Summary Of The Diary Of A Young Girl By Anne Frank
. . . if only there were no other people in the world.
Tuesday, August 1, 1944, Annelies (Anne) Marie Frank wrote her last entry of her diary. Little did
she know, her last written words would send a chilling message to all those who read her story in
remembrance of her. Being only 16 years old when she died in the Bergen Belsen concentration camp
in Germany, Anne was one of nearly 6 million people who were killed in the systematic execution
of Jews under Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler. For my summer reading project, I chose to read The
Diary of a Young Girl , which is the definitive edition of her diary that she kept for two years as she
neared the day of her family s captivity on August 4, 1944.

Over the summer, I visited the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust in California and read upon
the statistics of the amount of Jews killed under Hitler s beliefs. The museum was established in
1961 by Holocaust survivors and is devoted towards never forgetting the unbelievable tragedy. I
chose to write my report on how I believed Anne Frank would continue on with her life if she had
survived. While I was reading, I was astonished at how she worded such simple tasks, and the
mind of a young girl, going through what so many had suffered and endured. I find it fascinating
how her mind worked so intricately and the details she noted after common things such as
arguments, and failure. Living with seven other people with different characteristics and
mindsets, Anne wrote down every single aspect of her days and gave an insight as to what life
was like in the hidden annex where eight total Jews had hid for over two years. She did all of this
because she longed for someone who shared the same interests and understanding. However, after
reading her diary, I believe I am one of the many people who were left wondering what Annelies
Marie Frank would do with her life if she were to survive the dastardly event of the Holocaust.

In many accounts of Anne s diary, she expresses her feelings in deeper matters than today s
generation would handle such emotions. Whether it s texting a friend, or raving on about something
or someone you dislike, nowadays people tend to look on the downside of things and always seek
messages and

world. Alexander the Great to JFK, everyone has a story. Non fiction is used in movies, books,

The Negative Impact Of The Stock Market Crash Of 1929
A turning point is a point at which a significant change occurs. In United States history, there has
been many turning points which have dramatically impacted the development of the
nation.Beginning on October 29, 1929, there was a stock market crash in the United States which
was a significant turning point because it halted the considerable economic success from the
roaring 1920s, leading to a nationwide depression. This event took place during the presidency of
Herbert Hoover, and it resulted in a drastic change of the United States political, economic, and
social structure. This event also spurred the interest of many political figures to try to save the
economy including Franklin Delano Roosevelt who issued many reforms for the protection of the
people and to restore the vitality of the nation. The Stock Market Crash of 1929 was a major
turning point in United States History because it represented the negative impacts of the changes
derived from the roaring 20 s, and the events that occurred after this event strongly impacted the
structure of society leading up to today. There were many historical circumstances that caused the
failure of the stock market in 1929. One of the major reasons for this collapse was speculation and
irrational exuberance of the stock market in the 1920s. The stock market boosted the confidence of
many individuals in the United States for gaining tremendous wealth because of its growing success
in the economy. Therefore, many people placed
Characteristics of the Amphioctopus Marginatus Essay
The Amphioctopus Marginatus is of the Kingdom Animalia because like other members of this
kingdom, it is both multicellular and is a heterotroph. This species is also part of the phylum
Mollusca because like other mollusks, it has a coelom, (letter B on the first phylogeny tree), a
visceral body mass, and a mantle (letter C). Furthermore, because it is not part of the phylum
Chordata, it does not have the notochord (letter A) (Doc 2). It is of the class Cephalopoda, because
like other members of this class, such as Asteroceras Confusum, the Marginatus has a merged head
and foot (letter F), a siphon (letter D), and a ring of tentacles (letter E) surrounding the head (Doc
1). As a member of the order Octopoda, this species has eight arms... Show more content on

The dark veins, suggest a convergent evolution because no other species in the genus show these
lines but other sea floor dwelling animals such as the tasseled angler fish use branched veins to
camouflage themselves (Doc 6). The second phylogeny tree shows a closer view at the relationship
between members of the family Octopodidae who all have arms that unite at the base of the mantle
(letter A). Both the sub Family of Bathypolypodinae and the Eledoninae have poisonous venom
(letter B) (Doc 8). The Bathypolypodiane also have extensive membrane connecting their
tentacles (letter C). The Benthoctopus and Bathypolypus both do not have an ink sac (letter D)
unlike the Teretoctopus (Doc 6). The Letter E represents a small body size something that is
common in both the Arcticus and Valdiviae (Doc 6). The Bathypolypus Arcticus has a relatively
large lifespan six years (letter F) unlike the Valdiviae which live for approximately one to three
years (Doc 4). The letter G represents a differently shaped Hectocotylus found only in the
Bathypolypus Valdiviae (Doc 9). The letter H represents the presence of conical papillae (Doc 1).
The letter I represents the presence of poisonous venom which is found in the genus Hapalochaena
and can be deadly (Doc 7). The letter J represents large eggs something that is common only to the
members of the genus Ameloctopus (Doc 2). The letter K represents a deep lateral and a short

Hence, a diversified business operation insulates business risk. However, despite both companies
having a well diversified product portfolio, one can observe that there are some differences
between the two in terms of their products. As mentioned above, Mars has been extending their
main product line chocolate and introducing new product lines by penetrating into new industries
(e.g. drinks, petcare, nutritious products). Moreover, Mars also penetrated into the chewing gum
industry by acquiring Wrigley in 2008, one of the leading confectionery companies in the world
with a wide product range. This acquisition, being one of the key success factors of Mars,
strengthened and diversified Mars confectionery business, as well as increased its growth potential
in the chocolate, non chocolate confectionery and gum categories. Since Wrigley has worldwide
presence, this acquisition enabled the company to expand its operations and increase its market
presence. Furthermore, Wrigley s leading position and strong brand portfolio enabled Mars to
become one of the world s leading chewing gum manufacturers. Ferrero, however, has been mainly
focusing on extending their main product line Chocolate and did not diversify their products in the
same way as Mars did. Hence, based on these observations, one can deduce that Mars is
What Makes Warren Buffett Successful
Success can be measured in many ways, not the least is ones net worth. Money is certainly a
driving factor for many in business and if used as an indicator of success, Warren Buffett
unquestionably would rank among the most accomplished. Born during the depression in 1930,
Buffett started out selling chewing gum and Coca Cola door to door, later finding work in his
grandfather s grocery store. Investing his savings, Buffett now serves as the chief executive
officer (CEO) of a multinational conglomerate called Berkshire Hathaway. Among the more well
known company s held by Berkshire are GEICO, Heinz, Coca Cola and American Express. With a
market capitalization of $314 billion, Berkshire is now America s fifth most valuable public
company, behind Apple, Exxon Mobil, Google and Microsoft. Managing of company of this size
would be a daunting task for many, but Buffett has made it abundantly clear in both his own words
and those who have studied his success, the key lies in good leadership. According to Buffett, a good
leader must have a keen understanding of the industry he leads; strong character and integrity is
vital, and lastly, a good leader must have a profound understanding human nature. Buffett hand picks
his managers and trusts them to administer company affairs. Buffet has surrounded himself with
likeminded managers and the results have been impressive. In his annual letter to the shareholders of
Berkshire, Buffett communicates his vision and gives
Conformity In The American School System
As both the standards of school work and stress levels of student s rise, the American school system
remains unaltered, unchanged, and unaffected for over a hundred years. School is an institution that
can serve as a massive gate in life granting you access to a job, stability, and a future or it can become
a giant pillar in the way of everything you wish to achieve. While we recognize that a student s own
motivation, study habits, and will to learn, are cardinal in any schooling system, we must also
understand the issues with an institution that is fundamentally unsound from the ground up. In today
s world, students are shoved with the hands of docility, and amenability as they render themselves in
a system that has inadvertently failed them, by neglecting to celebrate their differences, and varying
learning patterns. Conformity in the educationsystem has shown to damage the personalization and...

With the added pressure to do well in school, standardized testing becomes a means to added stress,
anxiety and further complicates the pressure to succeed in a student s life. Rather than a focus on
learning and understanding, school has become a massive rope skill memorization test designed to
have students memorize subjects to pass the test, and forget the material the next minute for the
next test. When asked to speak about standardized testing, education chairman, Larry Taylor, said It
s heart wrenching, and it s also insanity when you see the level of achievement these kids are
already doing and yet they can t even pass this test. (Smith). The utilization of standardized testing
further exemplifies and validates the idea that no matter how hard or long you work in school, your
work will never be worth the few answers you write for the

was to obtain a college degree. She received her Master s Degree from Wright State University
then received her PhD from the University of California. Sumita briefly mentions a movie she once
