Celebrating Women in Our Community: Lovely Venia M.
Joven
Some people teach, and some people truly make an impact.
Lovely Venia M. Joven is one of those rare e ducators
whose influence extends far beyond the walls of a
classroom. Her unwavering dedication to her students,
colleagues, and the entire school community has made her
an inspiration to many.
Miss Lovely wears many hats, and she wears them all with
passion. As the editor of the school paper, she empowers
students to find their voices, express their thoughts, and
tackle real-world issues through writing. Under her
guidance, young journalists develop critical thinking skills,
learn the importance of responsible reporting, and build
confidence in sharing their ideas with the world. She
doesn’t just edit articles—she nurtures future storytellers
and changemakers.
Her love for education doesn’t stop there. As the coach of the Technolympics team, she helps
students sharpen their technological skills and tackle innovative challenges, preparing them for
regional competitions. Through her mentorship, students gain hands-on experience in problem-
solving, creativity, and teamwork—valuable skills in today’s fast-paced digital world. She sees
potential in every student and pushes them to aim higher, proving that technology is not just about
machines and codes but about shaping the future.
Miss Lovely also has a deep-rooted passion for reading and literacy. Leading the school's Read-a-
thon program, she fosters a love of books among students, encouraging them to explore new worlds
through literature. More than just organizing reading challenges, she makes sure that every student—
whether a reluctant reader or a bookworm—feels seen, supported, and inspired. Her efforts have
helped students build confidence in their reading skills, and many have even gone on to compete in
regional contests, opening doors to scholarships and academic opportunities.
But what makes Miss Lovely truly remarkable is that her dedication doesn’t end when the school
year does. Every summer, instead of taking a well-deserved break, she volunteers to teach in a
kindergarten class, helping young learners build a strong foundation in reading, writing, and social
skills. She patiently guides them through their first experiences in a classroom setting, ensuring that
they start their educational journey with excitement and confidence. For many of these children, she
is their very first teacher—the one who sparks their curiosity and love for learning.
Her impact goes beyond just students—it touches entire families and the community as a whole. By
equipping children with knowledge, skills, and self-belief, she creates a ripple effect of
empowerment and opportunity. Parents see their children grow, not just academically but in
character, and they know that Miss Lovely has played a crucial role in that transformation.
Her passion, selflessness, and unwavering commitment make her an irreplaceable asset to the school
and a role model for her peers. She is more than an educator; she is a mentor, a leader, and a beacon
of hope for so many.
Today, as we celebrate Miss Lovely and the incredible work she does, we also take a moment to
honor all the women in our community who tirelessly shape the future, often without recognition.
Their dedication, resilience, and quiet acts of kindness make the world a better place—one student,
one lesson, and one life at a time.

Celebrating Women in Our Community: A Scout is Always a Girl Scout
In every community, there are women whose dedication and service leave a lasting impact. One such
inspiring figure is Miss Joyca Kitongan Mariano, who has lived 60 years in the spirit of
Scouting. Even after retiring as a teacher, she remains committed to shaping young minds, visiting
schools to mentor troop leaders and Girl Scouts. She always says, “Making a difference in one's
life starts when they are still trying to discover the beauty of life.”
Her journey in Scouting is a testament to the idea that a Scout is always a Girl Scout. The values of
leadership, service, and lifelong learning are not confined to youth; they continue to shine through
the women who guide and inspire future generations.
Beyond training troop leaders and Scouts, Miss Mariano passionately advocates for every girl in
every community to join and experience the significance of Scouting. She believes that through
Scouting, young girls gain the confidence, skills, and values that will shape them into strong,
responsible leaders of tomorrow.
Aside from teaching the Scout Promise and Law, she instills essential life skills such as social
graces and etiquette, handy crafts, cooking, and nature exploration. She places a strong
emphasis on teaching young girls how to behave with respect, kindness, and confidence in
different social settings, ensuring they grow into well-mannered and responsible individuals.
Miss Mariano’s unwavering passion reminds us that true service has no retirement. Through her
dedication, she ensures that the principles of courage, confidence, and character live on in the
hearts of young girls who will one day follow in her footsteps.
Today, we honor Miss Joyca Kitongan Mariano and all the women in our community who embody
the spirit of Girl Scouting—proving that once a Girl Scout, always a Girl Scout
