● How to set up 2FA -
Step 1 - Open your Webmail
Step 2 - Go to Settings
Step 3 - Interface like this will open, select 2- Factor
Authentication
Step 4 - Click on the Activate checkbox and by doing
so your secret, recovery codes will get generated
automatically.
Step 5 - Download an application to enable 2FA -
❖ To Download the Application, Go to Google Play
Store and Install Google Authenticator on your
Phone
❖ To start the application tap on the get started
button -
Step 6 - In the next step you have to Scan the given QR
on your phone on Google Authenticator Application.
To scan tap on Scan QR Code -
Step 7 - After Scanning the QR a code will appear on
your Authenticator App, You have to Fill the code here
Step 8 - To test the code generated by google
authenticator , enter the 6 digit code in the input box.
Step 9 - Now to activate the 2FA Save the setting by
pressing the save button. And logout from webmail.
Step 10 - Again Login with your user credentials
Step 11 - After Hitting Login, again an Interface will
appear which will prompt you 2-Factor
Authentication Code.
Step 12 - Check Authenticator App on your phone, a
code will appear on it for short duration, Enter the code
in above 2-Factor Authentication code field and click
on Proceed:
NOTE - If you take longer time to enter the code in the
input box . Login failed message will displayed.
After hitting Proceed, your webmail will get open with
one Extra Layer of Security .
● Is 2FA actually secure?
Yes, two-factor authentication is very secure. No login
method is completely foolproof, but 2FA makes you much
safer against data leaks and hacking attempts. If hackers
learn that your 2FA is enabled, they’ll likely move on
elsewhere, leaving your account secure.
