates thorough knowledge about
military technology topics. At one point in the book, Reacher uses an old school code to
communicate a secret message to someone. Also, with each weapon that comes up in the book,
Jack Reacher seems to have a deep understanding of all of them. This adds to making him seem
even more like a real character because of his military background, so he would obviously have to
know a lot about guns and other
Technology Development Life Cycle ( Tdlc )
Introduction When explaining the technology development life cycle (TDLC), it is necessary to
include the technology transfer process (TTP) and the funding sources that are out there.
Without discussing all three of these areas it would be difficult to understand how an idea for an
invention makes it to being a household item. The role of the TDLC is to show how a
technology develops during each of the five stages. The TTP shows how the technology
transitions between these stages when ownerships of the project changes. Lastly, where the
funding comes from and why investors stop investing. Technology Development Life Cycle The
TDLC consists of five steps: basic research, proof of concept, early stage technology development
(ESTD), product development, and production (Branscomb, 2002). These five steps help
illustrate what is required for a technology to go from its basic research stage to being put on the
market. In its early stages, the technology is used to develop an idea and prove that it can be done.
Take Graphene for example, the basic research of this technology would have included identifying
its properties to determine if it is a flexible material (Chaochen, Tao, Jiangang, Qinghua, Sen,
Haibin, Haimei, 2015). Then the proof of concept would be showing that graphene is a flexible
substance that can potentially be incorporated into devices to increase their durability (Chaochen, et.
al., 2015). The third step, ESTD, is where a business case would be made that
