COURSE OBJECTIVES:
 To introduce students to various literary genres like the Modern Novel and One Act Play.
 To familiarize students with William Golding's use of allegory and symbolism in Lord of the Flies.
 To introduce students to McKinnel’s use of one-act drama to effectively present moral dilemmas in The Bishop's Candlesticks.
 To enable students to understand how the dramatic tension and the structure of The Bishop's Candlestick conveys themes of
compassion and societal reform.
 To enable students to write clear, engaging, and informative articles, reports, and reviews, suitable for various media
platforms.
 To sensitize students towards journalistic principles and ethical considerations in producing media content.

COURSE OUTCOME:
 Students will have developed an understanding of the stylistic and narrative technique of the modernist Novel and One Act
Play.
 Students will have understood the art of allegory and symbolism in Lord of the Flies.
 Students will be able to analyze characters' gradual descent into savagery in Lord of the Flies within the context of modernist
literature.
 Students will have understood McKinnel’s use of one-act drama to effectively present moral dilemmas in The Bishop's
Candlesticks.
 Students will be able to appreciate how the dramatic tension and structure of The Bishop's Candlesticks convey themes of
compassion and societal reform.
 Students will have developed skills in drafting articles, reports, and reviews suitable for diverse media outlets.
 Students will be able to apply journalistic norms and ethical standards in producing media content.
