Francis Ford Coppola s The Godfather
Oz on the list of greatest films ever made. Any person of any age can tell you that there is no
place like home. We hit on all types of films like Alfred Hitchcock s The Birds and Rear Window.
A film that I was really excited to get to was Francis Ford Coppola s The Godfather. The God
Father showed us the world of gangsters. A world filled with crime, violence, and more
importantly, the strength of family. Every time I am trying to get something I want, I make an offer
they can t refuse. I find myself researching films as soon as I complete them, or at times while the
filmis still playing. Any film, and most do, have some kind of link to history and I will seek it out.
I am a history nut, so I like to see how accurate the directors
The International Relations Theory That Best
The international relations theory that best explains Operation Provide Comfort would be the
constructivist theory. However, Turkey s involvement in the operation may also be explained
through subaltern realism. The fact that the nations that comprised the coalition, save for Turkey,
conducting Operation Provide Comfort went through the official channel of the UN shows that the
intention was to act within the norms of the international community for conducting humanitarian
interventions. Had the US decided to act unilaterally, without permission from the other states
involved or the UN, it strongly indicate that the US self interests superseded those of the global
community. Furthermore, the coalition of western powers respected Turkey s sovereignty by
keeping the refugees at the border and providing aid in refugee camps there. Respecting a nations
sovereignty, or giving reasonable cause for violating it, is an essential portion of constructivism as it
indicates that states respect the artificially implemented restraints on themselves that they have set
up. Beyond the evidence that strongly suggests that OPC was conducted in the sphere of
constructivism, there is little evidence that would support any other international relations theory. In
a constructivists perspective, the mission devolved from an international system based operation to a
more realists military intervention when it became Operation Norther Watch (to compliment
Operation Southern Watch.) This idea is
Paid Tribute To Viennese Waltzes By Maurice Ravel
Maurice Ravel was intrigued with the Viennese waltz, which came to symbolize joyfulness in
Austria. Ravel paid tribute to Viennese waltzes. It took him awhile to finish composing La Valse
because of WWI. By the time the war ended, the feelings around the waltz had changed. It was less
joyful. Ravel composed an almost ominous piece that reflected the change. La Valse begins on a low
note, but higher playful tones come in. It sounds like a waltz in the beginning; it has ascending and
descending notes with a beat. Then after a few moments, La Valse becomes more dramatic sounding.
Drums and other instruments add a strong and loud sound to the music. Towards the end of La Valse,
the music becomes dark and ominous. It is loud and a low tone.
Margaret Sanger s Stand Up For Birth Control Rights
Imagine being a married woman in your 30 s during the beginning of the twentieth century. You are
worn out from giving birth multiple times and you are desperate to know of a way to prevent
yourself from having more children. This was the exact case for millions of women in the twentieth
century. Women had no rights as a person, nor did they have any rights to their own bodies. In this
era, the topics of sexuality, sex or birth controlwere all taboo subject matters and never discussed
between married or un married couples. It wasn t until the year of 1912 that a woman by the name
of Margaret Sangerstarted her crusade to promote the right for women to use contraceptives to
prevent unwanted pregnancies. In this essay, I will discuss what inspired Margaret Sanger to
stand up for birth control rights. I will also explore the trials and legal issues that Sanger came up
against. Lastly, I will talk about the victory and the difference Sanger made for women in the
twentieth century. Margaret Louise Higgins (Sanger was her married name) was born in the year
of 1879 in Corning, New York. She was sixth of eleven children and was born into an Irish
American family. Margaret knew at a very young age that she wanted to make a difference to
empower women and to leave her mark on the world. Margaret was first inspired to go into the
nursing field after witnessing her own mother die at the young age of forty from tuberculosis (TB).
Margaret s mother endured eighteen pregnancies but, she
Essay On The Death Penalty Violates The 8th Amendment
Death penalty violates the eighth constitutional amendment. Death is both unusually severe
punishments, unusual in pain, in its enormity and its finality. It does not serve as a penal purpose
effectively but a less severe punishment. The constitutional infirmity in the death punishment is that
it treats human race members as nonhumans and as objects that need to be toyed with and discarded.
It is thus not in consistent with the fundamental premise of the Clause that even the criminal who is
the vilest still remain a human being possessed of common human dignity. Death penalty, therefore,
subjects human beings to a fate that is forbidden by the principle of civilized treatment that is
guaranteed by the clause. It is, therefore, clear that according to this clause, death today is cruel and
unusual... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is cruel to kill a person no matter how horrible the crime they committed is. It shows people that
if you do something, the same will be done to you, it is an eye for an eye. This type of justice is
completely wrong. The punishment should be geared not only towards scaring others from
committing a similar crime, but also to correct the offender and reintegrate him/her back to the
society. Therefore, punishment by death does not achieve this objective in any way.
Death penalty is also unconstitutional and an obvious violation of the 8th amendment because there
are other better ways of punishing someone rather than killing. Death penalty does not solve the
crime, fix problems caused by the crime or teach anyone a lesson. It is just a killing for the sake of
killing (Bessler, 2012).The federal government, therefore, should work with state government and
abolish this kind of punishment. The aim of punishment is so as to correct a person and deter him
/her from committing a crime in future. Punishing by death does not achieve this objective and
should be banned
My Crown Princess Short Story
You look gorgeous, My Lady! Absolutely beautiful! I have never seen such beauty like you in all
the Seven Kingdoms, Lady Kang. Perfectly fitting for the next Crown Princess. My Crown Princess
Seulgi broke out of her trance blanking out into the distance as the plump, cheeky seamstress claps
her clammy hands excitedly in childish giggles.

Glancing at her reflection in the silver plated mirror on her wall, she is dolled up in an off the
shoulder lilac lace and tulle gown that was tightened up by a applique corset around her waist before
it expanded into an organza ball gown that made her nothing but enchanting and the belle of the ball.

Twirling around, the gown s sparkling embroidered beads gleamed against the light, giving the
illusion that the auroral, beaming stars in the sky shone against the dark, late evening horizon in her
gown.

Crumpling her willowy fingers into the thin layer of taffeta on her gown, Seulgi cannot help but
frown in discomfort and uneasiness as much as she had loved dressing up for the role she had
prepared and desired for all her life, it all felt wrong.

You look unhappy, dear cousin. That is not usually you when it comes to these matters.

The teasing tone of her cousin, Min Yoongi, instantly prompts her to roll her eyes at him as she
steps down the timbered platform that elevated her up for her dress fitting. He appears from the
shadows of her decorated room, with his hands tucked in his pockets in a black and white floral coat

Security versus Liberty in the US Fight Against Terror Essay
It is now 64 years since George Orwell released the famous futuristic novel 1984 . In the book he
describes a frightening society with omnipresent government surveillance. Big Brother is watching
you. His novel has never been more relevant than after the war against terror gave the government
reason to increase the surveillance. The war against terror is bringing us closer to Orwells
dystopian society. Do we have to pay this high price to win the war against terror?

After 9/11, the USA and the rest of the world were in shock. To keep the American people calm the
government had to act fast. On the same day as the attack of the Twin Towers, President George W.
Bush declared war on terrorism. On October the 26th 2001, the USA Patriot Act ... Show more

The Patriot Act gave the FBI mandate to search without warrant, eavesdrop and detain and deport
terrorism suspects. Despite all this effort the US once again experienced terror attacks in 2011 as the
Tsarnev brothers executed the Boston Marathon bombings, killing 3 and injuring 264 people.
Investigations showed that these radical Islamists had been under the radar for quite some time.
They had even been warned by the Russian Federal Security Service about the Chechen brothers
turning towards radicalism. (2013, Wikipedia)

The result of this was that the President gave more powers to the FBI, once again weakening the
principals of the Rechtsstaat. The FBI could now arrest and interrogate without reading them their
rights as well as interviewing witnesses without identifying themselves as FBI agents. The
government is gradually sacrificing liberty in the fight against terror. It looks like the liberty will
lose more and more terrain in the years to come. (2013)

In April 2005, Americans were asked whether they thought the Patriot Act went too far or not. The
result was surprising, 30% of the people asked thought that the Act gave the government too much
power, while 41% believed that it did not. The poll also showed that the people who knew a lot
about the Patriot Act mostly believed that it went too far, 45%, 37 % said about right and 17% did not
