Reflective Statement
As an individual there were many things that I have found out about myself through learning in
the process of working on the Business Plan. One of the strengths that I have found out about
myself is that I found myself capable of carrying out more than one task at the same time. Also
while I was doing my research on market analysis I found out that most of the information needed
is available on the internet which made it easier for me to write my report. I have also found out
that I tend to work better in a group because when i working in a group I know what tasks i need
to complete and also be able to discuss them with other group members to find out whether my
work is up to standards or not. However, I did find it quite difficult to... Show more content on

Since we only had 10 minutes to deliver the presentation, I personally rushing my words in order to
get the presentation finished on time and also to get my point across. therefore, I d like to recover
my time management skills in future by a few making certain. I have written down the most
significant information in the slide so I it will help me remember and by practicing the presentation.
As at the end of our presentation we give they audience a time limit of 3 minutes to ask questions.
This would be extremely beneficial as the more relevant information is given about a particular topic;
the more audience will get attracted and would want to focus in the presentation.
I suppose in general our presentation went pretty well as we was more familiar with what we were
talking about and we had good understanding about the charity. In the presentation, we had included
a video clip which I myself assume attracted the audience attention. I believe it was very helpful as at
the end of the presentation, a few people mentioned the video clip questioning us that how the
charity helped the woman in the video showing their concern in the
Unknown Mixtures Lab Report
Background:
Mixtures are combinations pure substances, thus their physical properties depend on their
composition. Physical properties of a pure substance include solubility, conductivity, and magnetism.
By exploiting unique properties of mixtures, it is possible to divide the mixture into its components.
This is done by physical change, such as filtration, evaporation, and crystallization.
Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to study the physical properties of salt, sand, and iron
and use this information to design and carry out a separation of an unknown mixture. The mass
percentage composition of the mixture can be calculated from the masses of the recovered
components.
Materials:
Iron Fillings ( Fe)
Salt (NaCl)
Sand (SiO2)
Magnet
Balance (Scale)
Distilled Water ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Iron is magnetic. In our lab, when we ran a magnet through the mystery mix, the iron jumped out
from the mix and clug to the magnet. We were able to sort out all of the iron using a magnet.
Magnetism is a physical property. The chemical make up stays the same. If it were a chemical
property, bonds would break: the the makeup of the material would change, but that was not the
case. The iron in our lab stayed the same.
5. The combination of salt and sand is a mixture. It is a physical combination with no fixed ratio. If
it were a compound, it would be a chemical combined elements in fixed ratios that could be
separated chemically only. In our lab, we were able to separate the different substances using
magnets, filters, and water, nothing chemical we used physical properties.
6. In our lab, when we carried out the process of filtration, the sand remained on the filter paper. The
filtrate is not a pure substance. We mixed water into the mixture and the salt dissolved that was our
filtrate. Therefore, the filtrate contains both water and salt, A pure substance is not mixed, the entire
sample is the same. Our filtrate was mixed. A homogenous mixture because there was no observable
Mayo Clinic Teamwork
I would definitely consider that the patient care groups at the Mayo Clinic to be teams and
teamwork is the key to their success. A team can be defined as a group of people who are
committed to a common purpose (p.341) and in Mayo Clinic the common goal for patient care
groups is to work as a team for the good of the patients. Mayo s team work culture initiated after the
catastrophic tornado in 1883, when the three Mayo doctors joined forces with the Sisters of Saint
Francis to create a new hospital. They recruited more physicians, hired technicians and business
managers and created one of the first group medical practices. Mayo has incorporated collaborative
methods into everything that it does, from diagnosis and surgery to policy making, strategic
planning, and leadership. The teamwork approach generated continuous staff interactions through
which Mayo physicians taught each other and developed a continuing interest in each other s
professional growth. Teamwork is part of the Mayo s culture. All clinic medical staff, including
doctors, nurses, and technicians, call each other consultants , this terminology reinforces the clinic s
sense... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Mayo clinic everybody knows that needs of the patient come first and all the staff trying to
achieve this goal. Strong patient provider relationship is the other benefits of team work which
improves communication, trust, and knowledge of patient contexts and preferences. Not only does a
strong patient provider relationship lead to improved patient satisfaction but it has also been
consistently linked with improved health behaviors and better health outcomes. Consultants know
that their recommendations will be rigorously questioned by team members and that this kind of
careful scrutiny will yield more accurate diagnoses and more effective
Comparing The Philosophies Of Michael Pollan And Raj Patel
The world continues to face a wide scale food crisis. The effects of this crisis reach from the
farmers who grow and raise the food to the very system of laws that are in place to govern the
system itself. Food giants are reaching deep into their pockets for lobbying in order to take
advantage of both the producers and the consumer all in the name of profit. Moreover, farmers are
being driven to suicide, and the ecosystem s livelihood is treading a fine line. Both Michael Pollan
and Raj Patel bring to light these problems and offer suggestions to help lessen their severity.
Though there are many philosophies on which they both agree, they both have their own ideas to
fight back. Pollan seeks to challenge the consumer as an individual while... Show more content on

The three contingencies of Patel s plan include changing the governing laws of agribusiness,
improving the conditions of and supporting rural areas, and changing the role of eating in society.
Before much progress can be made, the ways in which businesses are required to operate must
change. Without any new legislations to stand in their way, nothing will alter the ways in which
they operate or the ways they look to further solidify their dominance. Next, rural growers simply
need more help. In current conditions, they barely scrape by due to the increasing demands from
their purchasers and the decreasing amounts of compensation collected. Contrary to the original
perception, crop subsidies, most associated with corn, provide no help to these smaller farmers.
They can t compete with the mass growers and their enormous swathes of land. It drives the rural
farmers out of those particular markets, and it often prevents them from growing crops their land is
most suitable for. Finally, Pollan pushes the idea that there must be a revamp of the meaning of
food to consumers. As it stands, people view eating as a task rather than an enjoyable experience.
This leads the consumer to think little of the food, especially in ways Michael Pollan insist they
must think about the food. This anti cooking architecture of society is, nonetheless, a self
perpetuating cycle of

Nuremburg Laws Essay
One event that encouraged Anti Semitism and increased tensions leading up to Kristallnacht and
beyond was the announcement of the Nuremberg Laws in September of 1935. This set of laws
created by the Nazi party made sharp distinctions between the rights and privileges of Germans
and Jews (Sigward 291). This redefined citizenship in the Third Reich and laid the groundwork
for a racial state. For example, the Reich of Citizenship Law stripped Jews of their citizenship,
claiming they didn t have German blood (Sigward 291). Those of Jewish descent were denied the
right to vote and the ability to obtain a valid passport or visa to leave the country. This law
completely dehumanized Jews living in Germany and made them stateless, which caused those of
the Aryan race or pure German descent to feel superior. In the Nuremburg Laws, Article 5 of the
First Regulation to the Reich Citizenship Law defined a Jew as a descendant of three or more
Jewish grandparents or two Jewish parents (Sigward 293). These laws lead to the Jews being
persecuted for who they were, rather than the faith they believed during previous years. As a result of
these laws being carried out, German nationalism and Anti Semitism across the Reich increased
drastically . Nazi policies continued to be put in place against the Jews and increased tensions in the
Third Reich, eventually to the point that led to the violent attacks on Kristallnacht. This is
exemplified in the Fourth Decree under the Reich Citizenship Law,
Five Key Elements Of Kaizen
Kaizen is one of approaches for improving organization of performance. This term was coined in
Japan and meant a system of interrelated activities which lead to the improvement of the quality of
products, processes and management system. In the modern sense kaizen is a system of continuous
quality improvement, technologies, processes, corporate culture, productivity, reliability, leadership
and other aspects of the company.
The main focus of attention the system kaizen aims at quality of the staff, because it depends on the
quality of products and services. This system involves the process of improving each employee
from the head of the upper level, to an ordinary employee.
Everyone in the organization offers small improvements regularly. ... Show more content on

Regardless of whether the company manages to succeed in implementing the changes or not, staff
should strive to maintain high morale. Senior management should put into practice work different
motivational tools such as good working conditions, merit based system of incentives and rewards,
paid vacation, benefits and payment for medical services, the provision of loans to employees and
others.
The fourth element quality circles. This is one of the fundamental elements of kaizen. It s
necessary to organize the work of quality circles. The composition of these circles should include
workers at different levels. In the circles of quality employees have the opportunity to share ideas,
skills, technology and other important collaborative resources. Exchange of information and
cooperation within the framework of quality circles allow employees to assess the effectiveness of
their work on the basis of a comparison with the work of others, and thus try to improve their
performance.
The fifth element suggestions for improvement. It is important to give employees the freedom to
suggest improvements regardless of rank occupied in the company. The offers may be any, even
absurd, and they must all be taken into account and be
