Sevens

Sevens is a dice game where players aim to achieve the highest score over a set number of rounds using six 6-sided dice. Players roll the dice, remove pairs that total seven, and can either keep their score or roll again up to three times per turn. The game continues with players taking turns in a structured manner, with the first player's roll limit determining the maximum for all subsequent players in that round.

Riffle Shuffle & Roll: How to Play Sevens | dice games

Objective
To have the highest total score after a predetermined number of rounds.

Setup
Equipment: Six 6-sided dice and a way to keep score.
Game Length: Before starting, players must decide how many rounds
the game will last.

Gameplay Rules
A Player's Turn:

1. Initial Roll: Roll all six dice.

2. Remove Sevens: You must remove all pairs of dice that add up to 7
(e.g., 1+6, 2+5, 3+4).
3. Score or Roll Again: After removing the sevens, calculate the sum of
the remaining dice. You have a choice:
Stop: Keep this total as your score for the round. Your turn ends.
Roll Again: Pick up the remaining dice and roll them again. You
can do this for a maximum of three total rolls per turn.
4. Final Score: If you choose to roll again, your new result replaces your
previous one. You must take the score from your final roll.

Round Structure:

Setting the Roll Limit: The number of rolls the first player takes in a
round (1, 2, or 3) becomes the maximum number of rolls for all other
players in that same round.
Starting a New Round: The player to the left of the person who
started the previous round goes first in the new round.
