1. Sample Recount Text
Title: My Independence Day Experience
Orientation:
Last August 17th, my school celebrated Indonesia’s Independence Day. The event was
held in the school yard and all students wore red and white clothes.
Events:
In the morning, we had a flag ceremony. I felt proud when the flag was raised and we
sang the national anthem together. After the ceremony, we had some traditional games
like sack race, eating crackers, and tug of war. I joined the sack race and it was so fun
even though I fell once. My team also won the tug of war!

my friends made me feel more grateful to be Indonesian.
