Group 4 - Earth Science Script

All- A pleasant day everyone! especially to miss Alery. Standing in front of you are the group 4,
today we are going to present our poster.

James- As you can see, what we drew here are the factors and characteristics that makes our
Earth sustainable and a living planet. Let us first discuss the factors.

Zyrah- We have here the Temperature. Earth has a temperature range that allows water to
remain in its liquid state, which is essential for all known forms of life. This is made possible by
its distance from the Sun—often called the “Goldilocks zone”—where it's not too hot and not
too cold. This suitable temperature supports metabolic processes in living organisms and helps
maintain a stable climate.

Gian- Next is Atmosphere. Earth’s atmosphere is a protective layer of gases that supports life in
many ways. It contains oxygen for animals to breathe, carbon dioxide for plants to
photosynthesize, and nitrogen as a key component of proteins. It also shields the planet from
harmful solar radiation and helps regulate temperature by trapping heat (the greenhouse
effect).

Jennylou- Energy. The Sun provides most of the energy needed for life on Earth. Plants, algae,
and some bacteria use sunlight to make food through photosynthesis, forming the base of the
food chain. Additionally, some organisms can use chemical energy from sources like deep-sea
vents, proving that life can exist even without sunlight.

Queen- Lastly is Nutrients. Life depends on the continuous cycling of nutrients like carbon,
nitrogen, and phosphorus. These elements are the building blocks of cells and are recycled
through processes like decomposition, respiration, and nitrogen fixation. Without these
nutrient cycles, ecosystems would run out of essential materials for growth and survival.
Beah- Now, let's move to the characteristics. First is Biodiversity. Earth is home to a vast variety
of life forms—animals, plants, fungi, and microorganisms—all contributing to ecosystem health.
Biodiversity increases resilience and stability because different species perform different roles,
such as pollination, decomposition, and disease control.

Shanile- Next is Ecosystems. An ecosystem is a community where living (biotic) and non-living
(abiotic) components interact. Examples include forests, oceans, and deserts. These systems
recycle nutrients, regulate water and air quality, and support countless life forms by
maintaining a balance between organisms and their environment.

Salet. Lastly, we have Adaptability. Life on Earth is capable of evolving and adjusting to changes
over time. Species adapt to shifts in climate, availability of resources, or environmental
conditions. This adaptability allows life to persist even when conditions become challenging or
unpredictable.

All- Together, these factors and characteristics create a stable, nurturing environment where
life can begin, evolve, and continue to flourish.
