Ikegami IUP Gateway
General
The “Ikegami Unified Protocol” (hereinafter referred to as IUP) is an open network protocol used to
control Ikegami broadcast cameras and their accessories remotely via the Protocol Gateway. The RCCP
can control each camera and/or CCU/base station through the IUP Gateway by connecting to it over
Ethernet using a TCP/IP connection. The default TCP port is 55100.

Each camera device is identified by a Group ID and Device ID so the RCCP does not need to know the
IP address for all the devices. The Gateway supplies management and control functions for the camera
equipment.

These cameras and CCU/base stations have been verified with RCCP and IUP Gateway:

This was tested using the Ikegami HDK-99 & BS-98 it is likely it will be the same for
the UHK – 430 but this is untested as of yet.

RCCP Configuration

Device Configuration
Please refer to the RCCP operation manual for detailed Instructions

1. Enter the Admin Section by logging into the RCCP as admin

2. Press the Admin button at the Load Show screen
3. Press the Advanced button on the AutoSense screen
4. Press the Devices button to display the Devices list
5. Add a Pan/Tilt Device

6. Add a Camera Device with Ikegami IUP or Ikegami BS-98 as the model

7. Attach the camera to the Pan/Tilt device

8. Select the newly added camera in the Devices list and set up the Connection Details.
Use the IP address and Control Port for the IUP Gateway - the Gateway Control Port is by
default 55100. For example: [Link]:55100

9. Press the Save button

10. With the newly added camera still selected in the Devices list, press Device Settings

11. Adjust the settings as appropriate for the Camera configuration and press Return.

As described earlier in Ikegami IUP Gateway - General, the Group ID, Device ID, and Sub ID
combine to identify the device to be controlled via the IUP Gateway. In this case it will be the
Camera’s CCU and the RCCP settings must match what is set on the CCU’s Settings menu. If
multiple cameras/CCUs are connected to the Gateway they must each have unique
combinations of Group, Device and Sub IDs. An entry for each device must be added to the
RCCP Devices list using the Gateway’s IP Address (and port 55100) and set to the
Group/Device/Sub IDs for that device.

12. Create the Camera Station and add it to a Show as per the manual
