This representation letter is provided in connection with your audit
of the balance sheet of Employees’ Gratuity Fund of Intertek
Bangladesh Limited (the "Fund") as at 31 December 2015, 2016
and the related revenue account for the year then ended (the
"statements of accounts") and other explanatory notes for the
purposes of expressing an opinion as to whether the statements of
accounts conform with the requirements of trust deed and
generally accepted accounting principles applicable in Bangladesh.
We are pleased to confirm our acceptance and our understanding
of these engagements by means of this letter.
We acknowledge our responsibility for the fair presentation of the
statements of accounts in accordance with trust deed and generally
accepted accounting principles.
We confirm, to the best of our knowledge and belief, the following
representations:
The statement of accounts of the fund referred to above has
been prepared and presented in accordance with generally
accepted accounting principles.
We have made available to you all books of account and
supporting documentation, and all minutes of meetings of
Trustees.
There are no material transactions that have not been
properly recorded in the accounting records underlying the
statements of accounts.
There has been no known actual or possible noncompliance
with laws and regulations that could have a material effect on
the statements of accounts in the event of noncompliance.
We acknowledge responsibility for the design and
implementation of internal control to prevent and detect
fraud and error.
To the best of our knowledge we believe that there is no
significant fact relating to any known frauds or suspected
frauds that may have affected the entity.
We believe that there is no in-correct or misstatements which
are material both individually and in aggregate to statements
of accounts as a whole.
We believe that there is no in-correct or misstatements which
are material both individually and in aggregate to statements
of accounts as a whole.
The fund has satisfactory title to all assets and there are no
liens or encumbrances on the fund's assets maintained by the
trustees.
We have recorded or disclosed, as appropriate, all income
and expenses as per consistent accounting policies of the
fund as determined by the trustees.
To the best of our knowledge and belief, no events have
occurred subsequent to the balance sheet date and through
the date of this letter that may require adjustment to or
disclosure in the aforementioned statements of accounts.
