Q: Rainfall and its type

A: Rainfall occurs when water vapor in the atmosphere condenses into droplets and falls due to

gravity. Types include:

1. Convectional Rainfall

2. Orographic Rainfall

3. Cyclonic/Frontal Rainfall.

Q: Water cycle

A: The water cycle involves evaporation, condensation, precipitation, infiltration, runoff, and

transpiration. It is a continuous movement of water on, above, and below the surface of the Earth.

Q: Transpiration

A: Transpiration is the process by which water is absorbed by plant roots, moves through plants,

and evaporates from leaves into the atmosphere.

Q: Infiltration

A: Infiltration is the process by which water on the ground surface enters the soil. It helps recharge

groundwater and prevents surface runoff.

Q: Best book for map for UPSC exam

A: 1. Oxford School Atlas (most recommended)

2. Orient BlackSwan Atlas (alternative)
