MODULE 5: LESSON 2

How to Stay Consistent &

Engaged, Long-Term

“The more you praise and celebrate your life,

the more there is in life to celebrate.”

— OPRAH WINFREY

Lesson Recap
In this Fun Sheet, you’re going to learn how to put into practice your Daily
WINS and Weekly Review. These two tools are the force multipliers of Time
Genius and will help you get way more done with the same amount of effort.

• Motivation — like all feelings — can be fleeting. That’s why Time Geniuses
put commitments, tools, and processes in place to perform at our best
regardless of fickle emotions.

• Consistency is better than motivation. It means you’ve got the emotional

maturity and self-respect to keep your word with YOU, because your
dreams are worth it.

• If you’ve selected the right goal in the first place — one that matters
deeply to your heart and soul — motivation becomes essentially
irrelevant. You’re intrinsically driven.

FUN SHEET

• Time Geniuses evaluate their performance regularly in order to build

confidence and become the best at what they do.

• Time Genius Daily WINS is a quick, 3-minute self-assessment tool to stay

consistent and engaged long-term by building on your strengths and
solving problems in real-time.

• Our brains are wired toward negativity bias. We tend to focus on what
didn’t go well. Writing down and celebrating wins keeps you motivated
and rewires your brain so over time, it becomes easier to stay on track
with goals.

• Time Genius Weekly Review is a 20-minute process to review the past

week, celebrate what you accomplished, and get yourself set up for
the week ahead. Doing it on Fridays, when most people are fried and
unfocused, is a great way to turn “wasted time” into the most productive
time of the week.

How to Use This Fun Sheet:

1) This Fun Sheet is editable, which means you can type your
work right into the document and save your changes. You’ll
need a PDF reader to do this. We recommend Adobe Acrobat
Reader (grab it for free here).

2) Open your Fun Sheet in Adobe Acrobat Reader before you

begin. Type a few words into a field, hit save, close the PDF,
then reopen to check that your work has officially been saved.

3) Just because you can save your work in the PDF doesn’t mean
you have to. You can also use this as a guide for writing in your
journal or print it out and complete it by hand!

1 Complete Your Time Genius Daily Wins

Let’s walk through how to do your Daily WINS. The goal is to create a clear
record that reinforces the positive decisions, behaviors, and action steps you
took throughout the day. By evaluating your performance, you build strengths,
make improvements, and stay consistently focused on what matters most.

Feeling resistance? Push through. Keeping a Daily WINS log will:

→ Retrain your mind to have a high-performance mentality

→ Put growth and improvement on virtual autopilot
→ Catch and solve small problems quickly, way before you get taken off track
→ Help you habitualize making tomorrow’s success plan, today

Here’s a quick overview of the process and some guidelines:

STEP 1: W → C E L E B R AT E YO U R W I N S

Ask yourself, “What are 3 specific wins from today? What did I do WELL? Where
specifically did I show up, make a great effort, and focus on what matters most?”

Be as specific and concrete as possible. Details make the difference!

Example:

“I took a walk”

“When I got stuck on my writing and felt

tempted to open my email, instead I took a
10-minute walk to clear my head.”

STEP 2: I → I MPROVE

Ask yourself, “Was there an issue or problem that tripped me up today in terms
of staying in the Time Genius Zone? What’s one improvement that’ll make
tomorrow even better?”

Mentally review your day and write down one solvable issue or problem. Don’t
overthink this.

Example: “I got cranky, snapped at my partner, and got totally derailed by email
around 11am. I bet my blood sugar was low because I forgot to eat breakfast.”

Then answer the question, “What’s one improvement that’ll make tomorrow even
better?” with a simple, doable action step:

Example: “I’ll set an alarm for 10:30am and have a snack so my blood sugar
doesn’t get low.”

STEP 3: N → N EXT ACTION

Ask yourself, “What next action can I take right now to make that improvement?”

Example: “I’m setting a recurring alarm at 10:30am on weekdays and putting a

bag of walnuts at my desk RIGHT NOW.”

STEP 4: S → S E T YO U R S E L F U P TO W I N TO M O R R OW

Ask yourself:

Have I completed tomorrow’s success plan?”

(Review calendar, schedule Focus Blocks)

“Have I done my Mise en Place?”

(Set up my workspace, charged my computer, etc.)

Once you’ve completed them, check off the two boxes and you’re done!

Your Daily WINS should take about three minutes and, when done consistently,
will quickly become a habit that will make a big difference in your motivation,
growth, and continual improvement.

2 Complete Your Time Genius Weekly Review

Here’s a process you’ll do just once a week that allows you to REVIEW,
REJOICE, and REVISE your Time Genius practice.

Set aside anywhere from 15 - 20 minutes to review the past week, celebrate
what you accomplished, and get yourself set up for the week ahead. I
recommend doing it on Fridays, but Saturday or Sunday works too. Just make
sure to schedule it in your calendar and honor it like any other appointment.

WHY do a Weekly Review? It…

→ Reinforces the beliefs, behaviors, and action steps that are working for you
→ Prompts you to intentionally design your schedule for the week ahead
→ Trains you to plan for success and think through what matters most
→ Helps you anticipate setbacks and solve them in advance

I’ll walk you through it below, then give you a template you can use each week.

S T E P 1 : REFLECT on the Past Week

Review your calendar, your Daily WINS, and your journal if you keep one. Be
both self-compassionate and completely honest. Ask yourself:

What are my major lessons, ahas, or insights from

this past week?

What am I learning and discovering about how to

best stay in the Time Genius Zone?

H O W T O S TAY C O N S I S T E N T & E N G A G E D , L O N G -T E R M © Marie Forleo International | Pg. 6

FUN SHEET

Thought starters:

• Which Time Genius tools am I using?

• Have I kept up with making my success plan the night before? How’s it going?

• What have I discovered by using Focus Blocks?

• What are the patterns that either support me or thwart me?

Write down your observations, and be rigorous. Awareness is the first step to
making any change.

S T E P 2 : REJOICE

Celebrate at least three wins — big and small — from this week. Ask yourself:

Where did I keep my word with myself?

What did I do well?

How and where did I stay focused on

what really matters to ME?

Be specific.

Example:

“I had a nice dinner with my family on Wednesday”

“I’m proud of myself for making that killer new arugula

salad recipe and having a TV-free dinner with my family.
And I’m proud that I encouraged us all to go sit in the
backyard after dinner instead of turning on the news.
We saw bats flying in the sky and it was glorious!”

H O W T O S TAY C O N S I S T E N T & E N G A G E D , L O N G -T E R M © Marie Forleo International | Pg. 7

FUN SHEET

S T E P 3 : REVISE

After all the lessons and insights from this past week, what — if any —
revisions or tweaks do you want to make for the upcoming week? Look ahead
at the calendar and what’s coming up. Ask yourself:

What steps can I take now to ensure

a successful week ahead?

Do I need to schedule more flexibility

and white space into my calendar?

Anything unusual happening? Birthdays or

special occasions? Travel?

Do I need to coordinate with any

family members? Confirm any appointments?

Schedule classes or sessions?

And that’s it! Each week you take the time to build on what’s working and
eliminate what’s not, you’re reducing stress and overwhelm and setting
yourself up for even more success in the week ahead.
