Interlanguage

Interlanguage is a linguistic system used2” by second language learners. Learners are prone to create
this language when they are trying to communicate in the target language. Interlanguage is highle
affected by learner’s native language because learners mostly use their native language knowledge
when they are trying to understand the second language. However, interlanguage is different from
both learner’s native language and the targeted second language. It is mostly unique from speaker to
speaker. For example, learner can say “ I no swim”

Fossilization

And now, i am going to explain what fossilization is, and then i will give some fossilization examples.
Well, fossiliation is, when the learner becomes unable to learn the new linguistic items or rules
because of the previous errors. For example many students say “ I goes to the school.” Or I am go to
the Bathroom.” In these usages, you can understand that students might get confused with some
grammar structures, and not correcting the mistakes can end the situations with fossilization.

When we come to central processes, there are five central processes here,

First one is Language Transfer: For example, the English word "house" is similar to the German word
"Haus." As a result, English speakers may find it easier to learn German vocabulary because of the
similarities between the two languages.

Second one is Transfer of Training: “He treated me nicelyly.” In this sentence, if the teacher says
repeatedly that an adjective plus ‘-ly’ equals an adverb, the learner might get confused with the rule
and make such sentence as “He treated me nicelyly.”

Third one is Strategies of second language learning: She sings songs ever day. This sentence is not
correct because the verb “sing” is intransitive and does not require a direct object.

Fourth one is Strategies of second language communication: I was in France when he call me. In this
sentence, you can see that the verb form is not correct one.

And the last one, fifth , is Overgeneralization: What did you wanted to talk about? In this sentence
the past tense morpheme –ed is used even though the sentence form is question form.
