Nawal - Physics Motion HW

The document contains a series of physics problems related to motion, specifically focusing on acceleration, distance, and velocity calculations. It includes scenarios involving constant acceleration from rest, changes in speed, and the effects of gravity on falling objects. Each problem requires the application of kinematic equations to find the desired quantities.

1. A body is accelerating at a constant rate of 10m/s2.

If the body starts from rest, how

much distance will it cover in 2 seconds?
2. An object undergoes an acceleration of 8m/s2 starting from rest. Find the distance
travelled in 1 second.
3. A ship is moving at a speed of 56km/h. One second later, it is moving at 58km/h.
What is its acceleration?
4. A train starting from rest attains a velocity of 72 km/h in 5 minutes. Assuming that
the acceleration is uniform, find (i) the acceleration and (ii) the distance travelled by
train for attaining this velocity.
5. A train accelerates from 36 km/h to 54 km/h in 10 sec.
(i) Acceleration
(ii) The distance travelled by car.
6. A train starts from rest and accelerates uniformly at the rate of 5 m/s 2 for 5 sec.
Calculate the velocity of train in 5 sec.
7. An object dropped from a cli falls with a constant acceleration of 10 m/s2. Find its
speed 5 s after it was dropped.
